had a bad day at work and got home and started collecting stuff for a moodboard for a project and searched "jack kirby tribute" just to like get a feel of his art.
One of my drawings were the third result... that was really the ego boost I needed right now.
Love you, king!

StoryTime.
60% of what made me enjoy Miraculous was fanfics I stumbled upon, 20% the show, 20% my sister really liking it and wanting me to watch it. Another 60% Season 4 finale and Marinette getting a straight on panic-attack on a Disney show.
Back to the fanfics, a lot of them were stuff I found on youtube where people made stories based on songs and artwork they had found. Now, I don’t write songs.. But I do draw stick figures.
So I gave myself a goal. One of my drawings will one day make it into a fan fiction. Then I can rest and see the sun fall on a peaceful universe. Or how the quote goes.
Now. I do have an idea for a fic. Something I would genuinely like to see. I just haven’t written anything since 5th grade tho… so I’m going to present my pitch and hope someone more equipped than me finds it and shows interest.
Time Skip! Adult cast. Post school. Marinette and Adrien..? Didn’t work out. Hero activity in Paris? Still going strong except… two are inactive. Marinette’s responsibilities and anxieties were too much. She gave up Guardianship. She lost her memories.
Did it solve her anxiety?
No. It made it worse.
Now she has social anxiety based on memories she no longer has. The thought patterns remained. She ended up feeling like a burden and broke things off.
Where’s Adrien now? Aboard. Marinette? Home alone, not answering calls, not holding a job. Peaked in high school.
The story? Adrien returns to Paris and wakes up old nightmares in Marinette. But also… Chat Noir? Famous hero who Marinette has nothing to do with? Stumbles into her life, and together they find joy in existing and to live with the baggage.
And maybe… a polka dotted heroine back to action?

So, what firstly made me want to make these two was just finding a png of one of Chloe’s tattoos in my drive while I was sorting my Drive and thought, that’s a really cool and beautiful tattoo, I want to do something with that. And I also want to show more love to Chloe. So, originally it was a regular clothed Chloe entangled in the wines and ribbon and it would be centered around her heart with the “Rachel was here, so was Max”-graffiti written over it. Then I got a notification of someone liking an old Max-thing I forgot I had done and thought, huh. That’s hideous. That needs to be taken down.
But that piece was also me just renting about the fine line between “tasteful nudes” and “corn” and I think that’s an important topic to talk about. So, maybee that needs to be redrawn one day.
And like previous moments when I happen to have a Chloe-idea and a Max-idea at the same time, my mind found a way to make them work together as a pair.
So the finalized idea I had been sitting on for a while took a step back and I started drawing and seeing where it takes me, sometimes it works, sometimes doesn't. But I’m happy with where it landed.
So Max’s piece was mostly just a simple redraw, same pose, same location, just a little more honed. But I wanted something to connect them, a centre-piece. So Max got Chloe’s necklace which she takes at the end and keeps to honor her…
Tumblr media
But I didn’t give Chloe anything of Max’s. I made Max’s supposed to be something heroic and beautiful, self-sacrifice and giving up something good in your life to make someone happier in theirs. And that was Max stepping back and giving Chloe a life with Rachel. So in response, Chloe’s token became Rachel’s feather. Chloe’s became darker and more tragic. (and in the end subconsciously became close to another Chloe-post I did a while ago I’ve been planning to remake so check*) If Max’s story is about actions, consequences and maturity, Chloe’s is about losing trust, reliance and someone to call home. She had her father who passed away, she had Max who moved and she had Rachel who disappeared. So in response, she closed off and became lonely.
So the nudity-aspect in Max’s is supposed to showcase power and maturity and value somebody’s happiness over your own and Chloe’s is about openness and vulnerability and how it just has damaged her, therefore surrounded by thorns and fire.
Maybe these weren’t fully throughout as I took inspiration from the comics where Max seems burdened by the past, which she keeps in Double Exposure while Chloe seems to have moved on and tries to live in the now and tomorrow while in these drawings, Max’s is about a better tomorrow while Chloe’s seems stuck in the past. Both drawings are based on different points in their lives while in reality, I should have tried to match them better timeline-vise. Either both be pre- or post-storm.

Hi!
Sorry that I have been inactive lately! Promise to fix that. Just been busy with a new job, which is kind enough to give me more free time during Summer here!
So will probably be more active on the creative side, have a few ideas I want to get out there
Til then, Q&A? Saw one account asking for assumptions, that was new and sounded fun, or scary, depending on which side on it you're on.

Avengers Assemble 2025 v 2022
There was an idea...
And it's finally over. This took way longer then I thought but was so fun to work on.
Also realized I kind of do Avengers once per year so I assume this is this year's entry

Forever since I did something original!
Got the idea from starting this new job and kinda felt uncertain about it. And I didn’t know if I wanted to continue here or fall to unemployment and back to job-hunting. It’s not really something I have much experience in and was kinda thrown or forced into it by higher forces. And damn, I might not be in control of my life and have no clue if I will get real employment or even want it but damn will I give it my all.
And that’s time and life for you, I guess. Always going, always changing. Out there driven by mysterious forces beyond our control, no clue where it’s going. Nothing we can do but to just take that next step and hope it goes the right direction.

Love I was getting to know some of my new coworkers yesterday and we talked about Photoshop and he asked if I had a portfolio and I just
... NO ...
Mostly because I do fan art and it's hard to show off fan art with pride without feeling like a five year old but damn, feels like something is missing

To make sure it doesn't get to much of the same things, name the next thing I should draw from. You could just name the francise and I can pull one of my hundred ideas from my notes. You could name a specific character I maybe haven't done in a while. You could dare to say something new and hope I know what it is!

Started a file with a young Peter Parker reading Captain America-comics and like a timeline of him transforming to Spider-Man and teaming up with Cap but maybe it took to long to finish so lost either interest or confidence in it so will let the file collect dust and maybe return another date.
But still finished Spidey and Cap so here they are!

Spider-Man WIP
Hi!
Feels like ages since I did a superhero. I don’t really read many comics these days, not that many that managed to keep my interest. So I haven't gotten that many new ideas either. Kinda feels like I’m losing touch with a big part of my childhood, wondering a little what will take its place.
But I have started on a Spider-Man/Captain America Team-Up and felt I wanted to share my step-by-step drawing ol’ Webhead!
First of all, open up your friendly neighbourhood JustSketchMe. Really helpful when you can’t really see the full canvas when you draw. And start with lineart. Spidey’s suit is tight and thin to allow him to use his powers and to hide under his clothes. So, abs, ribcage, toes should even be slightly visible while adding wringage or stretching in groin, elbows and knees. If I make a younger Ditko-era Spidey, the mask would have more wrinkles and the ears more prominent but for an adult Spidey, the head is smoother and the neck tighter.
Spider-Man’s eyes are one-way-glass and in my render, not that flexible so I imagine them being this round shape and the mask form around that and are held by two shiny plastic frames, them being separate from the thin fabric as well.
Most times I have to adjust the ratio of red/blue in the torso to make space for the webbing but managed to pull it off this time without any major readjustments. Webs are drawn on an individual layer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the lineart is done, the next step is the coloring. I actually make Spidey’s eyes quite dark here as a dark base will make it easier for me to make it shine afterwards as I try to catch a glass-effect. I always make sure to keep an extra layer for each color in a hidden folder so I can mark the specific colors when needed.
Tumblr media
Next step is my highlighter. Simply strengthen the lineart and first step to add a little depth in it. Where I chose to highlight and not has changed over the years, like the space between the head and the further arm lacks highlight as it’s further away, same with the closer arm and the torso as well as left leg/thigh. Areas where one piece of clothing goes to another gets a subtle highlight like shirt, gloves and boots.
Tumblr media
Next step is a 3-parter where I depthen the figure more. First layer’s functions the same as the last step but in a larger area and wider brush. Second layer goes more along the edges of the line art and makes the body rounder. Last is just focusing on areas with more depth like collarbone, ribs, some wrinkles, maybe if I missed a spot on the wrist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So now is the basic “pillar” of the character done, the steps I undergo for all my figures, so now are the personal details like eye colors or hair coloring. This is where the spare layers are mostly welcomed. I give my Spider-Man a halftone effect on the red areas, making the suit look more breathable and giving the thing a comic-effect while the blue parts get darkened. I then eliminate the already shadowed areas, kinda reversing the work so wrinkles get lighter and smoother parts get darker. Inspired by how the suit can be portrayed black with blue detailing in classic comics as well as the fabric in Tom Holland’s second homemade suit.
Speaking of films, I also brighten some spots. I add a light grey spot on the eyes and I brighten the webs, inspired by Tobey Maguire’s suit but more subtle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last steps are brightening the black areas like the frames and logo. A lesser layer along the edges to showcase the shape and bulge of things and a brighter one that can be splashed across, reflecting light. I add more black and white on the eyes for that glass-effect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND… That’s basically it! Things might change and get added when I put in a real light source but for a basic 3-Dimensional Spider-Man in a pure white world, the process is done!

Not super satisfied. Might be in a creative low. Been a lot to adjust to my new job. Might find my voice not too far off in the future again.
But I shared a vote and like everyone got a vote each so guess I just made them in the order I saw the comments.
Idk, in my head, I think I pictured this a little bit more colorful but when it came to coloring and shading, I didn’t really know where I was going with it and just tried to save myself. Just forgot for a minute how I used to add light so that was a journey.
But yeah… something about being somebody’s light in the dark. Go and try that. And I will try not to drop the apples all over the floor today.
I work in a grocery store now. Yay.
