I don’t have any photos, but just wanted to say a big thank you to this site and everyone else who’s working on unfucking their habitats. I just hat 1800-got-junk come and take away about a whole crap-ton of crap that I’d been hanging on to for various reasons. It was a bit expensive, but so worth the money, to me, knowing that it’s just gone and out of my life. I don’t have to lug it all to the dumpster or find places to donate old clothes, etc. 

I still have a lot of unfucking to do, but for the first time in years, my floors aren’t covered in random crap, my clothes are put away and my dishes are all clean and put away. I feel about a million pounds lighter, and really actually looking forward to enjoying my apartment again. 

Seriously, if I can do it, anyone can do it! Look after yourself - you’re worth having a nice place to live that’s not full of shit.

Relationships are scary and complicated ONLY when you start thinking of your partner as some kind of adversary. 

You know how to stop being scared of relationships? Remember that it’s got a goddamn buddy system *built in*. That’s all a relationship IS: “Let’s approach life with the buddy system.”

Check on your buddy. Make sure your buddy doesn’t forget their lunch box on the schoolbus. Hold hands with your buddy so you don’t get lost. If your buddy wants to look at the monkey cage, look at the goddamn monkey cage with them. If you are the one looking at the monkey cage, ask your buddy what they want to do next, and when they want to feed the giraffe, help them find a quarter for the little food dispenser. Be a good buddy, and if your buddy isn’t a good one too, tell the teacher and ask for a new one.

Ah the memories! This was the song we danced to in the one and only hip hop dance class I took. Probably 1993 or so? I would have been 12 or 13.

Re-discovered this 1994 song after it just popped into Katherine’s head for some reason. If you’ve got a spare few minutes, it was pretty much lost to history so you might not have heard it. You definitely haven’t seen the video, which is also very good.

Sometimes all it takes is a little gesture

Chlorine in the water dissipates while sitting out, which would happen before and after freezing, and that would affect the taste. Also water just sitting around for the same amount of time as the frozen-then-thawed water would have lower chlorine, and likely other gases too. A true comparison would be compare the water from ice to water that’s sat still for the same amount of time. 

Hank, on the water versus ice from the same tap water question from before. What about things suspended in the water, additives like chlorine and fluoride, or minerals in well water? Most tap water is not just H2O, there is other stuff in it that may change the taste. Could it just be a change in the ratios of other stuff in it?

Good point. Water’s solubility does decrease as it cools. So if there are gasses dissolved in the water (which there are…at the very least it’s got some dissolved CO2 in it, just from being exposed to air) then freezing would decrease the concentrations of those gasses. Thanks for the correction!

Rewatching DS9 leads to so many feelings. I'm such a Dax stan, for starters. And forgot how hard I both ship Odo/Kira and love Vedek Bareil. And now I'm on "Heart of Stone" (3.14), which just really leads to all the emotions. Definitely more so now than on an initial watching (because I know what's really happening!).

I'm going to Apocalyptour tomorrow. Holy crap. We got crystal skull tickets, so tomorrow after work, I'll be chilling with starkids. Egads. I'm completely spoiler-free on the show, and I can't wait! 

Also can't sleep. It's like my own personal Rex Manning day. Gah. Send wine before I explode!!!!

SPACE Tour glee

Finally had a SPACE Tour viewing party with the bffs. So so so awesome. Really, aside from all the awesome poop talk, most memorable part was the special feature of Jaime, Meredith and Lauren singing "before the boys get home." Stuck in my head for ever now, and likely part of our bff repertoire. Also epic, Brian Holden's arms. Just in case you hadn't noticed.

Can't wait for them to be in my city!!! Apocalyptour here were come! 

Also watched Glee. Have decided that I love the musical numbers and really the only story line I care about is Kurt and Blaine. Well, and Mike and Tina but that'll never be a story line. But yes, if I can just watch Darren be emotional and adorable while wearing a bow tie, I'll put up with a lot of things. Musical numbers were awesome as always, though.

Also drank a lot of wine. Oops.
