So, I give out polls from time to time and one idea that always got featured (but also never voted) was a Chloe/Rachel-idea I had. The original idea was to just draw them in bed looking at the stars and as beautiful I clearly think that scene is visually speaking to the point of wanting it to win over and over again, it wasn’t as I had remembered it once I finally got around to just do it for myself and recheck the scene for research.
So the first idea was to wait til I finally replay it but I recognized I had an itch needed to scratch and wouldn’t lose it unless I did something so I tried to find some cool elements from the scene and make something new with it.
I also knew I remembered most about Rachel through her mystification in the first game and knew I didn’t recognize her as the character she was in the moment. So the strongest element in my mind was Chloe’s view of Rachel after this, not what this moment means to Rachel.
But I had forgotten some of the context and just tried to capture the mood of the scene itself instead of the larger story. It also becomes some kind of Frankenstein-planning with it, “here’s a star, there’s a star.” It just feels artificial and I’m not sure what I tried to say with this.
But hopefully, one day I will revisit Before the Storm and might do this moment between them properly.

Winner of my Miraculous Remake-Poll!
Finally came around to finish it!
Made me interested to do like Bat and Cat out in the rain or maybe a Iron Man pin-up with his armor glowing through the storm. Idk

A little appreciation to all the beautiful people that brings light into your life and keeps you running.
I have a person like that, a light when things seem dark, who served as a test audience and advisor during this process.
So if you have a special someone, if it’s a partner, best friend or sibling, reach out to them. Give them a hug, or a high five, buy them coffee.

So, I have found out I’m not a big fan of just 1 to 1 recreating comic panels. I want to add something new.
But this is a random personal favourite of mine. It was just like one of those panels I found as a kid and filled me with excitement and feel, damn, I want to draw like that!
And there was a charm to it. I watched clips of Hammond’s Spider-Man and Lou Ferrigno’s Hulk with my mom and loved the vibe and campiness of it I guess. Well, early television, limited budget and resources, they were not where we are today, all of that of course. But I loved it.
Made them seem like something more than human, they lived by their own rules and moved in their own way. And I kind of felt that in the art from those early 60s and 70s as well.
I love this work so much. It’s awkward and unnatural and yet clear what’s going on. Maybe it spoke to my diagnosis and how overwhelming everything can get, I found some odd happy place in watching a man in green paint throwing a cage like it weighs like a ball. And the artwork gave me the security to find my own style and language and conceive the world how I want.
Or maybe I was 5 and OMG, bright colors!
Damn, why haven’t I drawn Ferrigno-Hulk? My parents would love that.

Just saw Google Docs had dropped some updates and sat and checked it with as much excitiment as I imagine Shifties get whenever Taylor drops a new song or reaction-channels whenever Marvel drops a teaser.
Should I seek help?

I went to Superman and I liked it.
Then right after I got a bunch of clips on Insta about K-Pop Demon Hunters so I watched it. And I liked it a little bit more.
So... got curious about the age-old question... is marketing bad?
Did I enjoy Superman less than I hoped because of a whole year of waiting and marketing and seeing it wherever I went every second every day and trailer after trailer hyped me too much? While all I needed for K-Pop was like three clips inbetween memes?
Of course, I know the value of marketing... but one definitly gave a better aftertaste than the other and it was not the one I saw on the big screen

Let’s see. I kind of wanted to write how much I love and can relate to Superman and how the world will always need him. But just came back from watching DC Studios’ Superman and feeling a little lost.
It was okay.
It wasn’t bad. It had a good and warm and heartfelt story with some amazing visuals and effects straight out of a comic book. David nailed his interpretation of Superman and Nicholas’ Lex was his equal and rival in all categories. The music was amazing and hearing that remake of John Williams’ classic score made me smile everytime.
But for every amazing desktop wallpaper-worthy shot was also an unflattering shot taking you out of the experience. They did not do better with the actual context of the movie than they did in the trailers. David’s Superman was a younger and more emotional and less experienced version of what I’m used to and again, Lex rivals him in that as well. It felt a little odd but gives them room to grow in the future and them both sharing those qualities actually built a good and unique rivalry. And as much as I loved the theme, I probably love it because they reused THE theme.
At the end of the day, it was a Gunn film and everything you have ever loved in his movies are present here and if you have problems with something, they’re here too. Personally, I think the comedy can get a little carried away in what I’ve seen of his portfolio and sadly, Superman fits right in there as well.
But if you planned to see it, you absolutely should.

First place on my last pole went to “Demons and Horror” so I searched my old sketchbooks for something fun. This was a personal favourite but probably a good example of some things just work on black and white pen and paper.
Not that I’m comfortable showing the original sketch. It’s very bad and just captured the elements in basic form to no further degree that I knew what I was going for when creating the idea but if I do a refined one in my current book, I will share it!
Also fun that I came up with like a whole backstory with this thing but had absolutely no clue on the color. And how I can get a full picture in my head without color is really interesting.

Recently remembered I had Amino for a sec so re-downloaded it and deleted all of my old posts
And found some hidden forgotten piles of dirt.
Just look at that, evolution!
Who knows how the fourth will look?

I hoped I would get this done before the end of Pride, but people schedule stuff, and work. And I got sick and tried to call in and got declined so had to work anyways… yay. So I had no damn energy when I got home so I got it done first yesterday!
Personally feel I missed the mark with these two but it's always awkward the first time I try to draw a new character.
So, my biggest problem is how colorful I made Nate’s background compared to the others but I do kind of like the yin/yang of Nate and Marc’s color schemes. Like one miraculous shares the colors of the other’s akumatized form.

So, I suddenly have a lot more free time during summer and I want to spend it as best as possible.
But just no clue what that means.
I do have these ideas: Superman-wallpapers, X-Men-wallpapers, Spidey-wallpapers, FF-wallpapers, Batfamily-wallpapers… LiS-stuff.
Just my basic format of “central character in middle, support filling up negative space. But do I want to work on stuff like that when I have complete days for myself, or a character now and again between shifts.
And I think I should go with the ladder, and spend work free days on more individual focused-pieces and take my time to make them as detailed and refined as possible instead of stressing them out.
So, this piece was made with the goal to surround with friends, family and villains so not finished. But I also felt that the work I have made so far is strong enough to publish just as it is and be public til I manage to complete my goals.
So here! The Fantastic Four! With room for more.
