Spoilers Tlou2!
Apparently, I just can't stop thinking about tlou2 and that's why I keep reading and viewing reviews but so many people say that they hate how Ellie was suddenly shocked after she killed Nora even though she killed about 100 guys before that already.
I think Ellie's reaction is completely valid and that may also just depend on my playstyle but in this game I tried to sneak past enemies and if that didn't work and I got spotted then I just started running towards the exit. So most of the time I killed only a few people in a certain section because I wanted to progress in the game. However, when I had to kill an enemy, it was messy and violent, but it was never personal. They were just enemies that stood in Ellie's way of achieving her goal. With Nora it was personal, Ellie wanted to hurt her. After all, she was part of the group that killed Joel. Ellie tortured Nora. She never tortured her "common enemies". So obviously it would be unsettling for Ellie to see what she herself is capable of.
Also, I've read that some people are angry about the "shock-deaths" like Jesse, Yara and Manny but I can't understand that either.
Tlou2 tries to create a realistic experience of a gruel apocalyptic world. That's why enemies cry out each other's names when we kill one of them, that's why they decided to show that there are no "good guys" in the apocalypse and in my opinion, that's why the killed off these characters in such a quick, unexpected manner. As a player we were shocked but never allowed to grief unless we stopped the game because after these events because there was still a threat and a new action scene followed. I really appreciated that because it just shows how fast it can all be over. Even if you are a sympathetic character like Jesse that we got to know a bit over the game (and that we casually chatted with only seconds before his death) you don't get a heroic ending. You simply die. From one moment to the next and that's the world of the last of us. It's cruel and merciless. It doesn't matter if you are a perfect person who never killed anybody or the worst remaining person on this earth wether you die or not depends on luck and on your amount of ammunition XD.

Spoilers tlou 2!!!
A lot of people seem to think that the entire message of the game is that violence is bad but I actually think that there is soo much more to it... (I'm gonna ramble about a lot of things and it's gonna be quite long, so sorry in advance. Also this is just my personal take on it. Please, don't feel offended if you see it differently)
1. As a player we feel incredible hatred towards Abby as a character after she kills Joel and we simply want to hurt her in the same way. We despise her, which is a natural human reaction. However, the point in this game is that it forces us to see the other perspective. It forces us to admit that maybe we weren't playing the heroes because in this game nobody is. This game revolves around humans and what they have to do to survive.
2. A lot of people complain that the game judges your actions or makes you feel guilty. It never explicitly judges anything. It simply shows you the different perspectives and that you feel guilty is on you, not on the game because through the game, we as the player realize that our actions had consequences and that we didn't just kill NPCs but humans who had friends and families and had their own personality. This makes the game so much more realistic.
3. If you don't play this game narrow-minded, you will see that Ellie and Abby have exactly the same motives. They both seek revenge for the same reason and even though Abby killed our beloved character Joel, we have to admit that Ellie and Tommy killing most of her friends and Joel killing her father the surgeon were pretty good reasons to justify her actions. We aren't supposed to love Abby after all she killed Joel but we are supposed to sympathize with her and at least I can say that it truly worked for me. At the beginning I only wanted revenge for Joel but on that beach scene I truly didn't want to see her die and I didn't want to fight against her.
4. I've heard many people say that the game forces you to dislike Ellie or to see Joel as the villain. I don't agree with this statement at all. The flashbacks we see of Joel and Ellie make Joel seem like such an amazing guy and make him even more loveable. We see that his relationship with Ellie grew even stronger until she found out that he had lied about the fireflies and we saw that Joel got softer in the years after the first game. He seemed to open up a bit more and I think that is due to his peaceful life in Jackson. I loved that development and I think that is also the reason why he told Abby's group his real name. He didn't see them as a threat since Jackson welcomed outsiders and constantly took new people in.
Concerning Ellie's storyline: Yes, she makes a lot of bad choices and I didn't want her to go down this path but I also understood why she did it. I don't hate her, if anything I feel sorry for her and want to protect her even more because of everything she's been through. Yes, she did threaten Lev but I can understand why... I played through this game in a bit more than two days and when it came to the beach scene I just felt exhausted and I wanted it to stop. When we as the player already feel like that think about the character. Ellie was wounded, has left her family and has done horrible things to get to Abby and now Abby refuses to fight her. Everything she had done would have been for nothing if she didn't fight Abby. So, I personally think that Ellie was desperate and that's the reason she threatened Lev but I also think that she wouldn't have killed him if it came down to it.
5. Now that I'm already talking about the ending, I want to add that I think that assumption that Ellie has lost everything at the end of the game is wrong. Yes, she has lost a lot but at the same time she found herself again. She stopped the cycle of hatred. If the game would have ended with Dina, JJ and her it would have been incredibly sweet but it wouldn't have been a character development. Because she was forced to let Abby go after Abby defeated Ellie and Dina. Ellie didn't have another choice in this moment but in order to let go of the hatred, she had to spare Abby out of her own volition. At the end she regained some sense of humanity and there's still hope for her. At least that is what I got from that ending. In my opinion the reasons why she spared Abby are these two things:
1) Through the flashback she saw Joel and realized that no matter what she did he was gone and nothing could bring him back. At the same time she probably remembered Joel for who he had been in the last few years and what he would have wanted her to do.
2) She thought about Lev who had nobody except for Abby which is such a strong parallel to Ellie and Joel. She didn't want to cause Lev the same pain and suffering by taking Abby away from him.
6. I saw many messages about how important these characters (Ellie and Joel) are to people and how they deserved better/were completely different characters in this game.
I started playing the first game when I was 14 (just like Ellie) but I was honestly a bit to scared to play through the game so I played different games until I came back to tlou a few years later and I found myself incredibly impressed with the story. I loved how despite the cruel and harsh world Ellie and Joel live in the game still made me feel happy and calm in many sections. It was such a joy to watch the relationship between Ellie and Joel develop throughout the game. Playing the dlc and finding out that Ellie is a gay woman, just as me, obviously made me love the character even more.
Nowadays, I'm 19 (again just as old as Ellie) and I have become more mature, I have to face bigger and different problems than with 14 and I see the world in a different way. (I know that was a lot of information about me, I'm sorry but I promise I try to get to a point)
In the second game Ellie isn't the innocent, sweet little girl anymore that we got to know in the first game. She has been through a lot, she has different problems now and simply life in general is a lot more complicated than with 14. A huge part of the first game was about Ellie's innocence and how she grew up in front of our eyes during the game. "It can't all be for nothing" is in my opinion such a powerful line that explains her character development in tlou 1 perfectly. In the second game she is an adult with complex and complicated relationships and a different world view. She stopped being the innocent child a long time ago and is now a grown woman who isn't dependent on Joel anymore. So, that their dynamics would change is obvious. I am sad at the tragic turn of events for Joel and Ellie in tlou part 2 but I believe that the characters are incredibly well written and just a good continuation of the first game.
7. I see many people being toxic and attacking the story saying that it is "shit", "horrible", and that a child could write a better one. And I have to say that the people who say this probably would be more content with a fanfic like story from a child that includes a nice, action adventure and a happy ending. A light-hearted story that's maybe a bit dark sometimes but overall pretty nice. But that's not what Neil had in mind, because it truly would be easy to write a story that would appease the masses and that would be a slightly different game than the first one but overall with the same atmosphere to it. I think that's what a lot of fans wanted and that's not what we got.
Instead we got an amazing story that was incredibly emotional, took turns and forced us out of our comfort zone. I know that I will never forget this gaming experience. Especially the moment where I had to attack Ellie as Abby and I truly thought I was going to kill her. I smashed the square button while at the same time repeatedly saying: "please don't die Ellie, please don't die". I've never had such a weird, conflicting experience and I have never felt so many different emotions while playing a game. If naughty dog and Neil Druckmann had given us the game we wanted, it would have been a good gameplay, amazing visuals and great music and sound choices but it would have been a story that would have tried to recreate the first one and therefore it would have been easily forgettable and not impactful.
This game just keeps on making me think about the characters, reflecting on their actions and makes me feel so many different emotions that I'm not even sure what to think. And this, at least for me, is a masterpiece.

SPOILER TLOU2!!!
I've just completed the last of us part II in 26 hours and this may be an unpopular opinion but I absolutely love this game!
The gameplay is actually a lot of fun because as a player you have more options to move than in the first game, so it felt more organic and the visuals are absolutely stunning, which we can probably all agree on.
Personally I think it is completely amazing how many things you can adjust in the settings and how many accessibility options there are.
Concerning the story: I think that the story is just as good if not even better than the story in tlou part 1 and I know that a lot of fans of the first game apparently didn't enjoy playing tlou 2 at all, which is completely fine because everyone is allowed to have their own opinion. However, I saw that many people are saying that naughty dog or Neil Druckmann ruined this story or the characters. Which I personally really cannot understand. I found the story to be very well written with a lot of twists and turns, which made it not only interesting to play but also a lot more immersive because I really felt the emotions of actually all the characters in this game.
Ellie's rage is completely justified. After all, she just lost Joel and I think most people who played the first game can agree that seeing Joel die in front of our eyes was just absolutely horrible and at least I was also incredibly angry at Abby and wanted to take revenge.
However, Abby's rage is also completely justified. I think that Ellie and Abby are actually quite alike. Abby lost her father through Joel's hands. So can we really blame her for killing Joel? She killed him because of the same reason Ellie wanted to kill her. They wanted to avenge the death of their father.
And that she killed Jesse and nearly killed Tommy is also understandable because Ellie killed most of her friends, her lover and Alice, the dog... Think about it... the death of a dog was enough justification for the rampage of John Wick, so why should the murder of multiple people not be a reasonable explanation for her motives.
There are no good people in this game. Nobody is innocent but we can still relate to all of the characters and understand their actions. In my opinion this makes the game so special. There are no heroes and there are no villains. In this game are just people...people who think that what they are doing is right with motives that we can understand.
Obviously this game is not for everyone. If you are looking for a light-hearted game, that has a lot of peaceful and happy moments then this game is definitely not for you but if you don't mind thinking about serious topics and playing a game even though it may sometimes make you feel guilty for killing someone or may shock you with brutal scenes, then you should give it a chance because I think this game is a masterpiece.
And PLEASE to all the tlou fans be kind to the actors/voice actors of the tlou characters they are real people who have nothing to do with the actions of their characters in the game. I'm saying this because a lot of people have been horrible to Laura Bailey and that is simply not okay. I think her performance in this game was amazing and I wish her all the best. So please, if you didn't enjoy the second game then that's fine, but don't let your frustration out on other people!
#tlou part ii#tlou ellie#tlou abby#tlou joel#tlou2 is an amazing game#tlou 2 doesn't deserve all this hate#the last of us#the last of us 2

SPOILERS FOR THE SUPERGIRL FINALE!
In my opinion the episode wasn't bad but it also wasn't really good...
But let's start with the positive aspects:
1. Kara & Lena finally reconciled and the few (and sadly also very short) scenes between them were really good.
2. The Brainy storyline was actually pleasantly unexpected and was pretty interesting
3. In the end Lex actually had accounted for Brainy's reaction because let's be honest Lex wouldn't really be a genius if he really thought that Brainy was just gonna let him kill of all of his friends
4. Andrea and Lena finally had a scene together again! I loved how Lena talked Andrea down I just really hope that those two develop a friendship again. After all they could both use a friend.
5. It seems like the focus of the show will now be more on Lex and Lillian as the villains and I find those two a lot more interesting than the entire Leviathan organization together.
So and now to the points that annoyed me a bit about this episode:
1. Kara was once again portrayed as a flawless and selfless person.
She didn't just hide her identity from Lena to protect her...no, she also did it because she was afraid that she would loose Lena if she told her the truth.
Another point people seem to be forgetting is that for Lena Kara and Supergirl were two entirely different people the whole time. And while she always completely adored Kara she didn't fully trust Supergirl and Supergirl and her often argued with each other!
Think about the time when Supergirl sent James (Lena's boyfriend at the time!) to break into L-Corp to see if she truly didn't have any kryptonite left. So not only did Supergirl not trust Lena she even wanted to make her boyfriend betray Lena's trust as well.
Then there were a lot of mean things Supergirl said towards Lena for example:
Lena asked Kara what her real name was and Supergirl answered: "That's not a great question for a Luthor to ask someone in my family."
Like come on, I know that Kara was angry at the moment but how do you think Lena must have felt after she found out that her best friend said those things to her after she had opened up to her about her family problems and her insecurities.
2. The whole Leviathan situation is just completely chaotic... We just knew Rama Khan and Gamemnae why do you have to introduce new characters at the end of the show and why didn't those earth benders help in the previous fights ? It was really unnecessary to put them into the show only for Brainy to "suck them in" a few minutes later.
3. Even though Lena was supposed to play such a big role in this season she barely had any scenes and even less dialogue with any of the characters. Why can't they just give us more Lena Luthor? The most interesting character on the show at this point.
4. The new suit of Alex? Just no... It really doesn't fit to her character... Alex Danvers would wear something badass like a leather jacket and a hoodie or something similar to the Supergirl suit. She could even just continue wearing her deo suit that Winn made for her with some kind of mask... She definitely wouldn't wear that much makeup....
5. Why was William in this episode? To get shot? I mean where did Lena even bring him? He just disappeared after that scene.
I had hoped to enjoy the finale more but I believe that the next season will be better and that's enough for now.
I am just tired of seeing the writers waste most of the talent that all of these amazing actors have by writing uninteresting plotlines.

SPOILERS FOR SHE-RA AND HARLEY QUINN (2019) !
To be honest, I didn't think that they would make Catradora canon but I shipped them a lot and in season 5 the writers of She-Ra did a perfect job because the relationship didn't feel forced, the relationship just seemed to evolve naturally due to the slow built up.
A few episodes before the finale it was already clear that the characters really did have romantic feelings for each other but I never dared to even dream about a kiss between them! And when it finally happened I truly couldn't believe it at first and then I honestly cried... and not so much because of catradora being canon (even though I love them together).
I realized that it made me feel so much more accepted and also normal to see a protagonist that is officially not heterosexual and the fact that this protagonist even is the hero of the show who people look up to, just made this even better.
So what I'm trying to say is Representation matters!
Being able to identify with fictional characters is so incredibly important. Most people who aren't a part of the lgbtq community or a different minority will probably never understand how it feels to desperately search for someone who is like you and who you can look up to. Especially if you come from an unaccepting home.
Nearly all lgbtq characters are side characters and I'm glad that there are finally more lgbtq characters in the shows that are currently produced but side characters aren't really the people you connect with.
Quite often LGBTQ characters barely have a storyline or they die/ something horrible happens to them or their significant other.
So, having Adora, a relatable main character, who is lgbtq and even gets a happy ending with her gf and her friends is simply blowing my mind.
And the fact that on the same day Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy kissed was simply the cherry on top of the cake! And I couldn't believe my luck to be a part of the lgbtq community.
But this is the reason why straight people need to stop complaining about too much lgbtq representation in the media.
Please understand that with this I obviously don't mean all heterosexual people. Most of you guys are great!
But sadly I think a lot of people still don't understand why representation is so important!

So I don't know if you guys are watching She-Ra but if not you should definitely check it out! This show is so incredibly funny, captivating and emotional. And I don't want to spoiler anything so I'm just gonna say that this last season was truly incredible!
Kudos to the writers! I can't say how much I appreciate this amazing show that you have created! Thanks for taking this brave step in the last season! The ending was really all we could have wished for.
A lot of other writers could still learn a lot from you! (Yes, I am mainly looking at you Supergirl writers...)

This is probably an unpopular opinion but I actually really love Lex Luthor as a villain because tbh the only interesting storylines in this season are the ones about Lex and Lena.
I don't even know anymore why the show is called Supergirl! Kara hasn't done anything in the last episodes... Frankly, I really can't remember any instance after crisis where she did something important that wasn't planned by Lex. She basically was just one of Lex's pawns.
That's just not how it's supposed to be. The entire Supergirl team didn't contribute anything to bringing Leviathan down. So far the only ones who truly worked on this were Lex and Brainy.
Leviathan isn't really interesting either since during this entire season they haven't done anything. No world domination plan or anything else they just manipulated Andrea and used obsidian north. But apart from that they were really harmless.
Also, I think it is important to mention that William probably had more screentime and a better reporter storyline than Kara, even though Kara is the protagonist. How is that possible? Just in general nobody cares about William. Sure he is supposed to be her love interest but the only thing he is currently doing is robbing Kara's screentime and I'm not on board with that.
By the way what did Kelly and William think was gonna happen when they told Andrea about Eve?
They didn't have any evidence at all and I don't think the explanation "She was a bad person on a different earth and therefore I know that she can't be trusted but nearly nobody remembers the last earth on this earth so you'll just have to take my word for it" sounds very convincing or sane.

Is it just me or does the whole Supergirl plotline this season just feel kinda uncoordinated?
It seems like they're trying to do too much and yet nothing really seems to happen on the show.
The Nia Nal storyline in 5x15 was really nice but I think it would have been even better if there had been more screentime for it. There wasn't even a fight between Nia Nal and the villain so we didn't get to see much of Nia's cool powers and we also didn't get to see a lot of scenes with Nia and Yvette which is quite sad because it would be a nice friendship to add to the show and I also think Nia would have taken care of Yvette after she had captured the guy.
I love that Alex had an actual storyline in this episode because she is becoming more and more like a sidecharacter. I'm rewatching Season 1 and season 2 right now and in those seasons Alex and Kara nearly had the same amount of screentime... Nothing of that seems to be left in season 5.
But in this episode I would have wanted even more screentime for Alex. The whole vr arc is kinda interesting but there was just no real tension in the scenes this episode. At no point of this episode did I even think that Alex might be in danger and again the fight with the villain was cut short and really unspectacular. Also I wish that the show would address her problems and at the moment I'm hoping that they're building up to Alex having some sort of crisis because she has a lot going on in her life right now. In this episode she had a panic attack for like 10 seconds and afterwards it was never mentioned again. She clearly needs someone to talk to. Wasn't Kelly a therapist?
Which brings me to my next point. The relationship between Alex and Kelly is cute but we need more scenes of them talking about their relationship or just in general talking to each other and about each other. I just don't ship Alex and Kelly like I used to ship Alex and Maggie, even though Alex and Kelly have the potential to be a really great couple. We just don't see enough of them so we can't really get emotionally invested.
Furthermore there were no Lena or Lex Luthor scenes in this episode even though these arcs are the most interesting Supergirl arcs at the moment.
We don't need any new characters to be introduced and we certainly don't want a forced relationship between Kara and William when the main characters don't get enough screentime as it is and we don't need another distracting romance because to be honest I don't even know what the plot of this show is supposed to be anymore at this point.
