say it with me: deserts aren't inherently bad. deserts are very important and are home to many ecosystems. you want an unhealthy, over-exploited desert to become a healthy, thriving desert. you don't want an unhealthy, over-exploited desert to become a forest. deserts and forests are distinct, separate biomes that are both indispensable. you want to see them both at their best. and a desert at its best doesn't look like a forest at its best. they're each beautiful in their own way.

The live action lilo & stitch already looks super weird, alongside all theirblive action movies, but my biggest gripe.is that they couldn't even bother to market it like they did with the original.
They couldn't bother with trailers or commercials that had stitch interrupting other disney movies.

Also, lots of wild bees aren't endangered due to lack of honey, its lacks of habitat, biodiversity, pesticides, parasites and such.
Focus should be on more sustainable and better agricultural practices.
Also, the long-nosed bat is an important pollinator for a lot of plants and rely on agave plants to feed them during their long migration period, though not yet endangered they are also facing ecological issues with lack of available food sources. The bee that we get honey from is a domesticated insect, not wild bees.
Vegans of tumblr, listen up. Harvesting agave in the quantities required so you dont have to eat honey is killing mexican long-nosed bats. They feed off the nectar and pollinate the plants. They need the agave. You want to help the environment? Go back to honey. Your liver and thyroid will thank you, as well. Agave is 90% fructose, which can cause a host of issues. Bye.
#What I learned from ecology and bug classes is that 1. sometimes we need to interfere to maintain the planet#2. sometimes you have to make choices that are morally grey to help other species and the ecosystem#and 3. people also matter and so you have to find methods that allow both wildlife and people to coexist

She fully didn't watch the segment because Jon did a very nuanced, thoughtful segment. He drilled down to kids just wanting to have a community and have fun.
What these TERFS are pissed off about is that he showed how disingenuous y'all are when you go "omg that trans athlete hit a ball really hard and it hurt a cis women" because when you look into it cis women even on their team hit harder then them. Because he pointed out that cis girls harm each other in sports all the damn time. He pointed out that when there was a bill to protect cis women athletes against sexual predators like coaches. Y'all decided not to pass that while passing an anti-trans bills all while claiming you just care about protecting women.
#this was a good segment from him and not the first time John Oliver has covered trans issues#it covered my biggest gripe with all the trans athlete nonsense and TERFs in general#which is that they just dont realize how anti-feminist they really are and rather pushcthe agenda that women are weak and fragile#what happened to women can do whatever men can do?#how did feminism circle back around to 'women are much weaker and fragile then men'#and the 'you must follow a strick gender binary originally set by men to be considered a woman'#I'm so tired of this argument im so exhausted of powerful women turning against other women
