With his hoodie and sunglasses covering most of his slightly paler looking green skin, Donatello froze where he stood as your gazes crossed. His bandana-free forehead had some sweat running down that he hoped didn't fall in his soup as he held it closer to his shivering body.

“Why…” you looked at him up and down, raising a brow “are you dressed like that?”

His sweat intensified, “Oh, It's a little breezy today, down here it gets really cold at these hours.” he stated matter-of-factly. His voice sounded like his nose was stuffed, and he fought his reflexes to sniff in the dripping water from his snout. “Why are you here anyways? It's a little too late for you to be around.”

“Today's movie night, D. Did you forget?”

The turtle felt a rock hit his brain. He forgot about the movie night, the night you two spend together once a month as quality time. And not only did he forget again, but he's also terribly sick. This wasn't his night at all.

Before you could amble to his side, he scrambled away, hoping you wouldn't notice his miserable state from across the kitchen counter.

You squinted, trying to get a better look from across the counter. “Hey, what's with the running? And is that soup?” you snickered “Why are you using those here? You look dumb”

He started to back away reflexively. “No! No, it's not--it's not soup, I mean it's not for me. I was being a good brother and making this for Leo!” he let out a nervous laugh, feeling his nose start to run.

You tried to walk to him, starting a tango around the counter. “Don, it's ok if you forgot about movie night.” the two ran in circles, your playful smile starting to drop “I just want to greet you...Or don't you want me to?”

“It's not that, (Y/N)! I just, uh, don't want you to burn. This soup- Leo's soup- is really hot and I don't want you to get hurt”

“I've been caught in mutant fights and flew with your jetpack and you don't want the soup to burn me?”

“Yes”

“I see now” you quieted down. Without another word, you walked out of the kitchen.

Donatello, left to hug his warm veggie soup, couldn't feel less calm about your answer– it was too short, too serene– it downed to him a little too late that you were more observant than he wanted to believe.

“Come here, you sick pancake!” You ran to him, dark purple blanket in hand ready to cover him with your biggest bear hug.

He shrieked like a woman in a bad scary movie “Nononono! No! (Y/N), get back. You can't come close-”

“You're sick and need to rest. Maybe some kisses will help!” you cornered him with the blanket ready to tuck him like a burrito.

“You can't kiss me, you'll get sick too! Get away before I-I-” the turtle was cut off by his own sneezes.

You held in your giggles the best you could. As he tried to swipe his stuffy nose with his hoodie’s sleeve– still holding his soup close like dear life– you covered him with the long blanket, almost like a hug. The turtle didn't struggle out of it. He kept a pouty scrowl while you took his sunglasses off.

“You're shaking too…probably from a fever.” you said in a sweet, caring tone. You ran your cool hand over his warm, sweaty cheek. “What's with that look now?”

“I don't need you to take care of me, thank you very much.” he grumbled, like a kid when you don't let them try to do things by themselves even though they clearly cannot do it.

“I know that.” you assured “I just want to.”

Donatello let out a mumble. You kept a smile, taking his soup and leaving it on the counter. He waited for you to take his hand and walk out of the kitchen, leading him back to his room.

He knew he didn't have any other options. He didn't like being taken care of even while sick, but you were just as stubborn as he was. And your way of treating him while sick was so sweet, so warm… if he had to be honest, more than half of himself was glad you found him in that miserable state.

You lead him to his bed where he softly lets his body fall. When you tried to walk back out, you felt a tug of your hand. Don didn't seem to notice his grip tightening.

“Hey,” your voice was low and warm, in complete contrast with how cold your hand felt when you stroked his forehead. Yet both made him feel at ease. “I left your soup in the kitchen. Do you still want it, or want me to stay?”

“You'll get sick if you stay.” he dodged your question. But again, you could see right through him like no one else could.

“Alright, Shelldon.” you called on the turtle's techno ‘butler’, who lit up with your voice “Turn on the AC for me, would you? And then put on the movie we had arranged for tonight.”

“What? Why?” the sick turtle questioned “For Gosh sake, you're not planing to-”

“Yes I am.”

“(Y/N) I'm not telling you again, you're going to get sick.”

Laying on his bed slightly over him just enough to rest your chin on his shoulders, you hummed in careless response to his complaints.

“If I get sick you'll take care of me tomorrow, right? Just how I'm going to take care of you tonight.” you hugged his torso, giving him little pecks on the cheek as you spoke.

He complained with humming noises and pouting but never pushing you away. “Stop, I'm sweaty...it's gross”

“Yeah, you're a sweetie when you're sick” you snickered “and your kitten sneezes are adorable too”

Don let out a louder complaint. “If I didn't love you I would have sneezed on you.”

“I love your grumpy complaints too, dork.”

Heya, how’s everyone doin?

So, some time ago I made a post telling you guys how I was going to undergo a surgery, right? Well, I didn’t die! ◝(´▼｀ ； )

The first days weren’t nice.. I struggled with phantom pains and the doctors were constantly checking on me to make sure I recovered the way I should. I couldn’t do much besides doing the exercises I was told to do, and after being told I could get my legs to work again with the more I tried, I decided to put all my energy on it.

And so far? Working myself out on this has made my recovery faster. I’m just a few days from getting out of the hospital and being taken to another place where I’m going to spend some weeks doing intensive exercises. After that, I’m expected to leave the place walking again!!

I’m just really happy for my fast recovery… the only thing I want is to go back to my routine and do all those things I didn’t appreciate before the surgery. Man, I even miss going to school… (ﾟ▽ﾟ｀*) I just hate having to stay still and let people do things for me, hah…

Anyways, I just wanted to let you guys know I’m ok, been inactive because of the surgery and will more than probably not be active for a long time. I’m putting all my energy and time on my recovery so I can be back on my feet and run like the maniac I am.

Sadly I don’t think I’ll have enough free time to even watch the new Rise eps… Which is hurting my blue heart with this Saturday’s Leon ep (☍﹏⁰)｡the previews’ got me dying over how beefy his arms are and how cute everyone looks with those pirate outfits 👀

While I cry over not being able to gush over these dorks, I also want to apologize for not answering questions and messages… I’m going to try to reply to everything when I get the chance, but it’ll take some time and I don’t think I’ll be able to have a fluent conversation… Just bare with me these trying times and bond over turtles and rise OCs (˘̭⺫˘̭ ;)

If I can add onto the 'raph with a crush' hc request, what if his crush was anosmic (born without the ability to smell)???

Raph would be so confused and curious about it! For one, he’s so glad he doesn’t have to worry about his stink (at least around you) meaning he only has to worry about not stumbling over his words, feet, and pieces of furniture. But he’d be skeptical until proving it. It’s not like he doesn’t trust your word, he just worries you’re actually saying that to make him feel better about his smell. Sometimes he’d ask you if you wish you could smell, but then he’d remember how it’d be hard for you to get used to the sewer’s smell with all the time you spend at the lair.

🥊Affection is something he’s used to; he’s affectionate with everyone he trusts in the ways he knows won’t bother them (thanks to growing up with Mikey, a super affectionate boy, and Don, who’s the complete opposite). You being just as affectionate as him is a true blessing.

🥊Physical affection is his favorite kind of affection. It’s the easier way of showing how much he cares and trusts you. He knows he’s not good with words, thinks his way of expressing himself is not good enough and doesn’t want to use words he doesn’t fully understand. He just wants you to know exactly what he feels, and so far, physical affection has worked perfectly for this.

🥊You can always sit on his shoulders or shell and spend your time doing your things up there. Talk about your day as you read and he lifts some of his light weights, just lay on his shoulders running your hand over his many spikes.

🥊He loves it when you pet and caress him. It’s a weird feeling on his rather tough skin, your hands are so soft compared to anything he’s ever felt. And when you find his weak spot, he’ll melt right where he’s standing.

🥊He doesn’t mind PDA, could say he likes it, but he still blushes when you kiss him around other people. Just a peck on the cheek can turn this big boy into a giggly, daydreaming mess.

🥊Raph adores cuddling too. He might invite you over to stay for movie night just to rest his head over yours when you’re sitting on his lap, and loves those times you fall asleep cuddling his arm.

🥊Hugs are his favorite thing. When you try to hug him but your arms can hardly reach his shell and you bury your face on his chest…He can’t help but smile like a doof. After making sure that hugging you won’t hurt you in any way, get ready for his warm bear hugs.

⚗️Don may act like he doesn’t like affection but truth be told, he loves it. Maybe not in the ways you think, or what you’re used to, but he does like receiving affection. Now, giving? It’s a hard thing for him to do.

⚗️He’s weak to any kind of affection, but if you don’t want him to close up, start with small things. Compliments are always a good way to start with.

⚗️He takes everything you say to heart and with only one little comment you can make his ego grow, and his mind wander. You said his sarcastic jokes are really creative and fun, so you think he’s funny. Pfft, no it doesn’t surprise him. But you actually said it, you laugh at his jokes and actually meant what you said- If you compliment him enough, he’ll get a boost of confidence and maybe completely break from his cocoon.

⚗️He would pass out every time you show him physical affection if his strong façade of ‘cold and mean scientist’ didn’t exist. Hug him from behind, play with his hands, just snuggle close to him when chilling; He won’t let it show but internally, he’s shouting victory to whichever Gods are up there.

⚗️At the same time, he doesn’t mind PDA as long as it’s not something that can make his head go to the clouds. He doesn’t want to be a show-off and prefers to keep his affection for alone times, so he’d be slightly taken aback with physical affection in public. He won’t complain and will most probably get used to it with time. Compliments and slight flirting are all good, though.

⚗️The first time you pet his shell was one of the best things to ever happen to him. Feeling your hand softly dance over his sensitive back, sometimes giving him tickles, is his favorite way to relax. He won’t tell you this, but he doesn’t need to. Hearing his light churrs and seeing him melt under your touch is enough to know you can keep going.

⚗️Don will try to give you as much affection as he receives, big emphasis in try. He’ll make you gifts and compliment you in his own way. He’ll also try to hold your hand more often and get used to you being close to him. You can spend you afternoon studying while he works, leaning on each other and helping with whatever you can.

Ooooo since Mikey is an artist, how would he react to witnessing someone's art getting traced/stolen (possibly his own)?

🎨Whether it's his art or someone else's, Mikey grew bitter of those recompilation blogs of people calling something cringy or plainly reposting with no credit.

🎨He can go through the seven stages of hell in just one sitting. This situation? He'd go from slightly crying over his art to trying to find the person involved and make them take everything down.

🎨If by any chance, he gets to actually talk to the responsible of the reposting and editing, a storm of claims and shouts will flood their inboxes.

🎨He'll start with a nice, gentle claim. An email to let the person know what they're doing is hurting artists and is wrong. Oh, look! They answered- a rude joke and a block is all they gave him. If that's how the person wants to go, then he'll give them a crude piece if his mind as well.

🎨He knows he can't do much from the lair, and can't go out looking like a madman for the guilty arse. What's the best he can do without any other issue? Ask Donatello for help.

🎨After living the theft with his own art, he started a master list of art thieves around different sites. When he sees someone's art edited or reposted, he tells the original artist about it and offers to help if the thief doesn't take down the posts.

When and why did you start your blog? I started this blog in January of 2019 out of spite. I love making headcanons and come up with ideas for fics, and for some reason, I didn’t really see many reader insert-y content in the ROTTMNT fandom. So I said to my friends “Hey should I make an imagines blog? I have nowhere to dump my ideas.” and before I knew it I had made the blog at 3 am on a Saturday’s dawn

Poetry or prose? Both are great. I usually write with prose, but if what I’m working on fits with poetry, I’ll use that.

What do you find the hardest to write in a story? The beginning is hard for me, I always get ideas for the plot and situations that will happen in the middle or end but never know how to correctly start a story

Terms used in this blog

Headcanons: Personal theory or concept about a theme or character, what one thinks could be canon like how they would react in a certain situation.

Imagines: Short stories or ideas about a topic involving the characters. I personally see imagines as possible one-shots or headcanons depending on what the imagine proposed made me think about.

One-Shot: A story with only one chapter.

S/I: Self insert. It’s a term used when someone inserts their own selves in a story. It can also be a variant for S/O.

S/O: Significant other. It’s a term used for the person the character is emotionally involved with, usually romantically and already in a relationship.

Is S/I stands for Self-Insert? I’m sorry, If I bothered!

Hi! Yes, as far as I know and for as long as I've been using this term, S/I stands for Self Insert. Sometimes it's used instead of S/O, which means Significant Other.

I don't mind using either but most times when someone requests with S/I, I interpret they want a short fic / One Shot. Meanwhile when someone requests with S/O, headcanons is more of the thing I have in mind.

Don't worry anon!! You're not the first person to ask and I don't mind answering things like this, at all! I'll probably add it to the Rules I'm working on so it's easier for everyone to find the different terms used ^^

🎨Mikey tries to show you every new thing he learns; look he tried out this new painting technique he read about last night, and this new dish he saw in a cooking show, oh and this new trick he hasn’t tried out yet but he’s sure it’s going to be awesome- It was awesome for the first seconds in the air. Now he has a bruise you can kiss better!

🎨He’s an artist of multiple medias so expect him doing different things every day. One day he’ll show you a playlist he made with songs that reminded him of you, then the next day he’ll come with a painting inspired by how you made him feel when you held his hand for the first time.

🎨Expect lots of gifts. Maybe not the expensive kind, though he’d love to, but hand made and with deeper meanings to him. You may have your room full of them, from a little porcelain orange flower, to a portrait of you two with acrylics or graphite. Everything he makes, he pours his heart and soul in it.

🎨And to Mikey, you’re his favorite model and canvas. He always asks you to pose for him or try new body paints on you. In exchange, he’d ask you to paint on him too. He doesn’t care how good you are at it, he loves every and anything you make. Plus, sometimes you end up having paint wars.

🎨He’s a cuddly bean and loves physical affection. But he understands if you aren’t used to it or just plainly don’t like it, so you can find a point where the two are comfortable and happy. Even so, just holding hands or leaning on each other is enough to boost his energy.

🎨He gets impressed by everything you do. You’re so cool in his eyes! You write? Draw? Can do a handstand? Can tolerate his hyperactivity and nonsenses? How can you be just so cool?

🎨And he loves to talk about you when you’re not around. He doesn’t notice he does so, it just blurts out of him like a casual thing. His brothers sometimes find it annoying, but they know it’s not on purpose and dismiss it as his mind being lost in love.

🎨“Oh, you’re watching the new Science Fiction Effects show! It’s really good, (Y/N) recommended it to me. They watched it live when they went to the Con last year and took so many pictures. And even got an autograph of my favorite artist! They gifted it to me cause they said they didn’t have enough money to buy anything, but I told them they didn’t need to-“

“Who’s going to tell him he’s rambling again.”

“Angelo, we know about the Con. You told us about it last year, and this year, and every time you talk about the show.”

🥊Raph knows about his nervous stink and how it goes off easily. But now that he has a crush on you? It ’s worse than it’s ever been. He tries to get rid of it somehow, even asks Don at some point.

🥊He’s big and has spikes, he should be scared of hurting you. But in reality, he feels so small under your gaze he forgets how big and strong he really is.

🥊Like his brothers, he’s one to try and play everything cool. If you’re around when he’s lifting weights, he’ll try to lift more than he’s used to and start chanting numbers ‘ under his breath’ but loud enough for you to hear.

🥊“Working out again? And that much weight?”

“Yeah…Last time I didn’t hit those feet people hard enough so- “

“Oh, (Y/N)’s here!”

“56…57…”

🥊He’s very clumsy when he knows you’re around. He tries not to show it, but it’s hard not to stumble with the few words he can make out, or start rambling none senses. Though, if it makes you just as much as giggle, he’ll feel accomplished for the whole day.

🥊If you show him affection, of any kind, he’ll smile and giggle so much his cheeks will start to hurt. He’ll try to give affection back, asking you first for anything. He doesn’t want to overstep and do something you aren’t comfortable with so he takes baby steps with everything.

🥊He’d ask his brothers for help, but he’s just too nervous to actually try any of the advice they have. And a plus to that, they’re all terrible romantic advisors.

🥊“Now, Raph. Bro. You just need to do one thing. See, Mikey already got them to come out of the arcade room. You just need to relax, walk up to them, and say exactly what I told you.”

“I still think my idea of using Shelldon’s romantic ambiance as we ‘accidentally’ make them bump with each other would have worked much better than this.”

“I don’t know, Leo. Maybe Don’s right. I don’t think telling them they have an infectious disease called ‘beautiful’ is good, or the walk past again line either. Or the- “

“Is everyone a critic now?! I shared with you my pick-up lines and you treat them this way?”

🥊Ends up taking more advice from April, which includes pep talking himself before talking to you, preparing and telling himself what he’s gonna say. He’s got it, he’s the man. He can do it- You looked his way, he can’t do it.

🥊It won’t be hard to notice how different he acts around you, much less his crush on you. In the end, Raph won’t want to keep acting this way and in outrage with himself, he’d try to confess to you. He may or may not succeed, but he was ready for any outcome. He just wants to make sure you aren’t uncomfortable with his “stupid attitude”.

⚗️He may not be an artist or an art enthusiast, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy the few scientific facts behind the art. 

⚗️If you have exhibitions, he’d love to go; he can admire your work and your smile as people compliment your pieces, even brag a little about what a great artist you are. He’d also like to see the rest of the exhibition with you. It’s relaxing and a nice way to spend the day, but really what he likes the most is to try and analyze the way some pieces were made.

⚗️ “ ‘The Disaster’...Isn’t it breathtaking? How it catches your eye from every angle?”

“Indeed. Just look at the way he hanged those lightbulbs. What kind of measurement do you think he used? And where did he find so many of those, they’re really hard to find in junkyards!”

⚗️When he’s designing new weapons or giving his things a makeover, he asks for your help. What color would go well with this, should he add more purple to that, and how could he stylize his lab the way Draxum did- You’re an expert in his eyes, even if he doesn’t admit it.

⚗️Countless times you’ve given him the best ideas for materials and dynamics;  Those little comments and bits of advice you give him when he’s stuck with blueprints are a blessing too.

⚗️He doesn’t get most artistic things but creating is something you two can bond over. He gets it when you get frustrated over your work cause he goes through that too, and he’d try to help even with his poor artistic knowledge.

⚗️ “Fibonacci succession! It’s one of the best ways to know if you’re doing things right- Observe the points of view the Mauritshuis has. All according to the spirals calculated by Fibonacci himself!”

You get how Donatello isolates himself when working on new projects, protocols, even just a slight detail on his older machines. But that didn't mean you didn't get at least a little worried about him and his... Unhealthy ways of being.

After some time with unanswered texts and calls, you took off to check on him and, in the meantime, the rest of the boys.

The lair wasn't exactly a mess, but it didn't have a relaxing aura either. Mikey blasted music from a stereo as he watched Leo try new stunts on the skate ramp.

"He-hey! Nice to see you around!"

"What's up? Want to see Leo try to do... The caballerial kickflip?" Mike did some moves with his hands trying to make the word scary, in some way.

You shuffled his head. "Maybe later M. Say, have you seen Don around? He hasn't answered my texts in all morning."

Leo stood on top of the ramp and hummed out loud "I think Donnie's been in his lab all day, right?"

"Yeah, he left last night to work on something. We didn't see him after that." the young turtles flopped back on the floor. "But he won't let us in. Remember last time with Shelldon?"

"He added a lab intruder protocol, didn't he" the two turtles responded in unison with a 'yup', making you sigh. "Let's hope it only works with turtles."

Mikey wished you good luck as you climbed your way to the probably booby trapped laboratory. You pushed the metallic door, ignoring the "Keep Out" sticker Don had put on the front.

Inside the room, everything was quiet. The faint sound of an engine filled the blank noise and, surprisingly, the music from the first floor was almost null.

"Donnie? You there?" You stepped further into the badly lit room. "It's 3 in the afternoon, you should get something to eat. I think they left some pizza on the fridge..."

The silence was the only answer. It made you weary. Squinting to try and see if there was someone hiding there, you moved slowly to the working table.

As you were about to speak, a light snore made you jump. "The hell-" you looked around trying to find whatever made that sound; Head rested on the metal table with some saliva dripping off his mouth, you found the purple loving turtle sleeping.

His staff was just a few inches above his head and had a small rectangle with wires coming out and he still had his googles on too.

You took the googles off, the bandana loosening and falling. There were dark eyebags under his eyes, making his tired expression more evident.

"Oh, Don... Again?" you whispered. He adjusted his google-free head over his folded arms and continued his slumber.

You observed him for a minute, seeing him shiver. Quietly, you walked back to his room and came back as fast as you could with a pillow and blanket under your arm. Both were a gift from you after they told you they didn't have those since they were kids. It warms you heart to see they still have them around.

You put the purple blanket over him, making sure it wouldn't fall. Unfolding his arms with care, you slid the pillow under his head. Lucky for you, he was so deep in his sleep he didn't bat an eye.

Don only snuggled the pillow closer to his face. He made some content noises with his throat, making your heart skip a beat.

"Maybe..." your arms shook as you got closer. Closing the space between you two, you kissed his forehead.

As quickly as it happened, you jumped your way out of the room. The door's closed, Don's still sleeping. You rested your back on the circular door and tried to control your breaths.

"(Y/N)? You good there?" you choked with air when Raph magically showed by your side.

It took you a minute to stop coughing. By now, the giant turtle was rubbing your back, waiting patiently. "Ye-Yeah, I'm... Great" you said between gasps.

Raph gave you a soft smile, like he understood whatever happened in his brother's lab. "Thanks for taking care of Donnie. I tell ya, sometimes I think he does this on purpose."

You made your way to the second floor with Raph following close. You pushed him playfully before he could get to the kitchen. "Well, next time you could help me take him to his bed."

🔷 Falling when skating, messing his portals, even walking face first with walls; the dictionary now has his face when describing clumsiness.
