āNo one wants to look at art of OCsā I donāt think thatās true at allā¦I follow people specifically to see their OCs literally all the time. Bring back being curious about peopleās OCs, asking questions about them and hyping them up like we did when we were teens

Disabled representation I personally would like to see:
-Ambulatory mobility aid users.
-Characters whoās disability DOES stop them. Characters who struggle with things because theyāre disabled. Characters who learn to overcome those obstacles with accessibility, not with magically fixing their disability.
-Sporty disabled characters.
-Outgoing wheelchair users.
-Really cool looking mobility aids.
-Disabled characters who donāt get āfixed.ā
-Young disabled characters.
-Disabled characters who are justā¦disabled. Like itās not a huge plot point, itās just kind of a side thing. She has to stop the sun from crashing into the earth! (Also she uses forearm crutches)
-Disabled characters who have negative traits. We need more disabled mean girls. I want to see a queen bee who uses a cane.
-Disabled characters whoās stories do have disability as a big plot point. Disability is important to disabled peoplesā lives and thereās nothing wrong with it being an important plot point in stories about us, if itās written well and accurately!
-Disabled characters having unsupportive parents. I donāt mean evil parents who hate them, I mean flawed parents who push their kid too hard because they think thatās what they should do and they donāt realize that itās hurting them. Flawed parents who continue to tell their kid that they ācan do anythingā when there are very real obstacles in their kidās way due to disability.
-Disabled characters who see their mobility aids as freedom and love their mobility aids!
I just want complex disabled stories about complex disabled characters!

saw someone on instagram say āyou shouldnāt post your art until itās goodā and that comment filled me with rage so i want to say to every beginner artist or artist who feels their art is not improving no matter how long theyāve been at it. i love you and i love your art and everything you post bears part of you and that is so beautiful. block everyone who says otherwise they are not entitled to freely consume what they rag on.

Meet Nsimba: the identical twin of Nzuzi! āØ Nsimba was the reason his brother and him were taken out of the DR Congo.
As a young child, Nsimba was badly burned and blinded. When his burns become infected, he was taken to a missionary hospitalā¦and then ārescuedā to France. The only reason Nzuzi came with him is because he absolutely refused to leave his brotherās side in the hospital.
Orphaned and badly scarred, Nsimba never really made friends growing upādespite a silly and social personality. His education was minimal, but he eventually taught himself English through podcasts and articlesāmeaning heās trilingual (Lingala, French, and English). Although, heās illiterate in all three.
Having no career prospects, his young adult life was mostly spent stuck indoorsāworking out and listening to audio stories.
At the pestering of Nzuzi (and once he qualifies for disability aid), he eventually attends a school for the blindā¦which leads to him finally breaking out of his isolation and depression.

New OC reveal: Meet Nzuzi! š Nzuzi and his identical twin grew up in the DR Congo, before they were ārescuedā (taken) by missionaries and moved to France.
There, they went from refugee centers to orphanages to a small stint on the streets, before saving enough for their own small apartment.
Nzuzi works in a daycare facility, and spends some nights bartending for extra tips š
(Heās a bit of a flirt, and does what he needs to pay bills.) Heās silly, a little pretentious, and wishes he could afford a perfume collection and fancier makeup.
Despite being the younger twin, there isnāt anything Nzuzi wouldnāt do for his disabled brother! Including breaking up with several boyfriends who offered to let Nzuzi move inā¦but in exchange for leaving his brother behind.
Without his older twin to care for, Nzuzi really doesnāt know who he is. Heās dedicated his life to his brotherā¦and it leads to a mess of two codependent, heartbroken siblings.

I love your art! It's so sad you felt the need to write "you don't condone x", though. I don't blame you, purity culture and harassment has become so bad and it's a shame. Hopefully it goes away someday. I hope your space continues to be kind and you have all the success!
Aw, thank you so much anon! And yeah, it is a shame. Iāve been harassed a lot over having characters that survived abuse (including incest) for ācondoningā itā¦and also harassed for having realistic recovery stories with messy mental health!
I love my characters and their stories come from the heart, so I hope internet censorship reduces and online becomes a safer space for creators in the future.
On that note, bsky has been a place Iāve become much more comfy and share more about my OCs, if you have an account there!
