World Cup Tickets Sold Out
A bit angry, a bit sad, a lot frustrated. I was not able to get tickets to any matches today, and it appears that there are no longer any tickets for sale from FIFA.
This means I will just have to show up in Brasil and hope for the best.

took my photo with the national bird of Bolivia, the condor! This condor has some great moves in the carnaval, he dances around and swoops through the audience, extending its wings.

testing out my skills on the cymbals. These "platillos" are quite heavy, but make a great sound. The members of this band have their own small dance routine when playing the cymbals.
The president of Bolivia, Evo Morales was a "platillero" in a band for the oruro carnaval when he was younger.

This blurry little photo was snapped as fire was shooting out of the mask of a diablo. One of the most famous dance troupes of the carnaval was the "Diablada Urus." This group is known for their pyrotechnics, fire throwing masks, fireworks, and light show that joins their dance.
The masks look massive and can shoot out colourful (blue, green, or red) fire

photo with a bear
The "oso" is one of the most loved performers in the carnaval. People like to chant for the bears. They accompany the "Diablos/Diablada" dance group. They are cute and funny little creatures.

challando mis miniaturas. His words were in a mix of Spanish and Quechua, but he wished us good spirits to help in our health and our studies. He burned ashes, and coca, poured water in our hands.

Trip today to the "alacitas" a very cute month long festival where you buy everything in miniature, and have it blessed "challado" by a shaman "yatiri" with the hopes that the miniatures will be real.
I got a suitcase to travel + mad cash monies, a new laptop, and a World Cup trophy so I make it to brasil! The mini rooster is supposed to be for a boyfriend (not sure I want that now) but got one anyway. Boys would buy a hen for a girlfriend.
People buy miniature houses, cars, diplomas, farm animals, foods, stores, mobile phones, etc. Anything you can think of they will have in miniature.
