i know nothing about the technique involved in jazz singing so i'd definitely have to wing the hell out of this concept i'm gonna be fr BUT i actually love the idea of andrew being able to sing and fletcher doesn't realize it until like. a year into them working together.

i like this headcanon a lot!!! i think it can deffo work in canon esp with how socially reserved andrew seems (although i love the idea of him being a closet freak) however! i primarily write porn and i'd need to talk to some demi people because im a big whore irl (lol) so i think i'd do a poor job representing demisexuality without any research

Ageswap with middle-aged Andrew leaving Shaffer without a Terence Fletcher, becoming an okay-ish drummer subbing for underground gigs and has a day job to pay the bills. Fletcher is either a college student or fresh out of college, who becomes a regular audience of Andrew. (Read: Terence Fletcher with a head full of hair)

Or how about making the story take place in the 1930s when Jazz is thriving, Fletcher running a famous jazz club/ orchestra (that’s also a mafia organisation) and Andrew is doing whatever it takes to join it?

Hey, so glad to see another talented writer joining the Whiplash fandom. Have you thought about writing the events happening right after JVC, or the time between their jazz club date and JVC? Like I kept picturing Andrew panting and grinning with wild eyes and bloody hands while Fletcher is trying to tell him what to say at the JVC afterparty to socialise. Also oh my god yes an omegaverse fic is exactly what the fandom needs, I really look forward to reading your newest work! Keep on writing💕

I remember reading this one fic a while ago where Andrew’s dad is like a creep or smthn and Fletcher is so not down for that. What do u think about exploring darker topics for Fletcher/Neiman like that?

HMMMM i actually used to write a LOT of fic exploring darker topics but they were always platonic character studies... i feel like adding fletcher into the mix would make it more fucked up than i'm comfortable with... i have actually thought about this before so maybe i can find a way to spin it?

i’m gonna be fr my interpretations of andrew and fletcher as trans are gonna be wildly different from yours so i don’t think i’m very helpful BUT something about binding and drumming or taking time off drumming for surgery would be fire… and fletcher calling him a pussy like “back in my day we didn’t have to take time off for recovery” or “complain about binding” like okay gramps
