You can put all your heart, soul and passion into something AND expect to be adequately compensated for it. You can also do something without being paid, and absolutely resent every minute of it. And of course, you can do something you cannot stand just for the monetary compensation. Or do something you absolutely love, without payment. None of those scenarios should result in any judgement. They are all products of different circumstances that we experience as human beings, living in an economy. In fact I am sure that if you cast your mind back you will find yourself in each of the above situations. So please don’t take (and pass) any judgement or shame no matter where you find yourself - or another person. And please do not pedestalise working only from the heart and never for money as some sublime form of being.
