Hello I wanted to check if you were interested in applying for the 20th anniversary zine for SRMTHG @srmt-zine? Nevermind this if you aren't interested.

i hadn't realized that there was a srmthfg zine in the works! thanks for letting me know :) i'll be applying pretty soon, so hopefully i can join y'all in this fun endeavor.

(anyone else who is interested in joining should look into @srmt-zine! there's an application posted there that's due april 15.)

the winter in antarctica behaves very badly.

the winter of antarctica is a drawn-out nighttime, with the sun barely peeping above the horizon. it lasts from mid-february to late october, with the area around the geographical south pole having an average high temperature of -53 degrees celsius (-63 degrees fahrenheit). this area is a cold desert full of nothing but snow, so it gives little room for any proper infrastructure for transportation. all of these conditions happening in the antarctic winter make transport difficult; thus, no planes, boats, or any other form of transportation are available to link antarctica to the rest of the world during this time.

around fifty souls stay in the amundsen-scott base, within the vicinity of the geographical south pole. these souls have access to 13.5 hours of steady internet service at a time, only for emailing, light web browsing, video teleconferencing for work, and transmission of research data. personal-use contact using any video chat programs can only be done through a public kiosk; it is forbidden to use these video chat programs and mobile device interfaces for personal-use contact outside of this kiosk.

among these souls is freeze man, working in the amundsen-scott base for the first time to do meteorological studies around the area. not among these souls is ice man.

seven to eight months. freeze would wait for seven to eight months before he can see ice. and in those seven to eight months, all he can do is collect and clean the data of his research, in a place isolated from the rest of the world, where the outside is mostly pitch-dark and with temperatures in the negatives.

a weak, frail little body answers the door. he peeks through the crack with wide opened eyes at the face of a familiar friend, and then narrows them. with nothing else in his possession other than a jar of a certain gas that would jolt the olfactory senses (concocted right from... well, you know where), he tosses the jar at your face, which gets smashed open, and he slams the door closed.

stunned, you feel the impulse to burst into the apartment and teach the little guy a lesson. before you do that, however, the scent evaporating from the shards of jar glass reaches your nostrils, and a vision permeates your sight in the way that a droplet of darkly-colored dye would explode through the surface of clear water.

the vision was of two figures: one, the voice of wisdom of the pair, donning a leopard seal cape headdress with a fierce look, and another, whose demeanor is that of a golden retriever, posing in a large black cloak with a dainty bow tie around his neck.

the familiar pair and the closeness of their proximity in the vision gives you a kind of gentle solace, and you reconsider your plans to smash the door down.

trick or treat!

a weak, frail little body answers your calling. he stares owlishly at you, shaking, before silently mumbling to wait for thirty minutes, and then closes the door gently. you stand there for thirty minutes, and before you throw your hands up, the little body gently opens the door, asks for your hand, and stashes the following into your palm:

five little white rabbit candies

three green tea kit kat bars

one hot dog sausage (????)

and one crumpled piece of paper.

the little being thanks you for coming and hopes you have a nice trick or treat, and then firmly closes the door. already intrigued by the quirky choices of treats you were given, you look at the new additions to your stash, in particular, the little crumpled piece of paper. you open it up, and you see this.

HI my name's Cris and i recently came into a position where i'm gonna need some extra money for future proofing household stuff. There's only so many times u can fix things before they become unusable or rot completely. #oldhousethings

SO i am offering sketch commissions thru kofi (its a lil barren sorry) for right now, maybe longer... it depends on how things go. I have examples and prices on my carrd linked also in my bio, if u need more i have my art tag tab here on this blog! (#my art in search on mobile) I dont only do megaman but its my big main interest rn, so thats all i have to show hehe.
