is it just me or is Sabrina Carpenters whole concept very white feminist? like i love her songs ive been a fan of her since her Nickelodeon/disney chanel days, but lowkey everyone saying the new album cover is “a metaphor for how men treat women like dogs” … come on now… how is that empowering? how is wearing lingerie, showing a silhouette of you f*cking a man in every concert “empowering” and “feminist” its degrading and its honestly so generic and boring. and she says “you like my songs so you guys love sex and are obsessed with it” two things can co exist 😭😭😭 you can like the SOUND of a song but not the MUSIC VIDEO or the LYRICS as an artist she should know that. her most popular songs arent even about sex, feather and please please please are probably her most pg songs after thumbs and her other songs from around 2017. I really really like her sound but this concept of sex is so damaging. its tiring to see black women like sexyy red, doechii and glorilla wear revealing outfits except they rap about sex and theyre seen as “ghetto” and “h*es”, but when a white girl does it, its “chic” and “sexy” and “empowering for women” this is so dumb 😔

im not saying sabrina carpenter should be a nun or anything, the stuff she does is obviously her choice and i mean it sells really well so more power to her, BUT, can we admit that it makes 0 sense to call that “feminism”??? if she really cared for feminism she would be talking about the large portion of black women that have been going missing in london recently, the women in gaza who have to use scraps when on their cycles, she would talk about women who genuinely benefit from the feminist movement.
