Thank GOD this blog is over.

I knew, vaguely, someday, that this would probably happen. I used Gmod partly as a creative move— I felt like it created an uncanny level of detachment and distance from the world, which I felt represented sanitization and our POV character perfectly… and also because I couldn’t draw. I can draw now. That’s slightly less important and majorly less insightful artistic vision stuff.

There are rumors that the takedown notice is false. If it is, I don’t see the Gmod team going back on their choice anyway. It’s 20 years of work they have to go through and then 20 years of work to undo it for something that may come back and be real.

Now I highly doubt this means Pistachio’s little corner of tumblr is doomed, but I’m now going to go through the process of archiving this blog. Obviously if the comic is somehow taken down, I won’t be able to put it up anywhere else, but you can rest assured it’ll be safe on my hard drive.

Are agent 4 and Captain 3 twins? I noticed that they're the same age.

Yep, that’s the implication! I think Aleena calls Four her little sister over the course of the comic, but that’s just because they decided Aleena was going to be the “big sister” when they were younger.

Their baby squid logic was that big siblings protect their younger siblings, and Aleena wanted to always protect Four.

Ok this is just out of my head and not really planned but.

I wanted to thank everyone here again. Really. Actually. I don’t think it’s too far out there to say that SanitizedSubject was one of the first projects I really put “out there”— and I’m so, so freaking happy that it got the love it did.

Going forward, I will probably have to change mediums at some point— either switching to drawn comics or writing. There just aren’t enough assets in the source engine to carry me anymore, lol.

That being said… I would like to remaster certain moments from the blog. I think “redo the main story but make the art better” is a little abstract and infeasible, and I initially ran with source for a reason. (A combination of me understanding the engine to navigate it comfortably, and to utilize that sweet uncanny valley feeling to get across how Stachi was feeling.)

That ALSO being said, there is another project I’ve started on in addition to this. That is why updates have slowed. I’d love to share it here, but it banks on my anonymity, so…
