CHAPTER 1 OF MY AU IS HEREEEEEE!

“I know this dream of life is never ending, it goes around and round and round again…” Jane finishes singing just before the curtains close.

Heavy applause fills the air while Ocean sneers at Noel.

“Why did you point at me in my song!?” She practically yells in Noel's direction.

“Because, you're a freaky monster. Also, people laughed” Noel simply brushed off insulting her.

“Curtain call…” Jane's haunting voice reminds them all that they need to look presentable.

After taking bows and things of the sort Karnak rises from his booth and escorts the teens away from the stage. The fairgrounds are mostly empty, nobody pays any mind to them.

Soon, they arrive at the warehouse of the fair. The place Jane's learned to call home. Catered to the kids’ needs by having their own rooms and belongings to go with it.

Karnak is about to speak when Noel nods at Jane and drags him away to talk about the show.

“That was a good crowd” Ricky offers a conversation as soon as Karnak is out of sight.

“It's really was,” Jane agrees before starting the conversation she really wanted to have “Say, I noticed something before the show”

Constance pipes up, now seemingly intrigued.

“What'd you notice?”

Jane looks down, debating whether this was a good time to bring it up. Or maybe they'll just think she's crazy. Wouldn't make much of a difference. She thinks as she breathes in.

“I noticed I could move my hands.” The serious tone seemed to throw off her classmates.

“Uhh. Yeah? Get in line, Jane,” Ocean rolls her eyes.

“I-I know that! But doesn't it feel different? Like I could do it!” Jane continues to try and get her point across.

It doesn’t seem to work.

“What are you saying?” Constance has a concerned look on her face and her smile has dropped.

“We have free will. Karnak,” the headless girl makes sure to lower her voice at the mention of his name, “Isn't controlling us.”

Instead of agreeing or giving it some thought like Noel did, her friends look terrified. Well, Ricky looks terrified.

“Y-your eyes” his voice is shaky as he points.

“What's wrong with them” Jane cocks her head to the side.

“They're not all black!” Constance has the brightest smile on her face.

Jane takes a moment to take in what was just said to her.

“What?-” was all she could muster before Ocean cut her off.

“She's just trying to scare us” Ocean yet again rolls her eyes, but takes a step away from Jane.

“I promise I'm not” The doll brings a hand up to her eye, trying to feel for anything different.

Ocean looks like she's ready to say something else as Mischa runs up practically jumping up and down.

“Guys!” He starts, trying to find the English wording, “I have wi-fi up in this bitch! Talia has answered me!”

Ocean lets out the biggest sigh.

“We've finally driven poor Mischa to insanity.” She pauses, thinking of how to say her next words nicely “Sweetie, we're dead! There's no way she answered you.”

Jane stalks up behind Ocean just as she finishes her sentence.

“If we're really dead, then why am I still here?” Ocean jumps at Jane's voice from behind her

“That's a really good point… why are you still here? N-not that I don't love you, but…” Constance let's her voice fade, as she's made her point.

“I HAVE A THEORY!” ☝️🤓 Ricky says matter-of-factly.

Ocean sigs as she reluctantly lets him continue

“Go on.”

Ricky's smirk drops sinister as he sinply suggets:

“We're ghosts trying to pass back into the living realm. And we all try to in different ways.” He pauses for dramatic effect, “For example, Mischa has his phone. Jane actually ‘comes back to life’ in the show, and Noel can interact with the audience. But, of course we all primarily try to with the show. We are aware the living can see us. Also-”

“KARNAK!” Noel practically shouts Karnak's name before quieting his conversation.

It was a warning to wrap it up.

“But-” Ricky displays a puppy-dog face in Noel's direction, who purposefully walked in first.

“Quit. Your. Yapping. I've stalled him for long enough” Noel says through gritted teeth, voice just above a mumble.

Karnak then walks into the room.

“I believe it's time for you to go to your rooms” Karnak raises his eyebrow and looks at all of them, “Goodnight, no show tomorrow”

Jane watches as Karnak walks away with no other words.

Mischa is the first one to speak up as he runs over to Noel.

“Noel! Noel, look! She answered me!”

“That's… Wonderful, Misch!” Noel does his best to suppress his disappointment as Mischa jumps up and down like a child on Christmas.

Ocean rolls her eyes at the sight.

“Karnak told us to go to bed.”

“Why do we even listen to Karnak-” Jane begins to question as Ocean snaps and cuts her off.

“Oh-kay, creepy. Love that you're gaining consciousness. But, now is NOT the time, got it?”

Jane feels her eyes shift back to black as she puts her head down. Why won't Ocean just hear her out?

“Cукa” Mischa glares at the redhead.

“I know what you said isn't nice, but thank you.” Ocean smiles in contentment.

“BED, CHILDREN!” Everyone hears Karnak in their minds.

Jane shivers as Constance mutters ‘Sorry,’. Karnak is still in their heads, whether or not he has control.

And Jane's going to figure out why.

Addition to my AU... I'm stuck on what to do with Ricky

Because at the beginning of the story, he can walk and talk just fine

I'm wondering if I can just sum that up to Karnak controlling him? Like, I don't want to erase his disability for the sake of the story or making it easier for me to write

Roight, I'm boutta rant.

So, I always... ALWAYS see RTC videos talking about how "the characters are metaphors for the stages of grief"

"What if they all were still alive"

"Blah, blah, blah crazy theory"

But I haven't seen a single video talking about the actual meaning of the story!

Or, at least what I got out of it

Like, after I watched this musical, I felt like I upgraded to "seeing life for what it is premium" ok

Say it with me, children

Every story's got a lesson.

And Ride The Cyclone's is live and enjoy your life

And, maybe my mind just looks way too deep into things, but what I got out of it is that the entire story is to teach you to enjoy the ride that is life. And I think most people get that?

But, like. Each of their songs shows a different aspect of life that you need a lesson for.

Like, Ocean's song (what the world needs)

We all would love to think we have a purpose and are meant for something grrrreat! (Alright, Tony the Tiger. Calm down.)

But, the idea is to not get too full of yourself? Like, I love Ocean. But her lesson is to not pretend you are better than others. I also think her lesson is that you can be forgiven if that makes sense. Ocean's entire person's lesson is that you can change from being good-bad or vice versa

I love you guys' lesson

Fake apologies and things of the sort will get you nowhere but alone.

Noel's Lament (Aka, Noel's lesson)

Live the life you wanna. Nothing matters. And, I find his especially really funny because he was all about nihilism, but he always dialed his true personality back because he thought it mattered too much. (I think they are all opposites of their lesson until the afterlife) Noel's lesson is essentially the lesson in dancing through life. But, with his own twist of tragedy. I also believe his lesson is on the beauty, and dangers of romanticizing things.

Every story's got a lesson

The lesson of this one is to find the lesson in all stories. Like, this song is TELLING YOU TO FIND THE LESSON OF THESE STORIES! And your own, of course.

This Song is Awesome

Tbh, this is a flimsier theory, but I believe this one is about always striving for what you think is best, and it's also telling you to not accept your current bad situations. It's like, good things are coming, don't screw it up. His is simply to enjoy your dreams (similar to Ricky's)

Now, we have Talia. I like to think Talia is about not wasting time with your loved ones. In the visuals of this song, especially at the end, I think it is to demonstrate that even if you don't get to say goodbye, they will still know you love them. Now, for Mischa's entire lesson overall, like his character lesson. That is telling us to feel our feelings. Now, this might be a stretch, but think about it for a sec. He often talks about how he acts is his armor. But he ends up weeping and things like that and not knowing what to do with all of his Cyclone emotions because he didn't let himself feel in life.

I want to pause here and just say that it is currently about 1 a.m. so if I'm not making sense, sorry. Also there will be continuation if I forgot something. I always do...

Now, we have Space age bachelor man

This one is about keeping your dreams throughout life. (Ignoring all of the cat stuff lol) Ricky's character and song is about keeping your creativity and spirit and not being scared to be weird! I live, laugh, love Ricky's lesson because it speaks to me. Keep your creativity

Now, Jane...

Her song and overall lesson is to find your identity. Take time for yourself before you lose yourself in the mess, or the ride in this case. Essentially the saying "you cannot pour from an empty cup" it's like your soul IS you. Find who you are in life.

Borthday song.

This one is about how you can "rebirth" yourself at any point! Change your avatar! Become a new person!

Now, Constance! I think everybody got her lesson, but I'm gonna say it anyways! Love your life! Don't take shit for granted! Yolo! Like, truly think of the good instead of focusing on the bad in life. Stay high on your sugar cloud! Like, even the recorder solo spoke to me, because it was a childhood memory (at least for me) and a good memory of when we learned how to play recorder in like 4th grade! It reminded me of a good time!

Now, the opening song. This song (whichever rendition) is about waiting for your life to end. Like, everybody knows it's also about all the emotions you feel and things like that. But it's also talking about the waiting game.

The ending song is literally telling you that it's just a ride. And that you should enjoy every part. Yeah, everybody got that lol

But, even Karnak saying "your lucky number is seven. Be sure to ride the cyclone" like, you are the seventh member joining these kids tonight, you WILL eventually join them and die, be sure to ride thcyride that is life before it's over. If you want to take a trip somewhere, do it! If you want to become a French h00ker, do it! Like, LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE YOUR LIFE!

The overall story is to enjoy the ride of life and to not the ANYTHING for granted

Let me remind that this is just a deeper dive into what I think these are about truly deep down!

I'm mostly mad because it seems like people only think the message is about death when it most definitely is all about life. Also, sorry if everyone got this, and this was just redundant 😅

I have an idea for an AU, and was wondering if anyone would read it?

I have it in shitty storyboard/half assed drawing rn, but I'm also working on writing it.

The AU is where Karnak has them all believe they are still dead, but he brought them all back to life to do the show! (He can still control them)

He has the public believe that they are just actors 😌

(Yes, I know Karnak ALSO died... but what if he didn't?)

Jane soon realizes something is off and that she actually has a neck and her head is on there just fine, she also starts forming back into Penny the more she realizes something is up

Soon, she informs the rest of them

And... Mischa has Wi-fi up in dis bitch?!?

So, he explains to Talia... and he venmo her all of his savings so she can come to Canada to see their show

And get them out of there

Now, it's escape to America! (Because I'm American and know nothing about Canada!)

Will Karnak find them? And also, won't people recognize them as the kids who died on that Rollercoaster? Stay tuned, chat!

Modern time AU, they all were set to graduate 2025. Because, I, again know almost nothing about 2008-2015 lmao

Alrighty, addition to my "how they all died theory"

I was watching an animatic, and I realized that the entire ding dang cart like, DERAILED (I know they say it all the time, but I'm a visual learner 😭)

So! I'm thinking something drove the kids to let go, and that's why they all hit the ground.

Maybe seeing Penny die? Like, some sort of debris from the actual coaster caused her head to go "wheeee" and her body was maybe still in the cart?

So, Ocean? (Because she seems the most perceptive in this situation) saw her head flying, and in one last ditch attempt to save themselves (the cart was about to like crash into the actual coaster, maybe?...)

Ocean shouted, "Everyone let go! Get out of the cart!"

And, well. They trusted her, I guess... and then yeah.

Also, I realized Constance wasn't screaming. I think she reached out to Oce because she was like "I kinda hate you, but you were a best friend to me if I had to choose one"

Also. I'm about firm believer that they WERE friends, just Ocean didn't know how to be a really good one 😌

Also, maybe Ricky dodged whatever caused Penny's head to disappear, and that's how he ended up falling out? (Letting go, leaning too far)

I'm a little scared to go to Busch Gardens again tbh 🫤

I tried to draw Mischa 💀 ended up drawing Viktor from Arcane

Now, here's the actual picture lmao, it looks a little better... I shall improve with time I guess. I love how all of my posts have been about this silly little musical that rots my brain ☺️🤞🫶

Alright, so this is going to have some not, like graphic depictions of death. But, just pretty much what I think happened to the RTC characters

If you don't like mild descriptions of the impact of falling from high places, please no no read.

Roight, so I love the idea that Mischa and Noel were holding each other as they died, but I also love the idea of Mischa holding onto Noel entirely and trying to break his fall

Therefore, I think Mischa died from severe spinal chord injury

Noel's head bounced off of the ground because Mischa wasn't protecting his head (sort of like Spiderman, ifykyk)

For Constance and Ocean I like to think that Constance was reaching out for Ocean, but ended up falling faster than her and bringing Ocean down with her

So, Constance died from her entire left side being shattered/broken/things like that

Ocean died from landing almost directly on her head, snapping her neck and pushing her spinal chord up into her brain (ew, right?)

For Ricky, I think he most likely would've died on impact to the ground (like the rest of them), but for him, it was organ failure from the impact of the fall

And Jane, I don't really know how her head got cut off, but maybe it was from her falling actually off of the thing and slicing it clean off on the track? (Ouch)

If I'm wrong and they have Canon (other than Penny/Jane/Savannah) ways that they "⚰️" please inform meh

Alright, don't hate on me for this (non-Nischa shippers. Please just scroll 😭)

But, everyone has their hc for Talia

Here's mine!

So, we all know and love Talia (she's a queen in my heart tbh)

But I believe the reason Mischa loved her so was because she reminded him of home so much. I like to believe (when they weren't making love in their native language, lol) that Mischa would just ask her to tell him about the land, give him pictures, things like that

Of course, he loved Talia, and love conquers all! But I ship the gays so hard!

So, yeah. Talia reminds him of home

He was all passionate before in his monolog before his songs, but the part that really almost made him break was

"I was saving up to go meet her/ go back home/whatever he actually said here"

So, that poor man just wants to go home! She reminds him of a life he could've had back when his momma was still around

Hope this helps with writing because I love Talia, and I'm sad we don't know much about her!
