As of April 3rd 2019, Flash has been retired as my mascot and persona.

TL;DR - Flash was an idol I created for myself, a person I wanted to become, and he's been that for three years. I think one of the reasons I slowly started to lose the connection I built with him was, that I finally became that person. To put it harshly, and I don't like using this terminology to say it, but Flash has served his purpose and is no longer needed as the character he was intended to be.

This brings an ending to this account as well, since I have nothing more to update it with from now on. I am amazed that so many people followed my OC blog, and it made me really happy. <:

I had a bit of a slow start, but my first piece of 2019 is finally done!

There are a few new things I want to try with my art this year. I want to explore some new feelings, and find new ways to convey the old feelings that I’ve been putting in my work. When you generally stick to the same themes, you always risk becoming repetitive, and I really want to do my best to avoid that. I want my art to remain positive and happy, but I am going to try to find new ways to express it, exploring new art styles and aesthetics. I’m looking forward to that adventure!

I hope 2019 is another year of improvement and bright colours for everyone!

I’ve been working really hard on owed art all week because I wanted to finish my to-do list before the end of the year, but despite being completely exhausted at the end, I really wanted to conclude 2018 with a personal piece.

This is my attempt at mimicking the art style of Haruhiko Mikimoto, who designed the characters in Macross 7, a show I that definitely left a huge mark on me and pretty much marked my 2018 as a very good year.

Thanks to everyone who followed and supported me through 2018, I will continue to improve and grow and try to provide more good vibes!  ✌️ 👽

Log Entry 5

PHEW OKAY!! TIME TO WRITE ANOTHER ONE OF THESE!! Wow it's been a LONG time now, I'm really sorry! Honestly not much has really happened these past few months, we were all just really busy. I'm just gonna get straight to the point, Alien had to serve time in a hospital. Remember back when I thought it was really funny that he gets worked up about off-brand food? Well... now I'm getting paranoid and I feel like maybe I should also do that, because Alien came down with a food poisoning, and it was.. bad. It's a good thing that we can both breathe in space, because otherwise all the throwing up would probably kill us both. Poor thing had to drive too, since I can't do it.

I feel bad not just for mocking him about being picky, but also because I thought that this is going to be a quick hospital visit but it turned out that he was in a pretty bad condition. I learned a lot though. Sapurrians are really sturdy type of alien that can take a lot of things that would hurt other aliens, but if they actually get hurt somehow, they take a long time to recover. I guess it's kinda like me and my star gems in that aspect? Anyway, most poisons don't work on Sapurrians, they can breathe in space and under water, they are just really damn resilient. But there are some foods that completely turn their stomach and... well that's what we came across. When Sapurrians get too exhausted, they turn into small kitties which is usually not that big a deal, because they can just recharge (like batteries!), but it's really bad if they are small AND sick, because their body basically doesn't know what to do with itself and, after a while, just kinda shuts down. Luckily it wasn't that far or that bad for Alien, he got help fast enough, but he had to stay in the hospital for a long time because he needed to be recharged slowly so that his body wouldn't be agitated or something. I was really worried for the guy, I mean, he's a grownup but when he's a kitty he looks like a tiny baby and it makes me ten times more worried than I should be. They had a little kitty bed in the hospital and all. It's lucky that this hospital was equipped for Sapurrians. I got him earphones and put on some Fire Bomber for him (but just the calm songs) and I like to think that this helped too. He was DEFINITELY purring. He was still so I got some really nice sketches of him done, I hope he doesn't mind me sharing them.

He was released from the hospital about a week later, but we were taken back to Sapurrn where he was given into the care of his parents. I didn't want to bother so I just went my own way until he contacted me! I didn't do much interesting stuff, just a LOT of work, since I'm still getting ready for another """art""" convention (I KNOW IT'S AN ANIME CONVENTION ALIEN YOU CAN STOP TRYING TO CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE). With all the material from last time and this time, I should have enough to last me for a while, so next convention will probably be much lighter on my work schedule! You know, I'm really happy Alien got me into this. I had no idea that I could actually earn money with art, and if Alien wouldn't insist that I pay him rent for living in his space ship, I would probably never even try. What a great and supportive landlord I have! I wonder if those shiny skeletons will appear on this convention as well. I made sure to draw more cute anime girls because the last time it seemed that they really liked those! And the LAST reason I haven't had time to write a new log entry was, that after Alien got all better and we left for space again, we had company! Yeah... THREE people in our little space ship. It was a bit crowded, but we spent a lot of time docked to planets or larger space stations, and he spent a lot of time away to explore. He being Alien's younger brother who absolutely does not look like Alien's younger brother. He was fun company! Mostly when we were all together we just watched anime. I guess it's in the Eirian blood to be a weeb.

That's all I have to say for now, I really hope that I'll be able to write the next entry sooner, maybe I'll let you know how the convention went!! One thing I know for sure is that I will now also be picky about what I eat on other planets.

How would Alien react if they encountered an Earth cat? Would they be confused or fascinated that an Earth cat can't talk? (( Or for some giggles running into a certain white siamese kitty ))

Cats are.. somewhat unsettling to Alien. It’s like looking at something that should look familiar but it just looks off instead, like uncanny valley.

You said that Flash has some powers in his ref, what kind of powers does he have (that he knows of)? Also if Alien runs on electricity, does that mean he charges like a phone?

Flash can pretty much do anything he wants, but rarely uses any powers because he feels better about himself if he works for something instead of just making it happen. For example, he could wish a beautiful drawing into existence, but what’s the joy in that when he didn’t really do anything to deserve the praise it got? It would be much more satisfying if he drew it himself!

A notable thing Flash did was creating an alternate universe where every story he tells takes place. That’s where Charge lives. The entire universe that Charge lives in has a history and is fully inhabited, everything didn’t just suddenly start existing when Flash got an idea for it, but it’s all tailored after Flash’s thoughts and ideas.

So basically, Flash can wish anything into existence and can influence and change the world around him without a limit. He just, doesn’t do it. ..Often.

As for Alien, his species can ‘run out’ of electricity, which makes them turn into a kitty form. They are very slow and tired in that form and need to be electrified in some way to recharge. Luckily for Alien, Flash is bursting with energy and rubbing against him or being pet by him can regenerate Alien back to his normal form!
