Evan: so he’s crying because his boyfriend is too good?

Regulus: shut up you wouldn’t know about good boyfriends

When James asks Regulus to prom, he does it in the most perfect way. He knows Reg is a swiftie, so he obviously has to make his proposal Taylor themed. James then proceeds to learn how to make a paper ring (which you would think would be easy, but it took him an hour to do). The ring says "prom?" and James puts it in a ring box. Then one night, when they are on a picnic date and listening to Taylor, Love Story comes on. Then, James "proposes" with the ring and all Regulus can think is, "how did I get so lucky?"

Regulus: I volunteer killing my parents as a trial run

Everyone always says that James knew Sirius and Remus were in love way before they did, but I think it was Regulus who knew. Regulus is observant and knows everything that's going on in Hogwarts. James is oblivious and wouldn't even realize Regulus was in love with him for years. Despite Regulus and Sirius being estranged for years, Regulus always watched him from afar to make sure he was ok. So when Regulus finally asks James if they are dating, he is very confused:

Regulus: so are my brother and Lupin finally together?

James: ...what do you mean?

Regulus: Have you not seen how they look at each either?

James: No?!

Regulus: Sirius looks at him like he hung the stars and Remus looks at Sirius like he is a god AND YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED?!?!

James: No... *looks over at Sirius and Remus cuddling on the sofa in the library* omg you're so fucking right.

Sirius totally is the kind of guy to use overconfidence and humour as a coping mechanism. He can fluctuate from "I'm the greatest gift to wizard kind" to "I don't deserve to even exist, I'm sorry for breathing" in seconds and I don't know how Remus manages to keep up with it, but I'm suddenly beginning to understand his addiction to coffee and why he's so tired all the time.
