Just be realizing that Sirius Black II might have been a third year while MC, Sebastian and Ominis are out here, doing their thing. Garreth has a hard time with his aunt, but this is something different. Why? Because, according to Harry Potter wiki, SIRIUS BLACK II'S DAD IS THE FUCKING HEADMASTER

Am I the only one that kind of gets the same vibe from Sebastian Sallow and Coriolanus Snow? Except Coriolanus would probably see Sebastian as somewhat beneath him, given the way he lives with his sister and uncle, and Sebastian will find a way to get Coryo in trouble, just to show him that he can, and that Coryo therefore shouldn't mess with him.
But I also feel like they would kind of respect each other. The have both lost their parents at roughly the same age, and have lived with their sister/cousin with their uncle/grandmother's place, and have used school as a battle ground in order to obtain some sort of power.
When we first meet them, both are trying to restore their lives, wanting them to return to "normal". Coriolanus is trying restore the Snow fortune through school, and Sebastian is trying to find a cure for Anne through school.
Both have outsider friends with fucked up families. The closest friend Coryo has, would probably be Sejanus, who was born to a rich family in District 2, that has been living in the Capitol for 10 years. We learn that Sejanus' father most likley pulled a few strings, in order for Sejanus to be a mentor for Marcus from District 2, trying to remind him that he never could go back. Sebastian's for sure best friend, is Ominis, who we all know comes from the rich Gaunt family. He is blind, and was as a child forced to torture muggles, though he did not want to.
They are both assosiated with snakes, with one being named Snow (aka, white) and the other Sallow (sickly, green-ish, yellow). To me, those two colours are close to each other, as I see white as this brand new, newly painted wall, or maybe a shirt, while the sallow would be the same shirt or wall, if now one kept it clean over the years and looked after it. Like a before and after.
Both kill someone very close to them (with Coryo already two other kills under his belt at that point, and Sebastian only having used two other unforgivable curses up until that point, using one of them to have an goblin kill itself), yet neither of them planned to. Both have found themeselves at odds with their friends and those they care about, because they don't see eye to eye on the matters at hand.
Coryo and Sejanus deffinetly doesn't agree on the rights of District people, and Tigeris doesn't seem about about Coryo slowly turning into his father. Sebastian and Ominis fully don't agree on dark magic, and Anne even gets scared due to Sebastian's behavior.
They are a lot a like, but from here on out, they are quite different, and I find that very interesting.
We get a pretty much direct inside into Coryo's thoughts, but we don't do that with Sebastian. Instead we just simply have to take his and other people's word.
Coryo is calculated, arrogant and quite manipulative. So is Sebastian. I honestly think they could turn it into a competition. They are scarily good at it. But then one could ask; where does this come from? Coryo might have developed this personalty, his his attempt to make his way through the Capitol life, saving face while surviving. But not Sebastian. His life has never really been in danger (until MC steps into the picture), so were does these traits come from? Is that just who he is, as simple as that is? Or has his dreams of power been their for much longer than anybody really knew? Could quickly make you wonder why he's friends with Ominis in the first place...
But there's one very cleat difference between the two - Coryo is paranoid, while Sebastian is not. Well, at least not until the chaos in the catocoms. Coryo shows over and over again, how paranoid he is. He never really fully trusts Lucy Gray, as he believes it's in her nature as a District to back stab him. But Sebastian trusts the MC. Maybe he doesn't fully in the start, but a troll attack and a sneak off to the library surely can shake two people together. Sebastian at least never accuses the MC for trying to murder him, but does call them dumb for trusting a goblin, show that he does have a few sparks of paranoia and distrust, but not to the same degree as Coryo.
The biggest difference however, is how they react to their actions. Coryo leaves District 12, making himself believe that Sejanus had to die, going so far as to justify, that he will not love the person he decides to marry in the future. He never really show remorse (I haven't gotten so far in the books yet), twisting it in his head, so his actions are justified. Sebastian does show remorse however. In the end, he feels horrible. He has lost his uncle, and might have lost his sister, and who knows when his best friend will speak to him again. If he ever does. Sebastian could go to Azkaban, if you so decide. But he shows even more remorse, when he realize that he has been wrong about the goblins - or at least the none-loyalists.
So yeah, I feel like Coriolanus Snow and Sebastian Sallow would have respected each other - maybe even have been friends - but drifted apart when their inner workings slowly started to show.

So I've been on Etsy, looking at wands. Specifically Sebastian Sallow's wand, because a girl gotta add to her collection, and her is something I've noticed -
Sebastian's wand is noticeably shorter than Ominis'.
Wand length is Harry Potter means a few things. A very tall person may have a longer wand, or a toad like person may have the shortest wand I've ever seen (Umbridge). But length also says something about character.
Tumblr media
One thing I noticed was when I look at Ominis' wand, I'm reminded of Draco Malfoy's wand. Neat with not to much added on to it. Ominis' wand is actually more black than Draco Malfoy's wand, and as we now know, a little bit longer than Sebastian's wand.
Sebastian's wand on the other hand, is not like any I've seen before. Yes, we've seen wand woods in that color before, but not with that kind of handle.
Tumblr media
Ominis' wand is plain black, while Sebastian's has all sorts of different colors and metals. It looks like green marble on the handle. It's also quite clear from the pricing, that Sebastian's wand takes a lot more to make.
So what can we say about Sebastian and Ominis, based on the wands?
Ominis is very refined my character. We actually rarely see him use any magic, and when we do, it's mainly for guiding himself around the school. Other than in the catacomb with the inferi, and when you choose him as a companion with companion mod, I actually don't think I've every heard Ominis say a spell. So I decided to look up videos of Ominis casting spells, and I noticed right away how calmly he says them. It's so quite and calm, that I hadn't noticed it before now. Speaks volumes to how confident Ominis might be in his own strength and abilities, that he doesn't need to yell them out loud
We know nothing about the true length of his wand, nor the felxibility, wand wood or core, so all of this is just speculation.
Sebastian's wand is quite interesting. Not is not neat as Ominis' wands, and does say a lot about their different upbringings. But with the many details of Sebastian's wand, I think the length speaks more of what he lacks/his insecurities, instead of his personality as a whole. Because what is wand lacks in length, is made up for in details.
Sebastian is the stereotypical insecure teen boy, who needs some sort of power or control to feel comfortable. Power and control he does not have naturally, and will therefore have to teach himself. His defence is his charm - probably something he has build up, in order to hide the parts of him he's not too sure or proud about.
Compared to Ominis, Sebastian is a little bit louder when casting spells. It's not that he yells them out all the time, but it's louder and you notice it. Which is a funny contrast between their NPCs roaming around the castle. Find Ominis, and he speaks to you. Find Sebastian, and he says nothing.
In conclusion, Ominis is much more relaxed in himself. You would expect him to be much more closed off and insecure. And though he is a bit closed off, he's not that insecure. He is the one with a family or a dark nature, and though it makes him uncomfortable, he is very firm in his beliefs, which does not aline with his family.
Sebastian on the other hand, is not relaxed in himself, whatsoever. I would even go so far as to say, that he is never relaxed, and almost living in a constant state of tension. Sebastian is insecure in his own abilities, and without his sister being there as a comforting and nurturing support, he might as well be ticking time bomb.
It's while writing this, that I start to wonder, how on earth Sebastian and Ominis managed to become such close friends in the first place. Yes, they're both "loners" when we meet them, but there was a time when Sebastian wasn't a loner. He had his sister. But more on that another day.

Fun fact
While Isidora was learning how to control her ancient magic under professor Rackham, and later become a professor at Hogwarts, Leonardo Da Vinci was painting in Italy.
Around the same time, in the Muggle world, Henry VII became the king of Britain, starting the Tudor period.
Now, this depends a lot on what date Isidora was born, and as far as I can tell, there is no cannon date on that. The earliest possible date I could find was 1470, which means that she would have been born under Yorkist rule during the War of the Roses.
Should we go with her birth year being 1470 (which is actually also the year Leonardo Da Vinci started painting), then she would have attended Hogwarts as a 15 year old in 1485, which is the year the Tudor period is said to start.

According to Harry Potter Wiki, none of the Keepers were in Gryffindor.
San Bakar was a Slytherin.
Percival Rackham was a Hufflepuff.
Charles Rookwood was a Slytherin.
And Niamh Fitzgerald was a Ravenclaw.
Okay, I thought. Very interesting. I myself is a Gryffindor, and wondered if maybe Isidora Morganach might be a Gryffindor, just to throw some dirt at my house. But no. Isidora Morganach was a Ravenclaw.
The only Gryffindor I could find, with any kind of relation to the Keepers (other than the MC, for those who has chosen that), is Eleazer Fig.
And now that I had opened that rabbit hole, I decided to take a look at some other ones.
George Osric was a Hufflepuff.
Victor Rookwood is unknown, but given that he is related to Charles and Augustus Rookwood, I would think Slytherin.

I just realized something, and I find it strangely interesting.
Hogwarts Legacy takes place in 1890 (we know that due to the date George shows Fig in the intro).
This is during the later part of the Victorian area. King's Cross has been build, and the first photo published in a Muggle newspaper back in 1848, but in 1890, it still fully hadn't caught on in the in neither the Muggle or Wizarding world, with both still finding their footing with them, using them mainly for front covers, with illustrations still being the main way to depict something for the readers.
Newspapers has always been important, for Muggles and Wizards alike, being the main news outlets for many. But for many people in 1890, they would like at the newspaper in their hands, fearing that they would have to read the same headline, that had scared them just a few years before.
Imagine the scene. It's the early morning of the 1st of September 1888, and 13 year old MC - still unaware of their magical abilities - is home, getting for school. MC, sitting with what family they have, reads the newspaper of the Daily News, their eyes landing on a headline that makes their blood run cold;
"BRUTAL MURDER IN WHITECHAPEL
A murder of the most brutal kind was committed in the neighbourhood of Whitechapel in the early hours of yesterday morning, but by whom and with what motive is at present a complete mystery."
At Hogwarts the same day, Scottish Sebastian - who was just about to start his third year at Hogwarts with his sister Anne and best friend Ominis - would hear the news during dinner, the Muggleborn and Halfblood students from the London area talking loudly about it. A murder of a Muggle woman. Sadly, that was nothing new, but the brutality of the murder even took full blood students by surprise, one even asking if; "Muggles truly were so cold blooded?"
On the morning of September the 9th, Sebastian walked into the Great Hall, just as a sixth year of a full blood status was asking a second year Muggleborn, how he get a hold of a Muggle newspaper through owls.
Before Sebastian could wonder what that was about, he found the answer at the Slytherin long table, where a Muggle newspaper was being passed around, allowing Sebastian to read it just as it got to Anne.
Tumblr media
In London, MC, would overheard their mother and the woman that came around for tea talk about it. They were scared to go out - not that they ever went out at night, they quickly made clear - but they were scared. Even though they, well to do middle class women, did not live in Whitechapel, nor were prostituts. But notheless, they were scared. Man, woman and children. Everybody was on the lookout, fearfull of Leather Apron out in the dark of London's street at night.
In the evening of September the 30th, once again found themself in the drawing room with their family, when they were shocked with another headline.
Tumblr media
At Hogwarts the next day, owls came flying with the evening edition of London Daily Post, having been flying all the way from London to Scotland in the night. Apparently, a witch from Diagon Alley had found a way to earn a lot of many, buying in several Muggle papers, before selling them at a higher price to Wizards and Witches that wished to read them.
That morning, the Daily Prophet started running the story as well, leaving many students moaning and groaning about having spend more money on Muggle papers.
The Ministry of Magic has officially gotten involved in the investigation, fearing that this Jack the Ripper could be a dark wizard, killing Muggle women on the streets of London. But just like Scotland Yard, they had nothing to go on. No magic had been used, and no one had seen him up close.
Fear had started spreading to Hogwarts. It happened from time to time, that Sebastian and Ominis was too scared to let Anne go to Hogsmeade alone, even though it was highly unlikely to find Jack the Ripper anywhere in the area. But the fear was there, and Sebastian didn't want anything to happen to his sister...
October passed by with nothing happening. Some students started cancelling their subscribtions to the Muggle newspapers, leaving the witch in Diagon Alley with much less money in her pockets.
When November finally came, it was as if Hogwarts has forgotten all about the killer in London. Even the students who's families still resided there.
But then it came by owl in the morning of November the 10th, to those students who still paid the Diagon Alley witch, and Sebastian, like so many others, leaned in to get a reading of the headline.
Tumblr media
When MC read the headline, they decided not to read further along the lines. They had regretted it last time, and decided that this time, they wouldn't put themself through the suffering of reading the details of such a brutal act of violence.
But after that murder in November, the Ripper seemed to have disappeared. The following murder in December was to different, leading Scotland Yard to believe it was committed by a different person.
Though Jack the Ripper had seemed to have disappeared, the fear of him never did. MC would for long time find themself walking down the streets of London, wondering if any of the men around her, could be the brutal killer.
As 88 turned to 89, the fear still lingered in many, quick to connect any murder in London to Jack the Ripper. People coming out of nowhere, saying that they knew who he was, one after another, all with different names and stories.
So in the summer of 1890, when MC got their letter from Hogwarts, they felt relived in some way. Though they saw London as their home, and felt strangely safe their during the day time, the nights were horrifying. But surelly, a magical school in Scotland would be much safer, right?

Today I learned that the medieval idea of a unicorn was not a horse with a horn, like we think of it today
It was a monster - a mix between a goat and a lion. A lion’s body with hoves, a lion’s tail, and a lion’s main, but the face and beard of a goat, and horn in the forehead
Idk what the hell is running around in the Forbidden forest, but it isn’t a unicorn!😭😂

I can already see it happening.
The year is 2044, and the Hogwarts Legacy live action series concluded the year before, and now we're getting ready for the big movie to finish the whole thing off. There has been games and the series leading up to this, but finally - finally we will have the finale ending to his story.
People have been talking for years. It had been public knowledge that this film would come out after the series.
Merchandise has been selling like crazy, with people adding the Hogwarts Legacy wands to their collections.
The count down is going. Posters with Harry, Newt, the Hogwarts Legacy main character (probably a Ravenclaw if they ever made the main character cannon) and him, is on every other street corner. Red, yellow, blue and green.
Finally it is the day. The cinemas are packed. The theme starts, and so does the title sequence. The legendary zoom in of the Warner Bros logo in the skyes. The music builds up, giving us the title of the story we all have been waiting for. Hogwarts Legacy - The Shadow of Sebastian Sallow.

Time turner mayhem results in time traveling MC visiting Ominis in the Gaunt manor
MC: *takes five big steps out of the dinning room when they see the green wallpaper*
Ominis: "What are you doing?"
MC: "Your wallpaper. It's green".
Ominis: "So my mother has told me, but I have no idea. Why are you bringing that op?"
MC: "Probably a good idea to go back and live with Sebastian".
Ominis: "What? Why?"
MC: "Because of your wallpaper!"
Ominis: "I don't get it! What's wrong with green?! It's that the color of trees? Of nature? Or have people been lying to me when they tried to describe a forest to me?!"
MC: "Green is a nice color, but... not in this situation".
Ominis: "I still don't get it".
MC: "We're in the year 1891, and your house is covered in green wallpaper. That is a problem".
Ominis: "I still don't see... understand the problem".
MC: "Well I... see... a problem, especially because I'm not sure when in the 19th century arsenic in wallpaper was outlawed".
Ominis: "..."
Ominis: "I will get a hold of Sebastian..."

There's times when I just like to take a moment, and remind myself of the time Hogwarts Legacy took place. 1890, meaning the a little over 10 years before the Victorian area ended.
There still hasn't been any world wars in the muggle world, or a major war in the wizarding world (only goblin rebellions. One in 1612 and one in 1752).
This was the time of invention in the muggle world. That for muggles was mostly seen as an exciting time, with the Great Exhibition in 1851. And though it may have been exciting for muggles, can you imagine how stressful it must have been for wizards and witches living around muggles? Suddenly a muggle decides that it's good idea to demonstrate a gas street lamp in 1807, and now London is lit up at night. Now is a witch or wizard to do their thing in the street, without getting caught? And now they had to keep up with all these things muggles were producing, as to not get caught.
But though it might have been stressful, things were certainly made easier by the muggles. King's Cross was built in 1852, which fitted perfectly with Ministry's intention of creating a safe method of transportation for students to Hogwarts in 1827, using some form of muggle transportation, resulting in the Hogwarts Express in 1830 (wonder where they picked up the students before 1852).
Other than Ranrok's rebelion, the Victorian area must really have made an impact on the wizarding kind of the UK, as their newspapers and products are still inspired by the area.
What we see in Harry Potter - the world we are invited into - is a world that came to be, just a short time before the lives of Ominis Gaunt and Sebastian and Anne Sallow. Their parents and grandparents saw the world chance into the style of the wizarding world we know today, and when they started at Hogwarts, many of these things might even have been considered still somewhat knew.
Let me put it like this: Let's say that Sebastian and Anne's parents were 25 when they got them. That would not be strange age to have children, at least not by our standers today. That means that they were born around the year 1850. That was just two years before King's Cross was built. Now let's say that their parents were 25 as well when they were born. That means Sebastian and Anne's grandparents would be from 1825 - 5 years before the Hogwarts Express. Who knows, Sebastian and Anne's great grandparents could have been there at the Ministry in 1827, with a 2 year old baby, taking part in the talk on wether or not a muggle train would be safe for students to travel in.
While it was a time of invention for the muggles, it surely also was so for the wizarding kind.

Time turner mayhem resulting in Hogwarts Legacy and Hogwarts Mystery together in the same time
*Poppy and Barnaby silent screaming while hugging puffskin, in order not to scare they cute fluff balls*
*Natty and Rowan hyping each other up, talking about how they have disregarded their own safety for their MC*
*Garreth taking aggressively fast notes as Penny talks about potions to the point of sweat*
*Imelda, Merula and Ismelda discussing who's the best in a surprisingly civil manner*
*Badeea and Amit disagreeing on a very small detail in Badeea's star map*
*Leander staring at Bill and Charlie, growing more and more red in the face*
Leander: "So your mother's a Prewett?"
Bill: "Was a Prewett".
Leander: "And is now a Weasley?"
Charlie: "Yes".
Leander: *rubbing his forehead* "Oh goodness".
*Everett, Tonks and Tulip planning to pull and prank so big, that it will extend over almost 100 years*
*Ben telling Duncan that being scared is okay as they watch Poppy and Barnaby play around with the puffskins. It's when you do it even though you're scared, that you're showing true bravery*
*Andre and Diego teaming up with Sacharissa to give Andrew fashion advise*
*Lucan and Jae sharing advice on how to keep illegal activity secret from the professors*
*Adelaide and Chiara talking calmly in the corner*
*Liz and Arthur vibing*
*Sebastian, HL MC, Talbott and HM MC staring at them all with Ominis just hanging out around them*
HL MC: "Okay this is kind of weird".
Talbott: "Yeah, it's almost as if we were created by the same people, but one of once became much more popular that the other, to the point where one of their main characters is being added into other game plays with a semi official statement from the creatures, stating that they have the intention of turning it into franchise, while the other one is not even considered cannon".
Sebastian: "Wow, that felt very targeted".
HM MC: "Talbott, wtf".
Talbott: "Sorry, Trelawny is getting to me".
*All four returning to watch their friends in silence*
Ominis: "Soooo, who's the Gaunt of your time?"
HM MC and Talbott: *makes eye contact before laughing nervously* "Well it's funny that you asked..."

I need to hear if anybody else has experienced this in Hogwarts Legacy. It could very well be a bug, but boy oh boy, would it be strange otherwise.
So you know how in the Faculty Tower, each professor has their own room? Like, professor Garlick has the room filled with plants, professor Fig has the room with the letter from (or to, I don’t remember) Miriam, and so on and so on.
Anyway, so I was running around the Faculty Tower, because why not? It is always fun to see if there’s anything you’ve missed. So I was getting ready to leave professor Ronen’s room, and I shit you not - a Ravenclaw girl walks in.
She takes two steps in, stops when she sees me, stands there for two seconds, before she keeps walking and goes past me. She goes to professor Ronen’s bed, sits down and starts reading with her back turned to me.
Ronen wtf

Time turner mayhem resulting in Sebastian Sallow and Talbott Winger metting
*Sebastian and Talbott standing in front of each other, arms crossed, eyes narrowed*
Sebastian: "So you're telling me, that you're involved with a person, who has been searching around Hogwarts for secret rooms?"
Talbott: "Vaults, but go on".
Sebastian: "And that you have been teaching them magic that they're not supposed to learn?"
Talbott: "Maybe I have".
Sebastian: "And that you rather be alone, reading in a secret place, dreaming of doing what your parents did for work?"
Talbott: "... Maybe".
Sebastian: "And you miss them everyday, fearing that getting close to anyone else might lead to you losing them as well?"
Talbott: "Uhm..."
Sebastian: "And at times you wonder if you were even sorted into the right house. That you might have been better of as a Slytherin instead of a Ravenclaw?"
Talbott: "What? No. Just because you might have done well as a Ravenclaw instead of Slytherin, does not mean that I would feel the same about. Just because we may be alike in some areas, does not mean-".
Sebastian: "And that if you try hard enough, you can safe all of those you've loved and cared for, even if you kill them along the way".
Talbott: "WHAT?"
Sebastian: "And that maybe one day you can finding something can fix it all. A cure that can safe not just your sister, but maybe make people forget the horrible things that you have done to them?"
Talbott: "...."
Talbott: "Dude, do... do you need a hug?"
