personally I don't think if you're a kid you should be using your real name on the internet. very easy for people to find out too much about you. instead you should spend years using a different made-up name that becomes part of your persona to an arguably even greater degree than your actual name and then when you grow up and find out you're trans you have a ready-made name to switch to even if it's probably like Leaf or something

Oc highlights, pt. 5: Scarlet Grey

Back on the grind once more with a girlie who’s been here since probably 2018. I love her som uch youguys oh my goodness.

Scarlet is one of the main antagonists in my highly developed story universe, Towers of Magic. She resides in the Grey Nest, a magic school with an integrated foster system that allows for both wealthy and the lower-class children of Pampona to live up to their full potential — or at least, that’s how they advertise themselves. Scarlet is one of the many orphans raised at the school, but doesn’t live under the same circumstances as the other orphans do due to being the favourite student and kind-of-adopted daughter of the headmastress, Miranda.

Miranda treats Scarlet like she’s the golden child of the universe, most likely due to the fact that Scarlet is the only magician in the Grey Nest at this time. It is clear that the headmastress has a constant grip on Scarlet and all aspects of her life, though ironically it seems that Scarlet hasn’t fully realized this yet despite knowing Miranda all her life. Scarlet is quite feared among the students of the Nest, which is why she only really has one friend — the water witch North, who only seems to stick around Scarlet due to not having any other options. Both of them were recently assigned a personal mission by Miranda, to go to some random town in the east coast due to some light anomalies that have occurred there. Scarlet doesn’t understand the relevance of this, but goes along with it anyway since any time spent out of the Nest is always good.

In terms of her personality, Scarlet is someone who doesn’t accept refusal easily. She is used to being in leading positions and always somehow getting her way, not to mention the praise so many adults always give her — in her mind, she is always on top of everything and better than anyone else. She is quite intelligent and quick to think on her feet, but often seems to underestimate her opponents when in actually dire situations. She seems to hate being told what to do, unless the one commanding her is Miranda specifically; for whatever reason, the headmastress seems to be the only person Scarlet is actually a bit afraid of. She is also an excellent liar, though she probably wouldn’t face any real consequences for disobeying anyway due to her star student reputation.

Oc highlights, pt. 4: Arya

[Humanoid, main, Towers of Magic]

Arya time :> One of my most important story ocs, this time being one of the protagonists in TOM. A fun fact about her is that originally the protagonist of TOM was supposed to be her now long-gone brother Coelum, but after I created Arya as his sister I ended up liking her a lot more, leading to me changing the story’s protagonist to be her. Coelum actually does still technically exist in TOM, but his role in the story has been changed quite a bit and he is no longer related to Arya.

So, as mentioned before, Arya exists in Towers of Magic, which is my most developed story/universe up to date. On the continent of Pampona, she lives in the small coastal town of Shoregrove with her adoptive mother Perry, her adopted sister Alice, and her caretaker Dengel. Arya has never seen the world outside of Shoregrove nor does she know who her parents are, leading to the girl feeling a sense of uncertainty and boredom about her current place in the world. Arya desperately wishes she could leave Shoregrove and finally be somebody, but is afraid of the consequences that would follow on her family, particulary Perry.

In terms of her personality, Arya is very bold and brash and typically feels a lot more than she thinks. Her impulses often get the best of her, as she is highly reactive and very impatient — other people may sometimes need to hold her down because of this. While she isn’t exactly selfish, she can very much be described as a bit self-absorbed due to the fact that she was raised as an only child by someone who clearly adores her more than anything; sometimes it is abundantly clear that Arya is not aware of how privileged she truly is. She isn’t really a bad person though, as Arya truly always believes she is doing the right thing — she can be a really loyal friend if actually given the chance.
