My exceptionally late entry for the SamSteve Gift Exchange. This is for Downwarddnaspiral on Tumblr and I really hope they can forgive me for being so behind. Grad School Applications got the better of me. Anyway, I hope you enjoy. It’s kind of rush job, self-beta’d (so all mistakes are mine) and as always, I’m not particularly happy with the end result.

Harry as an older artist and Eggsy as his unsuspecting Muse. Eggsy takes Daisy to the park every day and every day Harry sits on a park bench and sketches him. His smile, his eyes, his pink cheeks. Eventually it's Daisy that asks why he keeps drawing her brother.

i !! love !! this !!! okay, first, is Eggsy aware Harry’s drawing him? Is he oblivious to it all and it takes him Daisy to realise or, is he aware and think it’s cute and thats why he comes back, to indulges the handsome old stranger

Harry has to get used to a few things when Eggsy moves in when with him. He almost drops is breakfast plate the first time he sees Eggsy walking around the house in his tiny, black, gymnast's shorts. Cuts his finger in the kitchen when he sees Eggsy bend over to pull something out of the oven. Almost trips over himself when he walks in on Eggsy doing his morning stretches. Eggsy has no idea why Harry suddenly seems so clumsy.

Merlin would probably snort in his ear, whenever he saw Harry doing something dumb because Eggsy got him distracted.

And when Eggsy realizes (or is told by someone, bc he's thick like that), he'd use it against Harry.

Like, getting Harry to agree to something? Easy, just put on his gym shorts, and Harry isn't able to talk coherently and keep his eyes open at the same time, so he'll just nod and Eggsy will have it his way.

Okay but think about Eggsy running into one of his old johns while doing work for Kingsman. And maybe the guy is one of Dean's friends so he's really gross and says all kinds of nasty things but Eggsy has to keep it together for the sake of the mission knowing that Merlin and Harry can hear everything that's being said, can infer what kind of work he did before joining their ranks. When he gets back, Harry wants to talk about it, wants to get everything out in the open but Eggsy doesn't budge

So eventually Harry stops asking until another mission comes up and this time, their target is another acquaintance of Eggsy’s. Eggsy assures them that he can handle it, knows exactly what the man likes in bed (he secretly doesn’t want Roxy to get blindsided by the creep), and he won’t fuck things up. It goes about as well as you’d expect and Harry ends up with a pretty broken Eggsy to patch up.

I can imagine Harry and Merlin being appalled, and Egssy thinking they’re like, appalled at him, when in honesty, they’re just really like to punch the first guy for being gross to Eggsy and making him feel uncomfortable (and bc i believe they’re both gentleman and that sort of behaviour doesn’t tick right with them)

Imagine Harry being reluctant to let Eggys go on the mission, because well, it’d probably go as well as his last run in with one of those men, but Eggsy wins him over, convincing that he know how to take care of himself now, and that it was best him than someone else who didn’t know the guy. 

ALSO, him patching Eggsy up not just in the literal sense and cleaning him up, patching some bruises, and pulling him close, petting his hair and even though Eggsy still won’t talk much about it (not much more than a few grumbles and murmurs), but Harry will tell him that it doesn’t matter what he did before, that he cares and always will care for Eggsy the same way, and that he doesn’t love him despise that. That he loves him for everything that he was, and he is, and he wouldn’t change Eggsy for nothing. 

Afterwards when he gets Eggsy in bed and sleeping, he calls Merlin to let him know he’d like to have some alone time with their mark (that is, if Eggys didn’t kill him already idk)

After Harry comes back from the dead, Eggsy doesn't go to him immediately. In fact, if Harry had to guess, he'd say Eggsy was avoiding him. He tests his theory several times and finds that yes, Eggsy is going out of his way to keep his distance. Harry's never been one to beat around the bush so he doesn't hesitate to pull Eggsy aside and ask him what's wrong. It doesn't take much to break the boy, to find out that his last words stuck with Eggsy. And now Eggsy doesn't want to disappoint (1/?)

him again. And maybe Harry’s heart breaks just a little bit because he knows that Eggsy’s been carrying this around despite his success on missions. Despite the fact that he’s become one of the Kingsmens’ most respected agents. He still thinks that Harry’ll will be disappointed in him. Harry makes sure to assure him that he never meant to hurt him that way because regardless of how cocky Eggsy seems, sometimes he needs just a little reassurance (2/2)

:’( oh my god, yes, and harry making a point to always tell eggsy how well he’s done after missions from now on, and how proud he is of him. and how he always knew he had been right to bring him into kingsman and that he’s one of the best agents they’ve ever had
