Midst asks a lot of important questions, such as: what if the stock market was for sin and good deeds? What if nighttime was a sentient soup that will kill you (or make you float)? What if the military’s psyop for recruitment wasn’t a tiktok egirl but a handsome buff man starring in a serialized radio play version of the military’s adventures? What if a guy called Phineas turned into a broken shell of a man? What if your babysitter was the coolest woman alive but also killed your friend the retiree with an upside down mouth? All this and much more.

Kozma Laszlo really sat down to dinner with the Upper Trust and said ‘listen up 5’s, a 10 is talking.’

Kozma: “The Breach isn’t just out there. It’s in here: inside the Trust, inside the Company, inside this city. Maybe inside this very room.”

If I had a nickel every time a character I liked who struggled with perfectionism and control issues and came off as harsh at times was frequently maligned within the fandom for this behavior, only for it to later come out in the narrative that they were the recipient of far worse treatment and were merely not yet sufficient in their application of an axe to the vicious cycle visited upon them, I'd actually have a really big nickel collection

it's incredibly amusing to me that lark and phineas were the first ones to set out on a rescue mission and it was this whole big moment for both of their arcs and yet harry/saskia/tzila all got to sherman first. relatedly, the funniest possible thing to happen next would be for lark and phineas to also show up to this apartment, if only because i desperately want everyone to have to explain to the two of them what the hell Hieronymous Fucking Loxlee is doing in this situation

Pick a Tearror!
Not enough people are listening to Midst imo, so I'm going to do my level best to fix that by making this poll! Please choose a tearror to be afflicted by.
All of these are canonical, and this doesn't even come close to covering the weirdness of the Fold from which tearrors originate. Please, if you think these sound fun, go listen to Midst.

listening to fault is like. what do you mean the cycles of abuse and generational trauma are perpetuated on every level within a hierarchical capitalist cult based on subjectively quantifying the values of good & bad actions

Just a comparison:
"You have one day to formally agree to my demands. If you instead use this day to, I dunno, figure out how you’re gonna fuck with me, I’m gonna fuckin’ kill you"
-Kozma Lazlo, s3 e7
But since you’re comin’ to us, you’re gonna wait for US. And I just wanna be clear about one thing, Mr. Concord… That, of course… if you’re fucking with us…
… we’re gonna fuckin’ kill you.
-"Moc Weepe" s1 e2
