“Help?” Raphael scoffs, disbelief written all over his face. “You call THAT helping? He’s using you, Mikey! Just like he used Sensei!”

          It’s getting worse. Pounding in his head. The world starts spinning, and Raphael’s words begin to slur. His lips begin stammering. “You’re... wrong! He’s not... helping at all!”

“To hell with that crap!” Raph retorts, beak curled back in an awful snarl, but it’s only a front. A mask. Something weird was happening in his head and it scared him. He stumbles to the side, resisting the urge to clutch his head. 

          Instead he just glares upwards towards his brother. “I-- There’s no way I’m letting some rat freak inside my head!”

“No!” Raph huffs, annoyance clear in his tone as whips around to look at his brother. “You can’t. Leo’s right-- it’s way too dangerous, Mike!”

"No!” Enjiiro cries back at his twin, brows creased as he listens to what Raphael is saying. All the twisted thoughts and words coming from his mouth and the lack of remorse in his voice. Raphael really was intent on murdering his whole family without another thought. The fact Falco had that sort of hold over him scared him.

No, it frightened him.

He’s not quick enough to completely dodge the next attack. His instincts kick in and his own sai shriek as they clash with Raphael’s own. The world seems to slow to a crawl as the clash between weapons begins, but he’s not using as much strength as his twin. At this rate Raphael would win. 

“That’s not how we win, Raph! You know that!” He can’t see anything in his twin’s eyes. They’re cold, like stone; and his are wide and wet -- scared. This was never how it was supposed to go!

“E-Even if you do this-- you’ll still suffer! You’d just be a slave to him! You’d be alone!

                 “I don’t--” he grunts from the amount of pressure he has to exert, “--want you to be alone! We need each other!”

   The pain. Raph grits his teeth as he stumbles on his next strike, pausing for a moment. All Falco caused was pain. That’s all it had ever been was pain. But if he did this… it would stop. It would all stop, he could let go and it would end. Nothing would hurt again. Enjiiro would be safe from everything and everything that could ever hurt him, and he’d be able to finally just… sleep.      “He can’t cause any more if you aren’t here to feel it.” Raph murmurs softly, blinking a few times. He doesn’t know what else to do. Is there another option? Not really. He could back off, but that wouldn’t do anything except make sure Enji would be there to hurt again next time. 

   The only way was this.

     “I can’t… let him hurt you again. One last thing and then you’re safe. I have to keep you safe. Nothing will ever hurt you again, not Falco, not Shredder, nothing.”    Nothing except for him.

   He has him cornered and he can’t lose this chance. He can’t back out now. Raph whips around with his sai towards Enjiiro’s head, trying to catch him off guard and make it quick. 

   He wanted it to stop.    It has to stop.

🐢 ❝                  n - no !! y - you don’t understand —-                    ❞ he flushed, holding his hands up with PANICKED EYES as he took a step backward, swallowing hard. he couldn’t handle being separated from his twin again.  ❝                  don’t separate me — us — from each other .. please ..                    ❞ he whined, swallowing hard.

Raph grits his teeth, nose wrinkled from his anger. Anger at Mike. Anger at  Mikey. Anger at Shredder.

Anger at himself for letting all of this happen.

His breathing quickens, his eyes darken. His blood boils. He has to get it through Mike’s head. Has to make him see what he sees! 

He clenches his fist-- but the moment the haze of rage clears and he sees his baby brother’s expression, his body relaxes. Guilt starts to flood in, and he reaches out a limp hand.

“Mike...”

He sighs, shaking as he tries to calm down.           “It’s... It’s not safe. Shredder’s still in control of him. We don’t want either of you getting hurt.”
