Also, Liliana saying 'take Ludinus out of the equation, is freeing Predathos so terrible?' is obviously bad for the reasons listed in the show, but also...ma'am, you can't take him out of the equation. He's the one who wrote it on the board.
And on some level, she clearly realizes this, because she also tried to argue that Ludinus is just following Predathos' plan, except that also doesn't work, because that implies that Predathos is okay with what Ludinus has done.
Liliana trying to say she wasn’t aware of the violence the Vanguard committed, specifically in a retort to Orym saying they murdered his father and husband…when the attack on Zephrah was literally a test for the plan to capture Vax, a plan which Liliana played the key role of actually being the one to capture Vax.
Like ma’am, ‘I didn’t know’ is something a tangential ally or low level grunt says to try to escape retribution, not one of the damn leaders of the organization.
Imagine if Darth Vader tried to tell Luke he’d only recently become aware of the crimes of the Empire.
I wonder what Sam’s going to do for his backup character. Like, there were other members of the Nein that filled Molly’s niche, so nothing was really lossed by Taliesin switching to a healer (especially since it freed Jester up to also be a blaster).
But without FCG, healing falls to Fearne and Laudna, who aren’t exactly built to be primarily healers.
Will say though, gotta give Weepe* kudos for having the patience and…humility is not the right word…competence? To just lay low and wait for an opportunity instead of trying to grandstand.
Which of course does lead back to Imelda and how much does she know?
*So what do we think? Stolen identity? Or made up name?
Originally, we were led to believe that the reason Moc Weepe got so much Valor is because he exposed the Breach to the Trust. However, now it turns out the Trust knew the entire time. According to Costigan, the entire purchase of Midst was an excuse to get on the islet to capture them.
So why did Weepe get so much Valor? There’s no way that confirming something they already knew better enough Valor to jump him right into the Upper Trust, even with all of those multipliers.
Which really leads back to Imelda. Why was she the only Notary sent to Midst? Why her specifically? I really don’t think her meeting Weepe was coincidental. Especially considering she sicked Phineas on him at the time most guaranteed to burn every bridge he had on Midst. Also, the amount of authority she has seems oddly high compared to the rest of the Notaries.
