Imagine, what if ultimate peace was in the materialistic things like money, fame, possessions etc, which everyone might not find easy to achieve? What if the real pleasures in life were in all the wrong things we are chasing now even when we know clearly it's the wrong place we are chasing. If it was so, wouldn't peace and pleasure be only accessible to the rich and powerful in the society? But is it so? Well, it's quiet the opposite right. You may find a rich and powerful man weeping alone in his huge bungalow because he considers his life worthless, even when he has every material possession he could ever dream of. While you may see a poor man happily spending his evening with his family grateful for the day's meals and the happiness on his children's face. We chase for peace and happiness in all the wrong places. While it is right here, within us, so close to us. Happiness is not definitely having the best jobs, cars, houses or huge savings in the bank. All those are truly transient. Finding happiness is not a one day process. Happiness is a combination of many other emotions, like contentment, acceptance, forgiveness, trust, reliance, gratefulness, and many more such things which can never be given a price. The more we keep searching for happiness in the wrong things, the more the right things slip away from our hands. I always hesitated sharing much about my parenting journey, because I thought I have way too many flaws as a parent. I thought I needed to first be a good parent before I start speaking anything about it, otherwise I will be judged, especially in the areas I fail miserably in my parenting. But, recently, I realized that there is no one who scores 10/10 when it comes to looking after complicated little human beings. There is none who had not atleast once felt this thing called 'The Parent Guilt' or the 'Mom guilt' to be precise as thats the role I'm handling. And I also realized, this Parenting business is not easy, or not even close to what I expected it to be. But nevertheless, all the mistakes, all the struggles, all the pain, and all of the unpleasant experiences during this journey is not worthless. All of it is actually letting us grow into better human beings and not just better parents. I realized that if I never made a mistake in this tough job as accepted universally, I would never be learning anything, and I would not be growing through this journey. Hence, I embrace all the small, big, stupid, silly and all the non- sensible mistakes I have done during this parenting business. Bullet journaling..📔📒📓 🌸Soo, I started bullet journaling by mid January when I coincidently came across a video on YouTube about bullet journaling styles. I don't know what exactly attracted me, I started bullet journaling the very next day even without having much idea about it. I started out with a very simple format, because I knew if I make it complicated I might quit very soon. And I found it interesting mainly because I could also entertain my Handlettering and Doodling hobbies in between my journal. 🌸Throughout my life I have always heard successful people or productivity junkies say "Write it down". Whatever goals, habits, or simple tasks you want to achieve or complete, write it down first was the first tip always. I never understood how important it was to write it down or what difference it would make. I guess I was thinking my mind can do it all. That I can track everything in my mind. But I was definitely wrong there. Now, when I write reflections about my day, I don't even know where they come from. Sometimes, even when I think there's nothing special about today, I end up writing more than half a page of reflections about the day. Bullet journaling has helped me to look inside myself, look around, observe, and actually 'think'- which we often forget to do in today's busy life. 🌸We all might have heard about the saying by Umar(radi Allahu anhu), "Take account of yourselves before you are taken to account, weigh your deeds before they are weighed." Writing it down really helps us to analyse each day in our life in detail. Now even if we don't write down what we did in a day, there are two angels writing down every single deed of ours, good and bad.
