Good points you two!
For @soundbluster
To address duocons, this is specifically labeled as “cyber syncing” and not combining. I’m upset by how redundant they’re making their gimmick just through its title alone. In the end I have no problems with characters fusing, but I also don’t really buy that it won’t be similar to Steven Universe because as stated it’s incredibly popular. For good reason too, Steven Universe had a really cool gimmick with the gems and how their personal relationships affected their physical fused forms! I love combiners and have no problem with them showing up in mainstream TF media again. However because of how well done it was and how popular it became I’m skeptical they won’t borrow from how SU handled it fusion. Doesn’t mean I can’t laugh at how they couldn’t think of their own unique gimmick instead of following what’s already been done with fusion and combining. (Personally I wish they’d have messed with something like the kids learning about outliers and going on some wild goose chase to try and try and “activate” outlier abilities in themselves.)
For @short-wooloo
I’m not actually upset about the idea of an evil clone it’s just- I mean come on it’s still the same plot as Smurfs 2. If they’re just vaguely similar to Twitch but just “chaotic” that makes it even closer to the plot of the film! That’s fucking hilarious! Plus even if they manage to make it work you can’t deny the absurdity of it. (Also it doesn’t really matter how different they are because in the end the entirety of Shattered Glass is “what if they all had evil doppelgängers” and Earthspark absolutely LOVES to borrow concepts and entire character arcs from other continuities. Which is okay but I do have a nitpick or two about how they handle integrating those ideas but that’s for another time.)
Bad or good news Transformers fans, the leaked synopsis are out and so is an action figure for a new character, Spitfire.

Let’s start out first with Spitfire. A “chaos terran” who’s undoubtedly apart of whatever weird plan Starscream is up to in season 2. They are also just a copy pasted Twitch and unfortunately that makes this entire plot literally just The Smurfs 2, and I mean the live action film not the cartoon.
Second, this implication of a gem fusion style system coming to Transformers from the leaked synopsis. The usage of “one awkward bot” implies some level of amalgamation between the two, leading me to believe they’re taking the fusion route. I may be wrong but if I’m not I’m disappointed. Why? Because combiners already exist and already work to achieve this type of storytelling, meaning whatever sync mechanic they’re adding is redundant. Also this means Earthspark is not only following the plot of The Smurfs 2 but is also unabashedly adding in a very popular gimmick from Steven Universe because they couldn’t think of something better.

Who the fuck is this woman and why are they calling her Airachnid. It’s like they saw all the fun stuff going on with Aircahnid and the Blackarachnia’s and said “nah what if we just made her one tone with nothing going on.” I am unreasonably upset over this right now.

Man it feels weird getting what to me is the best possible outcome for a new transformers animated film and seeing people absolutely ragging on it right away. Films not even out yet, we only just got the first trailer. So why is everyone so quick to dismissing the film? Hell Bumblebee literally say badass in the trailer! They don’t do that shit for “kids” films so I don’t get why everyone is jumping to the conclusion just because the comedy in the trailer is corny that the entire film is inherently bad!
Fucks sake what’s the problem even if it is bad movie! It’s objectively a very visually pleasing experience! We get to see Cybertron more! The culture too! I’ve seen so many people beg for pre-war cybertron stories and now that we get it we throw fits? I’m amazed at the lack of care this fandom has given. Hell I’ve seen people get angry it’s not angsty or tragic and seems light hearted. Upset that Orion and D-16 act childish! When it’s been marketed as an origin story! And they’re meant to be teens! What the fuck do people think “getting a t-cog” is representative of huh? (It’s puberty or maybe the transition into adulthood by my estimation)
Anyway I’m a little frustrated and wished people weren’t so quick to pessimism. I will happily wait until next fall knowing I didn’t waste it thinking about what could have been.
I’ll give you all this though: I don’t like that it’s an all celebrity voice cast. However having studied film I understand why they have movie stars to boost the possible reach of the film. For example my mother watched the trailer because she saw Chris Hemsworth’s name and wanted to see what was going on. It’s annoying, but not some evil malicious choice on the part of the film by any means. Different can be good sometimes anyway when it comes to voices.

I love this lmao, ES is crazy it feels like it wants to be TFP but it’s being forced to be Rescue Bots lmao. Top ten shows that should have been made for teens but somehow is being sold for 7+ kids. Anyway I also wanna draw ES Megan like TFP Megan, it’s just such a good idea I love it. This man needs some chaos god blood lmao.

I don’t fully agree on some elements of these statements. Primarily when it comes to this being an unreasonable or unexpected treatment of the character. I do agree TFP Bumblebee is underrated and under-utilized, but as a character he does get much more recognition in the “sequel” Robots In Disguise 2015.
If I had to try and diagnose why RID2015 may have altered people’s perceptions of the character it’s he did in the end become an overrated “typical” bumblebee in the continuity he came from. In addition, we also have Bayverse to blame. As TFP Bumblebee pulls heavily, and I mean heavily, from his Bayverse interpretation. TFP Bumblebee is in essence a watered down version of his big budget and overall soulless Hollywood counterpart. That and of course uh- TFP isn’t very comparable to ROTTMNT or The Owl House because the Autobot (and therefore Bumblebee’s) dynamic in the show is more like coworkers than a family. He’s also ambiguously aged and it’d be fanon to try and argue that throughout the show he’s absolutely a child or teenager. Making the argument of being a child soldier incorrect in the events of the show.
Also to be controversial, the amount of angst the ROTMNT fandom grafts onto the characters is overwhelming and I am very happy that Transformers hasn’t gone down that path with TFP Bumblebee.
Transformers Prime has a disappointing fandom
I have never been so disappointed with a fandom as much as now…
After being a part of fandoms like The Owl House and Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and having absorbed the endless anguish of their most tragic characters artistically reflected by their fandom, I can say that it is disrespectful to Transformers Prime that it is not made enough anguish.
Where are the Bumblebee fanfics, fanarts, analysis?
HE HAS ALL THE JUICY CHARACTERISTICS OF A TRAGIC CHARACTER WITH EXPLOITABLE ANGUISH:
1) In several chapters the other bots express themselves and refer to him as much younger than them. HE IS A CHILD SOLDIER.
2) He was interrogated and tortured by the leader of the enemy group, with whom he had to continue fighting constantly.
3) As a result of the torture his larynx was destroyed, and the level of damage was so brutal that his voice box could not be repaired for millennia.

4) He was forced to leave his home planet because it had been destroyed and he had to take refuge on another planet. Now he is not only a child soldier, but he is a political refugee.
5) One of his comrades in arms, friend and family member died without him being able to do anything to prevent it. Obviously Bumblebee has lost many more teammates and friends in the past, considering how small Team Prime is.
6) He had to watch his leader/father figure almost die from an infection and the only way to save him was by entering the mind of the guy who tortured and incapacitated him to obtain information.
8) THE SAME GUY WHO INTERROGED, TORTURED, MUTILATED, INCAPACITATED AND POSSESSED HIM, attacked him for fun and on the spot fatally injured his best friend/protege/younger human brother. Then the child abuser made fun of him in his face for it.
9) Not even 24 hours had passed when the unmentionable went to his hiding place, his SAFE PLACE, in search of an alliance, which he then betrayed because he kidnapped Bumblebee's father figure in front of his eyes.
10) He is mutilated again, he temporarily loses his T-cog, his feelings of insecurity within the group deepen slightly and when he goes to retrieve his T-cog he sees how it is almost destroyed. No one talks about Bumblebee literally holding one of his organs in his hands, it's like you see someone hugging his lung or something.

YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN, that apathy towards oneself and dehumanization (?) has POTENTIAL, if the child did not mind having an organ of HIS in his hands, I can already imagine how he reacts and treats his physical and emotional wounds. He is the type of character who hides his injuries, jokes about his traumas and in doing so traumatizes everyone around him, has a terrible sleep schedule due to nightmares, frequently dissociates, and has zero sense of self-preservation (canon).
11) This is not a trauma, but it also has the potential to cause distress in the fact that he was probably used to getting more attention for being the youngest, but suddenly this guy, Smokescreen, the same age as him, appears, and Everyone expects Bumblebee to be the one to guide the rookie, so every time the rookie makes a mistake, it will be Bumblebee's fault. Also, the new guy who never actively participated in the war, compared to Bee, who was born and fought in it all his life, turns out to be the one chosen to be the next Prime. Actually?
12) The base where he lived most of his time on earth was destroyed. It may not sound that bad, but as someone who recently lost their home to armed conflict, I can tell you that it hurts a lot.
13) He was separated from his team for a few days and when he found one of his teammates, his second father figure tells him to go away, to stay away and discourages him. Bumblebee must have felt bad because the one who convinced Ratchet to help them was not him, but Raf.
14) Other traumatic things must have happened that I don't remember, the last time I saw the series was in 2022, okAY?
15) They kidnapped their second father figure.
16) THE SAME ONE WHO INTERROGED HIM, TORTURED, MUTILATED, DISABLED, POSSESSED, HARMED HIM AND HIS FRIEND FOR FUN, KIDNAPPED HIS TWO PARENTS AND DESTROYED HIS PLANET, shot him three times, almost four, in the chest and killed him temporarily.

17) Megatron deserved it and it was more than satisfying and well done that it was Bumblebee who killed him, put an end to his power and the war, but knowingly killing can be traumatizing. Bumblebee killing Megatron in retaliation is also an ignored trauma.
18) He had to see Megatron's revived body being controlled by a god of destruction, who seemed to have something personal against him. At one point during the chase, Bumblebee thought his friends were dead.
19) He became the team leader in Optimus' absence, he was inexperienced and as a result he had two anxiety attacks in the same scene.
20) Optimus, his father figure, sacrifices himself to revive the planet.
so whERE ARE MY FANFICS? If anyone has recommendations, wants to write something individually or wants to collaborate, please write to me. This can't stay like this friends, Transformers Prime is not going to return as we would like, we the fandom have to bring it back.
Pd: English is not my native language nor do I have command over it, do not judge me for any error or lack of logic
gracias

My thoughts:
I ignore canon because it’s too based on human perception of survival. Bots only need energon, a spot to rest, and something to clean their plating with. Then taking into consideration frame diversity, areas with a higher ratio of flight frames to land frames might have homes with attached landing pads. Which might therefore remove a need for interior stairways in apartment complexes. In addition, because bots come from a metal world, it’s likely they didn’t develop as much of a cultural “separation” between ground and building due to the fact there would be less building materials other than metal. Nothing cushioned and no concrete either. So homes might even be wider than taller as strain on the materials from building too high could cause the foundation to collapse. In addition the average bot’s lifespan would allow them to live through and see tectonic shifts, meaning any long lasting dwellings may be impossible as well.
I think therefore the layout of the average home would be ground level and single floor, with flight frame housing including either a singular communal landing pad or smaller patio style landing pads. I can see these houses being connected into one larger unit to decrease taken up mass in more populated places. Perhaps honeycomb shaped due to the few requirements that the average cybertronian house would need? I also think the tectonics of cybertron in addition to how long they live would make avoiding heavily settled metropolises preferred, though building on a cityformer reduces this factor as it can move, increasing the need for shorter buildings over taller ones to avoid toppling.
What's a standard Cybertronian house look like?
This might be the most random of random Transformers posts but I have the hardest time coming up with interior designs, layouts and settings for my writing, so if y'all could help me out I'd really appreciate it...
What do you think Cybertronian houses would look like, in terms of layout, furniture, and overall aesthetic? I feel like a LOT of media depicts them in simple, metallic interiors that sort of lack personal details, mostly due to budget and worldbuilding priorities, so there's not a lot for me to build off of. Add a total lack of an inner eye and I'm sort of stuck on this and don't even know where to start. Hopefully some of you have a knack for alien interior design!
If you've got ideas, drawings, or reference pics I'd love to know, feel free to put them here or in my inbox!

Guys I think Scourge and Devcon are the same person

Fight me on this if you want but I believe that Devcon and Scourge are so visibly similar that it could be theorized Devcon switch sides in G1, died, then got remade as Scourge, the decepticons new Unicron built huntsman. Do you see the vision.
