How do you manage your classroom?
Managing a classroom that is full of students can be really tough. There would be a lot of students that are running, throwing a piece of paper, some would bully their classmates while some would just really stay from their seat and mind their own business. Managing a classroom is hard IF you don’t have a set of rules or things that could both motivate your student and discipline them at the same time. Your students are also your children, as a teacher, it is also our job to motivate them to learn and study more and be disciplined everyday.

Is Teaching a Vocation, Mission or a Profession?
For me, Teaching is a Vocation. It is hard to be a teacher, you need to have a lot of patience and understanding not just for your students but also for yourself. A vocation is simply a calling whereas teaching as a vocation is teaching with dedication. You are dedicated to your work, to your students, it is like teaching is really a part of your life that had been missing.

Values. As a future teacher, values are one of the things that is important in life. Values are the ones who define the things you believe as to what is right and what is wrong. There aren’t a single student who would like to have a teacher that speaks bad, that teach bad and promotes bad things. A teacher must know the difference between what is right, what he desire, and the pleasure of his supreme being. His own intellect and will are connected to his values, it is discerned by his intellect and introduced to his will whether it is a right or wrong value.

Morality and Ethics acts as a guide to everyday moral life and encourages us to determine if our actions can be justified. Ethics refers to the sense of culture on the best way to live our everyday lives. By developing laws, standards , and values on which we can base our actions. As a teacher, being professional needs a strong Moral and Ethics because teachers with a high level of moral professionalism have a deep obligation to help students learn.

A teacher has a lot of roles in a student’s life. They impart lessons and knowledge to every person they encounter and without them there wouldn’t be any politicians that would this country, they wouldn’t know the things that they should in order for them to lead. There wouldn’t be any catechist that would teach us how prayer works, how the rosary are prayed. Without these teachers there wouldn’t be anyone who would teach us about the basic life, the good manners and right conduct, there wouldn’t be anyone that would inform us about the culture, the right prize, no one would know or would learn the things we know now.
The teachers serves us a guidance and primary source of knowledge on the things that we needed to know.

WHY? It was this question during our asynchronous class that had me for a while. I suddenly looked back at the time where I was busy enrolling for my 1st year. Why did I enrolled at this course? Has it my dream to become an educator? Yes. Yes I did. It had been a dream of mine, I always love teaching, I always love the way the students react when they learn something new. Also it is also a way of interacting with a lot of people, knowing different kinds of stories, seeing different perspective, gaining new knowledge about little things that is part of the day’s progress. I feel like it’s a fun and tiring job but as long as you have the passion and dedication then I guess everything will work out.

Philosophical roots of education. The roots of all philosophies, it is where you could see the way you think, the way you value your philosophical ideals. On this lesson I have learned the importance of your philosophies in education because the way you think also affects the student’s thinking way and in order to supplement a good education you must have a good beliefs and ideals.

Our first module, it talks about your educational philosophy, about your ideals that having such educational philosophy gives you a drive and a reminder of what you want to achieve, of what environment you want to aim and what kind of students you want to produce. It helps you to move forward when you are currently having a hard time, its like a note-to-self that these things that you want to reach are getting nearer so work harder.

A time where I can finally post my reflections about what I had learned at our Teaching Profession course. It was hard to contain all of the things that I desperately wanted to share. Too hard that when I finally found the perfect place to share it, I immediately create an account.
