Could you do Harriet with an S/O who turned against Ironwood in book 8?
Oooo, absolutely! Thank you for the request :)
-
Harriet with an S/O who turned against General Ironwood in volume 8
To say that Harriet was surprised was an understatement. She always prided herself in remaining neutral and sticking to her job, sticking to what needed to be done to keep everything running smoothly. Everyone was expendable including her, and if anyone turned against the cause they were a danger.
So when you turned your back on her Ironwood, on her? She didn’t know how to process it. Not fully. The wave of emotions hit her like a tidal wave and she wasn’t prepared with how to deal with it. Anger, grief, and confusion tore through her, and though only the anger was visible to her team, the rest was just as strong if not stronger.
Why would you do this? Why didn’t you just understand that everything they had to do was for the right side? Why couldn’t you just play nice, do as you were told, and stay? She couldn’t help but lash out in her confusion at anyone who tried to comfort her, as much as she hated even that. This wasn’t something she was taught how to deal with. She knew only how to obey and be a good little soldier - she didn’t know how to understand the loss of the closest person in her life.
She didn’t want what you both had to end, but when you inevitably had to flee for your own safety, it was like a switch flipped inside her. She didn’t know if she would see you again. She didn’t know when anything could happen. First she lost Clover, then you, and a part of her knows this isn’t going to be the last loss she has to go through.
She’s heartbroken, truly. When no one else is around all she can do is mourn you as if you were dead, because for all she knew you could be. She can’t fully comprehend that if you had stayed, you surely would be thanks to her boss. Somewhere deep down, maybe she does know that - but she can’t process it. She can’t believe it, can’t grasp it. Her defense mechanism has always been a bit rough and not necessarily the healthiest. Denial, shoving things to the side, or borderline blocking out the pain entirely. You had been a way she was trying to cope, be herself, learn.
Now, you were gone. She knows she no doubt pushed you even further with how she had reacted too, and though you probably understand why she reacted as she did, she doesn’t realize that either. She probably would think there’s no chance of reuniting again, and that hurts. It hurts worse than any Grimm or soldier ever could.
After her final loss of the season… She finds herself wishing more and more that she had you. Her final rash act makes something click in her just how she acted, and she wants nothing more than to apologize to you, to try and make amends if she can… because now she realizes that tomorrow isn’t always promised. Not for her, and not for you.

Hello I’ve just started reading your stuff and it’s really good! Can I request Blake, Pyrrha, and Yang with a lion Faunus s/o who is a famous fighter like Pyrrha and that they have even earned the title of Battle Beast as they’ve been undefeated so far.
Absolutely! Apologies for the slight delay, but I hope this meets expectations!
-
Blake, Pyrrha, and Yang with a famous fighter lion Faunus s/o
Blake
Titles have long since lost importance to Blake, understandably.
That isn’t to say she won’t be super proud of your achievements, though! She definitely is - you being a faunus makes her even more proud, as she knows first hand just how difficult it is for the faunus to be recognized in a relatively positive way.
That’s not to say she wouldn’t have some worries, however - that’s more just due to her own past though. It’s not due to lack of trust by any means, but at the start of your relationship she might be particularly cautious as she maps everything out and reassures herself that your title won’t bring the same pain and fear his had brought.
Once she’s more comfortable with you and the fame you have though, don’t be surprised if she asks a lot of questions. She may be on the quieter side at times, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a natural curiosity. What she learned through articles or word of mouth wouldn’t be able to compare to what she could learn from the real thing, right?
Though she wouldn’t necessarily ask to keep your relationship private, she may find it difficult if you’re ever crowded. The attention makes her a bit uneasy, though the longer she’s exposed to it the better she’ll adapt to it. She’ll probably still stay relatively quiet and let you do the talking though - more for the fact that it’s you people would probably want to speak to, she figures.
That aside, she’ll absolutely be at any fight you may participate in, cheering you on! She would love supporting you in any way that she can.
Pyrrha
In an almost ironic twist, Pyrrha would find it almost difficult to approach you the first time you met. Similar to how others view her, she may view you. Of course that’s not to mean any offense - she would just be in total awe of your prowess.
Once you two do become close though, she’d actually be very happy to support you and be supported by you. After all, having someone who can understand the struggles that can inevitably rise from being put on a pedestal for so long would be rather reassuring.
She would also probably love to train with you, if you allowed her to. Sure, she knows she probably won’t ever be able to beat you - but that doesn’t mean she can’t learn from you and grow as a fighter herself.
Plus, you can probably learn from her own unique fighting style as well, so she’d figure it’s a win-win. As long as you were willing, she would love to train with you rather often.
She’d always be proud of you when she gets to see your matches. Seeing you excel makes her genuinely so happy, and it would be rather clear to you after the fact too by the warmth of her smile.
Though she’s rather gentle and soft spoken, the crowds you would probably need to deal with wouldn’t bother her. Odds are, you’d both have to deal with each other’s fans, sometimes all at the same time. It would certainly never be boring!
Yang
Yang would absolutely be the one to approach you first. Not only is she just over all friendly, she’d probably be amazed to meet you. As someone who’s constantly trying to improve herself, meeting someone who already is known for being borderline unstoppable would be an experience, that’s for sure.
When you two get closer, don’t be surprised if she wants to spar, and often. She’s competitive and fiery, but that would make it fun at least. She’s always trying to find out how she could possibly best you. (In a friendly way, she insists.)
There are times she swears she was so close to winning, but whether she was or not? Hard to tell sometimes. She never leaves a match with you angry though, instead vowing to use the experience to learn and grow for the next time.
She will absolutely be your biggest fan, and that’s no exaggeration. She will always be there to support you, and if you ever have any sore losers that try to start something down the line? Don’t be surprised if she gets all fired up and a bit protective. Just because you can very clearly handle yourself doesn’t mean she won’t be there to help.
(As a side note, depending on your faunus heritage… don’t be afraid if you end up with a few singed spots on your ears/tail/mane. She doesn’t intentionally do it but let’s be honest, it would come with the territory of sparring with her.)

Writer’s Note
Apologies for lack of updates everyone! I have a couple of requests currently in my inbox, but between getting over a nasty cold and some personal issues it’s been a bit hard to settle down and write. I just want you to know this blog isn’t dead (especially not so early into its life!), and figured I’d update everyone as to why it’s been so quiet. Thank you for sticking around and to those who’ve enjoyed what I’ve written so far. Hopefully I’ll be back real soon with more. <3

Hey there, I really like the quality of your posts and I hope request are open. Can't find where your rules are posted but if they are, could you do headcanons for how winter and raven would explain to their S/O about their maiden powers, and what it'd take for them to talk about it (bc we all know raven wouldn't wanna talk about it)
Absolutely! Odds are requests will remain open indefinitely unless I need to take a hiatus! Apologies about the difficulty in finding the rules, I didn’t realize I didn’t specify they were in the drop down menu! I’ll be sure to add that real quick now though. Thank you for your request and compliment! It means a lot to me! <3

Winter and Raven explaining to S/O about their maiden powers
Winter
You couldn’t blame Winter for being a bit distant after everything went down. She was never cold to you per se, but you could tell she was suffering. It was hard, seeing someone you looked up to and adored struggling, especially when before this she was such a beacon of strength and courage to you and many others. She was a natural leader, and seeing the way she seemingly fought with herself on what to do now tore at your heart.
You knew how she was. The idea of asking for help was going to be hard for her. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust you - she did, immensely. Even so, it was ingrained so deeply in her to keep moving forward no matter the cost, to not ask questions and to simply obey. Asking for help didn’t feel like an option she was allowed to have.
Now though, the leader she swore to follow was gone, along with everything she had been fighting so hard to protect. It had all crumbled around her, the hope that she was on the right path slipping through her fingers like a fine thread. The weight on her shoulders had only grown heavier and heavier, and it was becoming apparent to everyone who knew her. Especially you.
It surprised you when she asked you to visit with her, alone. It wasn’t unusual in itself - the two of you had spent time together alone before. It was unusual because you hadn’t expected her to reach out to you after all that had happened, at least not so soon. She had been so deep in her own thoughts you had considered trying to reach out yourself in an attempt to help her in whatever way you could, but she beat you to the punch.
When you sit down beside her, she scarcely looks at you. The look in her eyes isn’t one of fear, merely concern. You wonder if it was obvious how much you were worried about her, and it becomes clear when she speaks to you that it had been.
“I… Apologize. For how I’ve been lately. I’ve had a lot to think about, I’m sure you know. About everything, including us.” Those words froze you to your spot, your blood running cold. You didn’t like those words at all. Was she going to push you away for good, just like that? Should you have reached out first after all?
“Please, don’t look so afraid. We’re not… I’m not ending this. I’m giving you a choice. I need to tell you everything. I just need you to listen, please.” Her tone was softer, a hint of guilt behind it. It was then that you realized what was going to happen. Everything you had missed up until this point was about to be explained to you, and it was. She told you about the maidens, about Penny and the power that had been bestowed upon her in that fateful battle. You hadn’t been inside that abyss to see it, and so up until now she had kept you in the dark. You could tell she felt bad, and she confirmed it.
“I’m sorry for not telling you after it happened. I still hesitated today. I worry that telling you will put you in danger, but… you need to know.” If you’re female, she’d even explain how if something were to happen to her, it may very well transfer to you. Of course, you don’t like that subject, but you understand why she told you. You’d need to know. “I understand if you don’t feel you can remain with me after this. I breached your trust. Regardless of my reasoning, I understand if you’re upset with me.”
Of course, even if you were a little hurt it would only be because you couldn’t have lifted that burden from her shoulders sooner. You could see even as she had spoken to you how some of the burden had been lifted just in finally revealing the secret to you, and you wished it could have happened before all that stress and worry had built up.
You’d assure her you’re willing to work through it, and though she still has some of that worry behind her eyes, there’s also a hint of relief. You’re someone she wants to protect, no matter what. She vows, even if to herself, that she will use her new power to do so.
Raven
It becomes clear to you that something is wrong with Raven rather quickly. Ever since she returned from Haven, she seemed… off. She had already told you that Vernal had been lost, and so the logical conclusion to you was that she was mourning even if she refused to outwardly show it.
This didn’t feel like mourning though. You were one of very few people to see the faintest hint of vulnerability from her before, even if only for a moment. She had confided in you in the past, even though she always framed it as seeking a second opinion when she would ultimately do what she thought was best. You never questioned it, simply offering advice where you could and following her lead.
Now though she seemed… distressed. Whereas normally she would be a bit snippier when she failed one of her self made missions, she seemed a bit more… subdued. It wasn’t something you were used to - no one in camp was. Unlike you though, many of the others didn’t have the heart to speak up about it. Vernal would have been the only one other than you, and with her gone, it was up to you.
So you decided to take matters into your own hands one night. You stand outside her tent, making sure no one else is in sight before you murmur her name softly under your breath, hoping it’ll be just loud enough for her to hear. You’re in luck, as she soon appears at the entrance and though her gaze seemed hardened as ever, you noticed the flicker of realization in her eyes as she regarded you before she allowed you entrance.
You offer to pour her tea before you sit with her, but she puts up a dismissive hand before doing it herself for the both of you. When you sit across from each other your eyes meet, both trying to judge the other to see just who will break the silence first.
“Well? What did you need?” It’s her, unsurprisingly, ever the dominant force even when she’s off her game. It’s almost enough to make you smile despite the situation. Almost.
You ask her straight up what’s on her mind. You’ve noticed her watching you more often, subdued or not, as if she wanted to talk to you but had no clue how to approach. She seems vaguely irritated when you bring this up, but it’s too late to take it back and reword it.
“Just what are you trying to insinuate? If I wanted to talk to you, I would. I don’t need your permission.” Her tone is sharp, but it lacks the usual venom of genuine anger. You know her well enough by now to know she’s bluffing.
You change tactics though, if only to avoid making her retreat further into her shell. You tell her how much you care and that you know she can handle herself, but you want to be there for her. Though you don’t tell her this, you know there’s something important she won’t tell you. She remains quiet for a moment, her gaze concentrated as she stares into your own, almost as if she were trying to judge something. Something you could never begin to know. When she finally speaks, you have to contain your shock, keeping your gaze as even as her own.
“When Vernal died… Her powers were transferred onto me. It was… a shock. I’m still trying to decide who to trust with that information.” Her tone was even, not betraying the lie she was telling. She was convincing, she always was - and she knew you would take her words at face value. Of course, you did. You were happy she could trust you enough to be the first. Or at least you assumed you were the first. You assured her the secret was safe with you and that you would support her in any way you could, and she offered you the faintest of smiles, one strictly reserved for you.
She knew you would, just as she would keep her own secrets safe, for both of your sakes she hoped.

Team RWBY, or Ruby and Yang, first date headcanons?
I can certainly do WBY! I apologize though but I don’t feel comfortable writing Ruby in anything past platonic as she’s under 18 and I’m 24. Just doesn’t feel right. I hope that’s alright!
Weiss, Blake, and Yang on first date headcanons
Weiss
Unless you had an idea immediately in mind, it would probably be Weiss to invite you somewhere she liked. You’d of course be given the opportunity to object, she wouldn’t mind a bit of negotiating so that you both would be able to enjoy yourselves, of course!
Unless you enjoyed overly fancy locations, she would probably try to take you somewhere that’s a nice middle ground for the both of you. Somewhere that’s not too loud and casual, but somewhere you wouldn’t feel out of place if you didn’t want to wear a suit/dress.
It would probably be a nice shop with fancy desserts and teas, somewhere the two of you could just sit and chat and enjoy the scenery of. Don’t worry too much about cost - by this point of her life she’s not all that worried about the typical classy affair. She wouldn’t expect you to pay for her if the day got a bit too expensive, she’s here more for the experience and time with you.
She would also be rather happy with a walk after, should the weather be nice enough for it. She’d like to show you around a bit if you weren’t entirely familiar with the area, or she’d like showing you more places that she likes. Is she hinting at future date spots? It’s pretty likely, actually.
Blake
Blake would definitely prefer somewhere on the quieter side. Down the line she wouldn’t mind going somewhere a bit more open with you, but for the first date she needs somewhere calmer so that she can fully focus on the actual date and not everything going on around her.
She would honestly love it if you took her to a bookstore and just quietly chatted with her while she browsed. She’d probably tell you about some of her favorites, and if she found something she had been looking for like the next entry in one of the series she’s reading, she’d be rather excited even if she doesn’t show it as obviously as some others might.
If bookstores aren’t exactly your thing though, I could see her liking night time walks. Not only is it quieter, but the fresh air probably reminds her a bit of home. It’s soothing to her to be out in the open.
Don’t be surprised if on the first date though she wants to focus on talking about you. She won’t ignore questions you have with her, but if it hits any uncomfortable or stressful territory she may try to avoid it. It’s best not to press her too early - in time she’ll be able to discuss things with you but for now she wants to enjoy herself and let go of her past struggles, if only for a little while.
Yang
Yang is DEFINITELY the most outgoing of the trio. Expect her to want to go somewhere a bit louder and rowdier. It just helps her relax and unwind and forget the stresses in life, if only for a little while.
If you’re easily overwhelmed with clubs and the like though, she won’t force you to stay late with her. She might gently tease a bit with a playful complaint, but it’s all in good fun and she doesn’t actually mind leaving if you really need to. It wouldn’t be nearly as fun to her without you, so she’d be happy to escort you out and go elsewhere.
If you are into that scene though, don’t be surprised if you really see her let loose. She’s excited, she’s energetic, and she’s not afraid to show it. She might be a tad protective of you though, which is a good thing in some ways. At the very least you won’t have to worry about anyone messing with you while she’s around. She’d keep a very close eye on you.
If you didn’t stay, I could see her wanting to go see a movie or two with you. As long as you don’t mind being out late, the two of you will definitely see more than one. She’d want to make a night out of it as long as you were willing. Maybe milkshakes or something along those lines after while you discussed the films you just watched. She’d definitely be the type to lead the conversation a bit, so don’t be afraid to interject if you need to. She wouldn’t mind.

The schnee sisters with a crush headcanons? If you're still open.
Absolutely! Thank you so much for requesting and I hope you enjoy!
Weiss and Winter with Crushes Headcanons
Weiss
The first thing that points to Weiss developing feelings for you is when she notices just how much she enjoys spending time with you.
Sure, there are others she enjoys spending time with as well, but with you it feels… different. She feels more at peace regardless of just about whatever the two of you are doing. No matter the conversation or activity, she feels assured and like she doesn’t have to walk on eggshells with you.
It’s a foreign feeling for her, for sure. Of course as she’s grown and experienced more, she’s learned to cope with her past and her family life. She’s learned that she doesn’t have to isolate as much and that friendships aren’t something she has to fear and tread through so carefully. She’s come to trust more people all thanks to her teammates and the people she met along the way.
With you though… It's even more different than that. She feels so much lighter in general, so much warmer, perhaps even more secure in a way she never felt before. Admittedly, that fact alone is a bit overwhelming for her. She’s always been a strong person, but such unfamiliarity would intimidate even some of the most hardened of hearts.
Despite her typical confidence, it would take her a little while to approach you. In the back of her mind she remembers how it went when she first approached Neptune, way back in Beacon. She wants to think this over a bit longer and try to find the right words to convey her thoughts and feelings without it being too rushed and scattered.
When she does approach you, it would probably be over coffee or tea, depending on your tastes. Even though it would be sort of obvious that she has something to say, her smile would be gentle enough you wouldn’t have to feel worried that it was something bad. Instead, you’d need to let her work up to it, as she’d keep conversation going about any other little thing such as the day, what she’s been up to, seeing what you’ve been up to etc.
When she’s ready, she’ll finally set down her cup, and though her hands would fold on the table, you’d notice by the shift of movement in her wrists that she’s fumbling ever so slightly. It would probably be cute, if not for the concern you might feel for her sake. She’s still toying with the many ways she could go about this, and when it finally comes out her voice would remain steady and focused, as if this was practiced.
She’d first apologize for how short notice this was, even though you’d assure her there was no need. She’d probably insist on the apology regardless - old habits die hard, especially with how she was raised.
“I just wanted to tell you that… over all this time we’ve spent together? You’ve grown on me. I’d like to spend more time with you, like this. Just us, together. I was hoping maybe if you felt the same… you’d like to go out with me?” There were so many more words she wanted to say, so many other options she could have gone with, but she decided that maybe that was for the best. When you smiled at her, she could only smile back just as softly.
She was happy when you verbally confirmed your acceptance of her little proposal, but don’t be surprised when the rest of her team teases her and occasionally you along with her at how it was “Just a matter of time.”
Winter
It takes a long time for Winter to accept that she has any feelings for you past friendship, and that’s not necessarily due to feelings not being there, but more because due to her position she’s grown used to subduing many of her emotions while remaining focused on her work.
At some point, it becomes too difficult for her to completely brush off. It wouldn’t be obvious outwardly, as she’d be good at keeping it hidden from you. She would still smile at you whenever the two of you did have time together, she would still talk with you as normal as well. She wouldn’t grow cold or distant while she tried to process her thoughts. She would remain pleasant as she usually did with you, thankfully.
Depending on when in the timeline this took place, James may catch on to something being off with her. It would be so subtle that it’d take someone closer to her to notice, and with the two of them working together so often, it would probably be him to notice. Assuming this is before everything went down how it did, he would probably act as the better father figure she never had, trying to help her sort through her thoughts if she let him.
Eventually, she would let him, even if she felt just a bit foolish for needing help in what seems like trivial matters. When that feeling passes comes acceptance and a weight would be lifted, leaving a calmer sense of relief. She would feel more equipped to deal with it, then. If she was forced to deal with it herself she would still eventually come to the same conclusion, it would just take a little while longer.
It would come out when the two of you were alone. She had a habit of taking you out for coffee or tea on her rare moments of free time, finding the atmosphere to be pleasant and calming. It was something she was comforted by and something she often needed after the stress of her job.
She’d let you lead the conversation this time, responding as she normally would with just as much interest as she usually showed you. She was intimidating to you when you first met her - a lioness of a woman who seemed cold and prepared to do whatever was necessary. Though she could still be considered a lioness, you saw more traits than just her strength. She was intelligent and wise, gentle when she needed to be, and always willing to calmly lend an ear when she had the time to spare.
You didn’t realize just how charming your personality was to her. She loved listening to you talk and even managed to get lost in it at times.
When she finally decided it was her turn, you were more than happy to listen. You watched as she took a slow sip of her drink, seemingly at ease despite the hint of tension she felt. No matter the outcome, she would be able to accept it. Even so, she couldn’t help the hint of anxiety that instinctively started to rise within her.
“I’ve done a lot of thinking as of late. About a lot of different things, but mostly pertaining to you.” She started, her voice calm as it always was, but you caught the softer hint behind it. It soothed a bit of the worry such heavy words might bring without any context before them. “The more you and I spend time together, the more I find myself wishing that there was… more time to actually spend. I know that my work gets in the way of us being able to actually plan time together, but I appreciate how willing you’ve been to set time aside for me.”
It wouldn’t be initially clear just what she was getting at. She’d appreciate your assurance that you didn’t mind, that you were happy to ‘put time aside for her’ as she put it, and it would warm her heart. She’d decide judging by your response that now was as good a time as ever.
“I was hoping that maybe… we could plan an actual date. If I can figure something out with the general to get a night off, would you like that?”
You gave her no time to worry as you happily accepted the idea, and though her smile was small and soft, the warmth in it and in her eyes was undeniable. She wouldn’t say it out loud, but you had truly melted the Ice Queen’s heart.

Marrow and Qrow with a crush headcanons
Marrow
Marrow is a mix between soft and a total showoff when he realizes he likes you - he wants to impress you in whatever way he can, and he’s not going to hesitate to try.
Of course, that’s after the internal struggle and denial that he has to go through when it starts to hit him. It seems like everyone else around him comes to the conclusion before he even does. It’s obvious in how he acts when you’re around - his bravado comes out more, he puffs out his chest as if he has something to prove, etc. Of course all of it is a huge contrast to how his tail wags whenever he notices you.
It would probably be Clover who points it out to him first, to which he denies it. Then Elm and Vine. It takes Harriet straight up calling him out on it though for him to give in just a bit and realize they’re probably onto something. That’s when the internalized panic actually starts. When he’s with everyone else, he’s a showoff if you’re watching. When he’s alone though...
How should he go about this? How might this affect his job? How might this affect his friendship with you? He tries not to let it get the best of him, especially while you’re around, as the very last thing he wants is to let you notice his stress.
Of course, it’s not hard to notice. Regardless of how cool he tries to act he often wears his emotions on his sleeve, and you begin to notice how his tail goes from wagging to drooping a bit when he zones out while you talk. It’s worrisome, to say the least, and though you’d try not to let it get to you it gets hard at times.
It’s when you’re alone together and he realizes something is wrong that he gets concerned and pushes past his own worries, trying to figure out what’s wrong with you. His heart breaks a bit when you answer.
“I just want to know what happened. You were always so… happy? When we talked before. Now you’re not.”
Now more than ever before he wishes his emotions weren’t so easy to read, but he knows not to dwell on that. Now isn’t the time for that. He’s aware of the risks for sure, but it was now or never.
“I just… I realized something.” He starts, and he notices how your attention perks up a bit. He hates how nervous his words made you look, as if you expected bad news. He hoped this wouldn’t be bad news. “Everyone else realized too. I mean, my team. I like you. A lot? I just don’t want to screw this up.” It was almost cute how he worded it, though he certainly didn’t realize that.
Relief only came to him when he saw your worried expression shift into one of surprise and then a sincere happiness that he hadn’t expected, for whatever reason. Apparently just because his emotions were easy to read, he sure wasn’t the best at reading yours when it involved him. When you confirm you feel the same way, his tail finally starts to wag again, and he returns your smile with a softer grin.
From then on, expect him to go a bit overboard in showing off just how cool he really is. He has to make up for lost time after all.
Qrow
Qrow isn’t quite as smooth as he may lead others to think, especially not when it comes to genuine emotion.
This man has been a loner for quite a while. Sure, a lot of it has to do with his semblance and the immense paranoia that must come with it when it comes to getting close to others, but it adds up over time. It’s become difficult for him to process just how to act and what he should do about it.
That’s not to say he’s unbearable to be around once he develops feelings - it’s more an internal struggle with him that he’s very good at playing off. In fact, it may be almost difficult to notice any difference in him. He’ll still probably flirt with you at times, but it comes off as his typical playful, almost teasing way of doing so.
At most, you might notice him slipping away a bit more to drink or being alone with his own thoughts. He doesn’t often drink around you, and when he does it’s not his usual self-destructive amount. Of course if you ever bring this up to him, he’ll wave it off with a bit of a chuckle and a joke.
He can’t deny to himself that you’re right though. Whether it’s because he wants to be more sober in case something does happen to you while you’re in his presence or because he simply doesn’t feel the need to drink as much to distract himself while you’re around, even he’s not completely sure. Probably a mixture of the two though.
You’d notice him occasionally following you in his crow form, too, as by then you no doubt know about it. It’d be almost charming, in a way, and keep you feeling safe.
On that note it’s almost funny how conflicting he’s being towards himself - on one hand the idea of getting too close terrifies him, lest something happen to you because of it. On the other, being too far away from you makes him worry he won’t be there to protect you if you need him. To say he’s torn is an understatement, but he at least handles it well.
Eventually though if you were to bring up how he acts around you, he wouldn’t deny that too much. At most he might just purse his lips in thought, and it’s clear then that something is very much on his mind. It wouldn’t be too concerning just because that’s how he’s always been - the overthinking brooder of the group. Even so you’d find it in you to ask him if something was the matter.
Despite his concerns, he would tell you straight up. “Y’know what? I think your charm is doing me in. There’s a reason I’m always around even knowing you can handle yourself.”
At first, you think he’s kidding. You think it’s just his usual playful flirting with nothing to really back it up. When you see that look in his eyes though, looking so much more genuine than you’re used to… not to mention the fact he’s as sober as you, it starts to hit you that maybe he isn’t joking.
He chuckles when he sees your expression though, his attention shifting elsewhere. It’s obvious at that moment he doesn’t think that you return the sentiment, and he’s trying to take it in stride.
“I’ve… been hoping, actually. I mean, why else would I not tell you to stop following?” Your voice brought him back to the situation at hand, giving him pause. You had a point. You had always been adamant about fending for yourself in a lot of situations, and he had even thought it was unusual you hadn’t told him to buzz off.
After that day… you may just have to tell him to let you be once in a while though. If you thought he was protective and careful before, you haven’t anything once you were an official couple.
