Alien make-up looks:conspiracy theory
This series of photographs shows the behind the scenes images for my next major project which will be based around the conspiracy theory ‘the government are hiding the existence of aliens’. Three alien looks were trialled using different make-up styles and techniques to help me choose what ideas I want to incorporate from each one into my final design. I trialled other various techniques to consider using for my final design including blocking out eyebrows and different painting techniques. A webbed hand make-up was also completed to trial whether or not this would be used in the end project. The process of how I created an eyebrow bone prosthetic piece to use on the final design is also shown.

Stop cyberbullying:make-up campaign
For my last major project I decided to create a series of two different looks to spread awareness on cyberbullying. I tried to portray some of the consequences it can cause through using make-up, a headpiece, props, styling and different photography and lighting techniques.
Always think before you post hate and remember there is a human behind the screen with real emotions and feelings. You never know how much something you say can deeply impact someone.

Movement and action:part 2
The aim from this shoot was to capture movement and action in the photographs portraying a ghostly effect. A slow shutter speed was used to capture the motion in the image. These were then edited into black and white and the contrast was adjusted to add shadows to achieve the ethereal effect further. The styling of the model was kept simple to ensure not to distract from the rest of the image. Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus I did not have access to all the professional equipment and studio normally used at University, so I had to problem solve. In order to still try and achieve professional appearing photographs, a ring light, two soft boxes which were already owned were used and the model was asked to stand in front of a white wall.

Movement and action:part one
This series of photographs were taken in order to capture the motion blur of the movement and action taking place within the images. These images were captured by slowing the shutter speed on the camera to capture the movement of the model. SFX make-up was applied to the model including fake cuts on the cheek and knuckles. The model was then asked to make punching actions to fit in with the theme of the SFX make-up, portraying as if the model may have been in a fight. Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus I did not have access to all the professional equipment and studio normally used at University, so had to problem solve. In order to still try and achieve professional appearing photographs, a ring light, two soft boxes and a backdrop which were already owned were used.

Urban Looks
These images were captured focusing on the theme Urban Looks. Camera skills and knowledge were expanded upon by experimenting with using natural lighting as the light source. Location, clothing and make-up styling were all considered to help fit in with the urban theme as much as possible.

Black and white portraits:dramatic make-up
A series of black and white portraits were captured focusing on detail and tonal range. A bold and dramatic look with heavy eye make-up, over the top long lashes, a black lip and a gradient wig going from dark to light were applied and experimented with, to see how this would capture the different variations of tones in monochrome. Different compositions, lighting techniques and camera settings were experimented with to achieve a variety of results.
