Lost Soul of a Vampire for @greglunvik Phiona sucks

Lilliana De le Morte  watched over  the small village on the outskirts of Ciudad Enamorada. She took pride in her people and always aimed to keep them safe.  As years went on Lilliana saw her children grow, marry, bare their own  children and eventually die, the cycle of life as such but Lilliana remained the same. A blessing or a curse, well that depends  on your point of view.

One summer day Lilliana came across a sweet faced toddler, she knew him and his family were new to the village. He reminded her so much of her sweet boy and only son , who long since gave life to flowers. She watched the sweet chubby face change over the coming years becoming a young man. A young man who always had a way with people and healing, the heart, mind and body of those he came in contact with.  She knew he did well in his schooling and was one of the brightest minds in the county. When he turned 18 he would have, like so many in the village turned to labor roles to provide for their families.

 Lilliana refused to see that young boys  gift wasted. So she did what any good watcher would do, what she had been doing since that summer day he first crossed her path, she helped him.  Soon he was enrolled in a school of Biology and Osteopathic  Science. By his 23rd birthday he was officially the local  Physician. Moving into the heart of Ciudad Enamorada, he sought to establish a  central location for his patients to come to see him.  Over the next few years he fell in love with a local girl and soon was expecting a baby.  During this time Ciudad Enamorada fell under a new government, led By Col. Landgraab, a foreigner to the area from a place called the Oasis territories. His young  wife who accompanied him, was ripe with child and soon went into labor.

Our Town Physician was away at his home village treating an elder when word reached him of the Colonel  wife baby being breech. Try as he might he was too far away to make it time to save mom and baby. Col. Landgraab was furious and went on an absolute rampage. The end result was the small village being attacked, and one small quaint residence in the city being burned to the ground,   with a lone female inside.

Lilliana didn’t allow the attack on her people to go unavenged. Though she couldn’t save the sweet wife and unborn child of the Physician. She poured her lifeforce into him, she refused to lose the boy she saw as a son. She had that grief already and wouldn’t have it again.

That was 125 years ago.

Neither she nor the young man speak often of that fateful night, the night he was reborn, because it takes them both to the darkest of times. See Lilliana reigned down blood, the blood of her people, of the souls lost. Landgraab barely made it out alive and rumor had it he made it back to the territories, his family becoming large land owners.

As for her young Physician, well, he went through hell and back again and wears his pain on his body and it haunts his soul.

Today he can be found in San Myshuno, living on the top floor of the Morte Fleur Hotel, which he co-owns with Lilliana.  His Physician roots, he now applies to helping fledging vamps, patching them up, as well as other Sups that come calling. He is now the go to doctor for  all things that go bump in the night. 

Many nights have passed since his wife and child were ripped away much too soon but he has grown more lonely over the years. As much as he loves his creator, he has discovered recently that he just might be going mad.  The root of his madness is all the stored up love  that is bursting to get out, love that he wants nothing more to find a keeper for his dark heart and hopefully before he falls into oblivion. Is Phiona the one for him and him for her….

most recent windows 11 update is wiping SSDs

there's been multiple reports of people's computers not booting properly after the windows 11 24H2 KB5063878 update due to it essentially wiping the hard drives (specifically SSDs) on computers and laptops. users have reported their SSDs aren't able to be read/recognized and unable to be seen in bios settings either.

it's safe to assume all SSDs can be potentially affected by this update, so if you haven't updated yet turn off autoupdates

the bug caused by this update is seemingly triggered by installing/moving/deleting large files (50+ gb), which as simmers is what a lot of us do very pften

if you're unsure what windows version you currently have:

go to settings > system > about (at they very bottom) > and scroll down to see the current OS version

if you do currently have windows 11 24H2:

in settings, click 'Windows update' > 'Update history' > and under 'Quality Updates' check to see if the KB5063878 update is in the list of recently installed updates

don't panic, you can uninstall this update!

while in 'Update History', scroll to the very bottom and click 'Uninstall updates', and click 'Uninstall' for 'Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB5063878)'

from there, give it some time to remove the update and after pause updates for as long as possible (5 weeks is the longest i think), but it will force an update if there's a big/official update for the fix

if you've already been affected and your computer is not starting or giving errors regarding your hard drive, i recommend visiting small pc repair shops to try data recovery as some have reported placing their SSD in an enclosure seems to work to recover the data

hopefully this is helpful is any kind of way! friendly reminder to back up your data to an external drive routinely!

why is this option the complete opposite of my thinking.. like am i the only one that thought it would ADD the occults to all the CAS items in a particular folder etc not all occults and remove the human tag

oh heeeeeey. i return with yet more poster cc, this time - bands! yes I HAVE done music posters before but not, like, real bands. this time we've got a plethora of artists - we're talking ABBA, Chappell Roan, The Cure, Coldplay, ACDC, Boy Genius, Elton John, Fleetwood Mack, Blondie, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, MCR, Arctic Monkeys, and everything in-between. Most of them are older bands (think 70s to 90s), but there's a couple of more modern ones too. This was so much fun and I really love the result - hopefully you do too!

my ultimate guide to screenshot quality

using SRWE to take screenshots is a must! basically what it does is it sizes up your game window to be larger than your physical screen, meaning you can get screenshots in much higher resolutions. for my screenshots, i size up my game window to 2x the normal resolution (3840 x 2160) here's a tutorial!

g/reshade and relight i use my own personal gshade preset along with relight for my screenshots. relight is a game changer for adding dynamic light sources into your game it does cost money tho here's a download link to my gshade preset, here's a tutorial for installing gshade, here's a link to relight and a tutorial for how to access it, and here's a tutorial for getting relight to work with gshade relight is built for reshade so it will be different for gshade!

graphics rule overhaul by Simp4Sims is a replacement file for graphicsrules.sgr which tweaks multiple settings and will overall improve your in-game quality here's the download link along with a tutorial

sunblind by softerhaze is a lighting mod that overhauls the lighting in your game so you can leave behind ea's ugly lighting! here's the download link + a tutorial for installation

better in-game and gentle cas lighting by northernsiberiawinds is another lighting mod! i use the "average" setting here is a link to the download for in-game lighting and cas lighting over on their patreon

buckley's camera mods allow for taking screenshots at more angles and is another absolute must have here's a link to the download

recreating topaz clean in photopea photopea is a free to use photo-editing website that is pretty much exactly like photoshop! i use the oil paint feature to recreate topaz clean (an old photoshop action) that smooths out those pesky jagged edges here's the tutorial i used for using oil paint in photopea

it works with any game content that doesn't tuck into boots and cc made to be compatible with tall boots because i tricked the game into thinking these were boots! hopefully i can get it working for all ages (except infant; there's no tall boots for infants) otherwise, i'm super happy with this and excited to share!
