deep in my brainrot sorry. thinking of "i hope you find someone to mourn you when you are gone" and ludinus . who died but is still alive and now witnesses how the world does not mourn the wicked. who lili thinks is dead but still spoke of with a wistfulness for half a heartbeat.

Taliesin: "The Fool, by its very nature, is a player character. And I know we're going to get into that later. But The Magician, like--you can have a DM. The Magician is playing with all the tools, they have control over every aspect of it..."

So many little neat things here!! Essek as the DM, manifesting will into reality, master of his own fate. Taliesin said they added him in as The Magician because he really wanted a card in the Major Arcana that represented Matt, and thought Essek would best embody this. He also notes the emphasis on the Beacon, a window into infinite possibilities, and, "a kind of dice." He's the one running the "game."

And I just love Taliesin addressing The Fool as being intrinsically a player character. I always kinda understood tarot as being the Fool's Journey--you start there, and then the rest of the cards chronicle your personal growth. Experiences, individualism, life lessons, enlightenment. But the Fool is you, starting down a path, embarking on a kind of hero's journey.

It's why I always felt like Molly would be The Fool in his own Oracle deck--the deck is him, a very personal reflection of his own journey from the very beginning, starting out feeling so "Empty" and then filling his life with so much joy and love...With how much tarot always meant to Molly, how it was introduced to him as a way of telling tales and self-reflection, the quote from him in the box itself...it still very much feels like he's at the heart of it, and I love it--

cupping my hands together in the shower over my tummy letting them fill with water and spill over pretending i'm a beautifully detailed statue fountain in sicily that was modeled after the sculptor's wife that tragically passed and he considers it his greatest loss and he never remarried and wept while thinking about her every night until he died and an eclectic, sort of geeky and awkward art history student just finished his final about me in which he said that several historians consider me the most beautiful statue fountain in the world, and while that is true, he's also been obsessed with me since he saw a picture of me in a library book when he was young and i'm part of the reason for his taste in women as an adult and he's going to use the college fund money he secretly put away to go to sicily with his girlfriend to come see me because i was the art piece that made her feel beautiful and finally comfortable in her own skin after years of feeling unloved because i look just like her (she is also hopelessly in love with me) and he gently caresses the wedding ring in his pocket smiling gently glancing over at her glowing face as she makes eye contact with me and finally feels like everything is going to be okay. then i get shampoo. in my eye
