Rex x reader (AFAB)

No use of Y/N. There will be swearing in these parts. This is also safe to read in public for the foreseeable future. I will not be doing anything spicy. Please respect that.

There will maybe be more than just this part if it goes well.

This is my first time ever writing something. Like ever. If it's cringe, I am so sorry I tried my best, lol. There will also most likely be a few grammatical errors. Ignore them please for my sake.

It was more of a quiet night than usual at the shop. Only a few of your coworkers scattered working on miscellaneous things, not paying attention to anything else besides their work. You sit next to a small, speeder bike. It's pretty banged up. Nothing you can't fix after all. You open your bag for a few more bolts its missing and you get to work on it.

You did like your job. Its almost as if you were made for it, the smell of ship fuel and other heavy scents were your favorite, it made you feel safe. But you job wasn't all that easy sometimes.. on busier days you had to stop a few fights other times you had a Blaster pulled on you its a toss up what will happen day to day.

A few minutes later you notice a few walk ins, you take a better look at the three who popped in a red headed man a blonde clone and a taller dark haired man. The clone you were looking at stood out to you.. most clones have black hair but this was a nice surprise, not that you minded anyways he looked pretty damn fine you might say but you looked down at the speeder and continued your work. Music blasted in your ears from your ear buds and didn't notice them walking toward you from the open entrance.

While working you notice a piece of scratched up armor. You're a little startled jumping back a little bit as you rip out your ear plugs and look up at the clone and the other two men who had just walked in.

"I am so sorry if you were talking to me just now I did not hear you" you cringe a little bit and place down your tools. The red-haired man lifts up a hand in reassurance "its quite alright we are disturbing your work after all"

You stand up and brush off some rust on your pants and offer your hand out to shake. The red haired man returns it politely "so what are you three here for? Just a simple fix or do you have something thats here for pick up?" The darker man shuffles a little bit "we dont have anything here to pick up but we need some information on a pirate that comes through these parts" your eyebrows furrow a little bit in confusion "I dont believe I've heard of or seen the man you're looking for.."

You start to panic a little bit.. are they here to cause trouble? Usually, when you're asked for information, you get threatened. And you seem to be right again this time. The blonde clone steps forward and starts to interrogate you a bit, stepping forward into your space.

You put your hand up to his chest plate to hold him at the distance he's at. "I dont know what you want me to know." You start to look a bit angry. The dark-haired man speaks up finally after standing there brooding. "That's enough, rex. If she doesn't know, she doesn't know, and we're gonna have to look else where"

That was his name? Rex? It definitely fits. You looked him up and down he backs up "sorry just been a few since we had any information on this guy"

His voice. You may have just been threatened by this man without so much of a word from his mouth, but you can't help but mentally check him out. Just a little. You really shouldn't, but you already have. Who wouldn't?

"It's alright. I can still maybe help you guys. I know the place around here pretty well, I'd say." You Undo your hair, and it falls down to you mid back."I was actually just gonna leave anyway. What's your names, by the way?" The red-haired man gestures to the dark brooding one. "This is Anakin. This one right here is Rex, and I am Obi-Wan." You look down at something shining on his hip to see a lightsaber hilt. Shit. You're in for a long ride now.

You all decided to meet up tomorrow because it was late enough as it is. Walking down the dark alleys later with rex accompanying you back to your apartment while the other two went back to where ever they went you weren't listening, but Obi-Wan had him walk you back because it was the right thing to do. Its kind of awkward just walking in silence so you make a bit of small talk.

"So how's.. uh, things with the war?" Maker, you are terrible at talking to people sometimes, especially someone who is fairly attractive. He angles his head down a little bit to make eye contact with you. "As good as it gets. It could be a lot better, but that's not how wars go." Rightttttt. Yeah, it's a very stupid question to ask. "Do you like working with them?" Obviously meaning the other two men he looks straight forward "Best men I've had the pleasure to work with."

The silence is EATING YOU ALIVE. "You always look this serious? Or is it just a clone thing?" You threw out the bait. Was it good enough? "I'm on duty." You wince a little ouch, alright, you get it. "I mean, you dont have to hide what you actually feel instead of having a stone cold face, just not what I expected." Was it too much? Should you just stop talking?- he let's out a snort. "No promises"

so he does laugh.

You let a toothy grin creep onto your face "you're just very intense is all."

He hums "s'that supposed to be a compliment?" You move a bit to see more of his face "Is it working?" He stops walking as you take a few more steps forward before you notice. "Well you arent what I expected either. Not a lot of civilians tell me to back off when I step in" you put your hands on your hips "most people dont get into my space uninvited rex"

He tried to hide a grin and nods his head once. "Noted" not too much longer your reach your apartment door.

"Well this is the stop, thanks for walking me back."

He folds his arms. "No problem. I'll be back here at 0700. Be ready." He starts to turn."Wait." You dig in your pocket for a moment and hand out a bolt. He looks at you a little sideways and takes the bolt from your hand. "Whats it for?" Your breath hitches just a tad. "Its just because I give them out to people I trust." he nods slowly and holds onto it in a fist.You watch him walk off. Maker, he was the most beautiful man ever. You continue to watch him walk away until he's out of view.. You open your door and walk inside. It's warm. Warmer than it was out there. You close and lock your door and get ready for the next time you see him..
