For all you Americans looking to study in Spain🇪🇸 make sure you check out @studyabroadstudent. All those stressful student visa related issues they can make disappear! 😉
Talking of Spain, ever since I touched down here I have been exhausted. 😴All this travelling is pretty draining! Also, when you're in a new place, like I am at the University of Navarra, the temptation is to really pack your days (a good thing) which means you often find yourself going to bed super late (a bad thing). Pair that with getting up early for lectures and you’ve got yourself a difficult situation. 🙀
Sleep deprivation causes stress, we all know that. Not many know, however, that it can also cause a whole host of pretty awful illnesses like diabetes, obesity, and depression. Seriously, get those 8 hours! 🛏️

I’ve just found an old photo from my trip to NY where I went to a fabulous exhibition of a great Korean artist, Airan Kang #airankang. Brought back so.many.memories! You guys know how much I love books📚 Books - their boundless possibilities and their cultural significance - are central to the work of Kang. How cool would it be to have such a bright bookshelf in my own place? 🤔

RUBY GIVEAWAY! #giveaway On Friday, the 25.10 I’ll be giving two lucky💫 followers a €50 Amazon voucher each💰. To be in with a chance for winning, from today, first FOLLOW ME @studypunk, then TAG A FRIEND in the comments section, and then REPOST A PHOTO from my profile with the hashtag #studypunk. 💃 You’ve noticed that my recent posts have all been about effectively managing your time🕰️. One really important part of time management is making sure you give yourself breaks🎉 - days off, holidays, the chance to do fun activities💥. So one thing you could do with this voucher is use part of it to get yourself something nice for your day off (although we obviously recommend you use it for books and study materials!🔬🔭📑📚) It’s critical that you also plan short breaks throughout the day, days off on weekends and during the holidays, and time to go and get away from it all. Working all the time will just make you burn out and leave you demotivated, so make sure to leave time for friends, family👨👩👦👦👨👩👧👧 and hobbies🎣🏓⚽. (By the way, this beautiful building🎆 is called the Twilight Epiphany Skyspace and was designed by @jamesturell. It’s located right near by @riceuniversitywhich I’ve been checking out!) Whoever made this wall is not the most organised person in the world😅. There’s a much better way to keep yourself on track during your studies: get yourself a planner📒 at the beginning of the semester. Then you can keep all your class times, deadlines, and assignments in one place and never get lost. A good way to start filling it out is to pick out all the key dates of each of your modules at the beginning of the semester and write them all into your calendar📆. This will give you time to plan for assignments and revise for exams. Get organised!🕰️💣

Recently, I talked about how buying a physical planner and filling it out with all the important dates is a great way to stay organised during the semester. ⏰ But in this day and age, most of us have a phone📱 or computer💻 with us a lot of the time, like me at the modern and well equipped Radboud University @radboudnsm. You can also use this technology to keep yourself organised by using an electronic calendar📆. The one that’s on your smartphone as standard will do, but there are also plenty you can find online which are made more specifically for organisation. Most of the time you can set yourself reminders for important dates and even share these calendars with other people, which can be very useful for organising group projects, something you’ll definitely have to do while at university. The modern world, eh?!😎 I travel the world 🌏🌎🌍 to discover the coolest study opportunities and share my advice with you guys. Follow my hashtag #studypunk to find your dream university!

Are you a self-driven kind of person🚀? I don’t mean just that I can get around by myself on my roller-skates, but that I’m motivated to do things for me without someone else having to remind me all the time. This is really important at university because you’re expected to manage 🕚 your own workload and attendance, and if you start to miss classes or assignments you mind find your grades slipping. Great students don’t let this happen. They push themselves to do the best they can in what’s required of them. Outstanding students might even do more 📑than what’s expected of them. It all comes down to commitment. It’s not easy to concentrate 💆🏻♀️💆🏻♂️on something for extended periods of time – think about trying to read a book 📖for an hour without looking at your phone🤳🏼. Staying motivated for months or even years📅 about a subject can be difficult, especially as you might not fall in love with every module you have to do. But it’ll be worth it! Don’t lose the faith! Here’s me at Radboud University @radboudnsm @radboud_uni looking like an absolute hero. I’m visiting to check out the university’s degree in Business Administration🗃, a Bachelor’s that teaches the ins and outs of how businesses operate. This is a degree that will really allow you to use your own creativity – and the ability to come up with new ideas 💡or ways of thinking about a problem is another characteristics of exceptional students. You shouldn’t be afraid, especially at university, to give your own opinion on a topic or argument, even if it’s contradictory to what others have said. As long as you can justify your view, a contradictory argument that gets the discussion going is actually a good thing🔥. Improving your creativity👩🎨 isn’t the easiest task, but reading wildly📚 and expanding your knowledge outside of your academic focuses can be a great way to start. Collaborating and listening to the ideas of others is also a good way to expand your horizons, as is travelling and getting to know other cultures. Finally, training your creativity can be as simple as keeping a notebook📒 with you and writing down little thoughts or ideas that come into your head, helping you actually train being creative. So get going! Write a poem, have a go at an instrument, or do some sketching✏️. #sponsoredpost #sponsored #radboudnsm I travel the world to discover the coolest study opportunities and share my advice with you guys. They say elephants never forget, but volunteering to help this endangered species has been an unforgettable experience. 😉 Okay, bad pun, but in all seriousness, not only is volunteering an extremely rewarding experience, it can also be great for your CV. Volunteering often means you’ll have the opportunity to travel, which employers like because it shows you have some life experience and are sensitive to other cultures. Or you could stay at home and do something for your local community, something that most people don’t want to do because travelling the world looks far more glamorous. Moreover, for anyone who plans to work in a non-profit after university, the ability to bring in funding is an essential one, so showing you’ve already been successful at this while at university can put you at the head of the pack. But most important? Charity work is a noble thing! People who have the privilege of being able to give something back are, in some sense, obliged to do so. Plus, it’ll make you feel good about yourself, something that shouldn’t be overlooked. So get applying so you can go and help some elephants! (Or whatever other cause is close to your ❤️.) ----- I travel the world to discover the coolest study opportunities and share my advice with you guys.
