ngl kind of dreading what this week’s episode will do to the fan perception of kabru bc ppl already characterize him as overly violent bc of the harpy egg scene. he views killing laios as a last resort. he was being dramatic. that’s the punchline!

he’s interested in laios’s monster ramblings. he may not be interested in monsters themselves but he wants to know about his thought process.

in a way it is funny bc its such a “the boy who cried wolf” situation bc kabru lies so much some of the audience doesn’t believe him when he’s actually speaking from his heart

while yeah kabru might go insane if laios just kept rambling about monsters some of you exaggerate it. he’s more likely to try to divert the conversation into something else(even if it doesn’t work) than outright attack him or something. like sure, he’d get violent thoughts but he won’t act on them! god

#people hate cptsd folks who get violent intrusive thoughts #but i see and love u kabru #basically anytime kabru is showing an interest in learning abt a person/people?#he is being truthful to that desire. They're his special interest #his whole drive is about people and history made BY people and how people affect each other and the world around him #he's not just some manipulative bastard who actually hates people secretly. he has trauma and is deeply in love w humanity.#he will simply act on feeling threatened (or having humanity threatened) to a degree which may sometimes seem extreme #but ultimately he is level headed enough to restrain himself if he thinks any action might hurt his goal (loving humanity)#he is also just a silly and dramatic personality which can mesh awkwardly with his mix of Love Humanity and CPTSD sensing #severe threats in maybe not so severe situations or #being triggered by small things like eating monster egg despite having just gone thru 5 floors of dungeon filled with monsters #idk. it seems like maybe folks aren't being sympathetic to learning his specific kind of insane despite this being #the 'adorable adventure parties are actually all weird crazy people who care very deeply about their own things' series #again i see you and i love you kabru #dungeon meshi #(bc honestly. same hat. i relate so much to kabru it's wild)#dungeon meshi spoilers #kabru

The first way most infants bond with another human is through breastfeeding or bottle-feeding. The primary way we meet new people is by breaking bread. Coffee or lunch as a first date. Buying groceries for ourselves, children, spouses. Baking a pie for a neighbor to signify the desire to reside peacefully together, bringing food to a wake to share with people you only know tangentially through the dead.

Food keeps us alive. Food is medicine. Food is love. Of course my cat loves me because I feed him, it's a lot of work to go through to bring food home that never makes him sick and he can rely on meals every single day. I show him I love him every time I feed him. Of course he feels love in return. I gave him love first. It was the food.

It's lunchtime right now, actually.

I hate when people say ohhhh your pets only love you because you feed them. as if that wasn't the first form of love any of us felt. get real.
