You know what time it is, it's
German comprehensible input
hallo aus berlin: really creepy animation but it's good for absolute beginners
Muzzy in gondoland: gonna mention this again because it's good for pretty much any language. It's an educational animated series about an alien named muzzy to teach children languages
Munich supercrew: Munich super crew is a german band dedicated to creating songs for beginners in german
Harry gefangen in der Zeit: This is a series created by the german government. I looked up dw learn german online to find the series and questions that go along with it. It's partially in English but there's progressively more german as you go along
Nicos weg: another DW classic. There are courses for a1 a2 and b1 level to learn german through a telenovela.
Treffpunkt berlin: a series that goes along with the deutsch aktuell textbook, but all the episodes are free online. The quality is bad but the series is actually pretty entertaining
Extra auf deutsch: the classic language learning telenovela. It's significantly harder than things like hallo aus berlin, so I'd recommend this more for a2 to b1 learners

I love the annual fall reawakening of the studyblr community. I'm invigorated. I could write an essay. The urge to rewrite my class notes is strong. I'm making my plots pretty again.

i'm watching a Deltarune LP in Japanese and found out that Tenna has a cute quirk where he ends a lot of his sentences with でしょう ("deshou") but he combines it with SHOW in English ("でSHOW" or "deSHOW")

I love people that learn Spanish without having to. People that purposefully CHOOSE Spanish. People who talk to us native speakers in Spanish even if they aren't perfect in it or are scared or anxious but they do it !! I love when they are excited to just get the chance to do it !!!!!!
I see you loving my language. That's enough for me and just for doing that you don't have anything to be ashamed of, I don't care about anything else. When you try to talk to a native speaker in their language you are showing them RESPECT, you are saying: "I see you". So all the people that laugh or get mad at other people for not speaking perfectly are stupids who cannot see that.
I love all your accents and your mistakes because they show the relationship between your languages and mine, they show the ways in which our grammars and phonetics differ and in which ways they relate. Your mistakes not only teach you but also us. They show us how big the world is and how different people think and navigate the world depending on their language.
Your mistakes are the bridge between your language and mine, between your culture and mine!!!
That's nothing to be ashamed of, you shouldn't care about the ridiculous opinion of anyone who can't appreciate the diversity in languages and dialects that we humans have.
I could talk hours about colonisation and how English is taking over everything nowadays and how every not-native English speaker is held to ridiculous standards because of the existing hierarchy (and how other languages have colonised and eradicated other languages and cultures, including Spanish) but that's not today's post. I mention it because it's one of the reasons we feel so much guilt and shame when we speak another language when living in another country, because the society has taught us that other accents have NO PLACE in the country (because "immigrants don't have a place in the country"-> which country I'm talking about? Any country, actually, specially European countries and USA. Don't buy that fascist, racist and colonial bullshit)
Languages are for communication, love, fun and exploration. Not for being the perfect worker or citizen. Learning the language of the country you live in is super important because of respect towards the locals and for socialising, but that DOESN'T MEAN that you must achieve perfection or a near native accent in order to have humans rights.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk!!!!🧡 Watch 1899 (netflix) and you'll FEEL what I try to explain here🫶🏻🫶🏻 languages are beautiful and a means to communicate and connect with other humans.
(PD: idgaf if I don't speak perfect English, I've lived and worked outside of Spain and people understand me just fine and that's enough. You can also use your HANDS if you get in trouble or don't find the words. Some people love my accent and others mock me, but you know what? I still understand their mocking words and they understand my conversations so💋 que soporten)

Spanish comprehensible input for beginners-
(On a scale of absolute to intermediate beginner)
Muzzy in gondoland (spanish)- old, really weird. But you will learn if you watch it. Introductions, numbers, basic vocab. Very easy.
Mi vida loca BBC- more phrases than vocab. A little tougher
Señor wooly music- has a ton of free stuff on his yt that's really good. Fan made student covers fill in the gaps in his content after he pay walled some of it. You can buy a website subscription but it's expensive
Dreaming spanish- a gold mine of stories and vlogs for people of all levels, especially beginners.
Bluey in spanish- I mean, need I say more? It's really good. Ccs in spanish too, for Latin American or castillian spanish.
Spanish after hours- LAURA MI AMOR this woman genuinely seems like the nicest person. Posts mostly in spanish but has some good explanation videos in English that will really help boost your vocab. Has videos for absolute beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced learners. She's amazing. She also has authentic conversations sometimes with people.

If you mde a Pokemon Yellow translation I would deffo play it, it was my first Pokemon game as a kid
Good news: I got bored last week and started doing exactly that!
Turns out someone had the exact same idea as me in 2018 and has already translated a bit of Pokémon Red, so my plan is to replicate their steps and [hopefully] work on a fully functioning Welsh-language version of Yellow!
Of course, the first Pokémon games are notoriously buggy and I have a feeling that changing so much text will invoke the wrath of Missingno (Rhifargoll?), but it'll be a fun side project as well as a juicy translation challenge.
But before I undertake translating the game as a whole, I'm keen to nail some of the keywords first, just to keep them consistent as I go through each line of text.
And what better place to start than with the Pokémon themselves?
(I was tempted to change the male and female Nidoran to NIDORYN and NIDORAN respectively as a play on 'hogyn' and 'hogan', but I think I'll just stick to their original names as they were originally meant to be the 'same' Pokémon.)
I think the biggest challenge I'll face is sticking to the 10-character limit for keywords. For example, ANTIDOTE should be GWRTHWENWYN, but that exceeds the limit by one character. Do I abbreviate like they did with PSNPOWDER, or do I invent a new word like DIWENWYN ('unpoison')? I don't know yet... but it's fun nevertheless!
Another issue is the fact that the ROM doesn't allow circumflexes as special characters. I'd try and avoid words with circumflexes all together, but DŴR (water) is utterly unavoidable as it's a Pokémon type. Do I just go with DWR, or do I acknowledge the circumflex with a clunky DW^R? Again, I don't know yet... but I'll figure it out. Slowly.
