My goals for this weekend:

collect the fics into a round-up post, so we have one easily rebloggable space to find everything

track down any loose ends or fics (either pitch hitters, or people who I just didn’t get on the blog the first time)

send out a thank you/follow up form to see what we can approve on for the next time, and to see if people want to do a next time and when that would be appropriate.

Of Angels and Missed Dinner Reservations

For @falcondiment, who deserves everything good and who I not only got the pleasure of prompting, but coincidentally got assigned to when I offered to pinch hit for the Samsteve gift exchange.

This is all Bucky’s fault.

When it happens, for just a minute Steve wishes that he’d never met Bucky Barnes ever in his entire life, then he instantly remembers Hydra and trauma and pretty quickly he starts to feel pretty guilty about it.

“Why do we even HAVE that lever?” Bucky asks, still gaping.

The lever in question is a direct route to Avengers tower’s trash chute. When you pull it, their little table in the kitchen flips over itself and all your trash falls down below to be sucked up for forever and ever and probably compacted then reused blah blah blah.

The lever flips their kitchen table. The very same table that Steve had just set down Sam’s anniversary gifts.

Steve breathes out nice and slow, forcing himself to remember that punching his best friend in the face wouldn’t do much good for their situation.

“For trash.” He says calmly.

“Oh.” Bucky says. He screws his face up. “Well. Sam’s gifts are in the trash.”

“Sam’s gifts are in the trash.”

Of the FORTY-NINE people who signed up for the exchange, THIRTY-EIGHT of the gifts have been posted.  Since I sent out the email, three have responded back that their gift is on the way.  So, I’m looking at maybe EIGHT.

We still have a couple people who haven’t turned in their gifts yet.  I apologize.  I let things slide this week, because, frankly, the US Political Scene is INSANE and was pulling my focus.

I have emailed everyone who hasn’t turned in their gift yet.  I asked them to email me back within the next 24 hours.  If they don’t get back to me by tomorrow evening, I will email pitch hitters for the remaining gifts.
