First major exam for history tomorrow! Im only halfway and I'm a bit overwhelemed ughh. It's been very rainy lately. The whole afternoon was dark outside so classes might be canceled tomorrow since the province beside my area has already canceled theirs (though our mayor is notorious for not calling classes off lol). Oh well, wish me luck!!

More ppl shld talk about how Kaveh and Alhaitham subvert the stereotypes of their respective fields of studies. Like the sterotype for the humanities people are that they're the more emotional, romantic, kinda all over the place types, and the STEM people are the rigid, blunt, may come across as cold kinda people.

Basing it off their darshans, Alhaitham's area of studies aligns with the humanities (linguisitcs and semiotics), but hes the one that seems to be the "antisocial intellectucal" character. And Kaveh is from Kshahrewar (leaning towards technology) but hes the emotional character– and UUdjsidhdkdkbd

Summer classes are pretty chill actually. It's pretty rainy these past few days which is a nice esp coming from the heatwave in the past months. My subjects right now are German and History, which is cool. I actually recite during German class so I hope my prof notices my efforts LOL. My sleep issues started acting up again for some reason which sucks because I don't really know what triggered it this time but eh could be worse!!

I'll be honest, this wasn't my best weekend, haha. After I got home on Friday, I was so tired from class that I didn't do anything. Which, I shrugged off since I typically use Fridays as my rest days (within reason), but when Saturday hit, I was filled with anxiety (?) that I couldn't bear doing anything that I needed to accomplish. I feel bad so guilty of since one of them involved cleaning my hamster's sandbath, which I have been putting off. I don't know how to describe it, but my head just felt full of thoughts and I couldn't function at all so I had to cram my week's worth of HW just this night sighhh. I just hope next week will be a bit better.

It's been a while since I posted TT I can't believe it's already February. Anyways, I tripped and fell yesterday so I went to the nearest 7/11 to buy bandaids which was wayyy across campus but they didn't have any unofortunately huhu. I somehow managed 4k steps today and it's only 11:45 am so yay ig? Lab finished early too so I went around by myself for a bit and typed this out in the library. I'm kinda sad I didn't get a perfect in my quiz though. If we get an avg of 95 in our quizzes, we'll get exempted from the final which I'm trying to do cuz I have a lo of exams and I can't bother doing this anymore LOL

ngl I think hustle culture got worse the moment tech got introduced and integrated to our daily lives cuz tbh in high school, I didn't really need much productivity trackers and whatnot cuz most of the time I already did my work at school and just had to do big projects and review at home/out of school.

Granted, it is difficult to compare university work to high school work, especially when my batch was affected by the pandemic, but nowadays it seems like you have to be good at video editing, making pubmats, presentations, speeches, acting, performing, website building, alongside the usual exams and essays.

Like I get and advocate people to be more well-rounded, but i feel like this could be another reason why people feel so much more pressure nowadays lol

A reading for my theo class yesterday, the wording was a bit deep but I like her take on Theology and religion. I also made jam for the first time since we had leftover strawberries.

Not really a productive day today, just kinda been tired, thankfully we didnt have much work for tomorrow, and my profs decided to go online for Friday so I'll just be home probably. Though we have an optional lecture we could attend so we get an exemption, but idk if its worth it LOL.

I like my general subjects like theo, english, filipino, etc. But I really wish my uni would have less of it since my sched is 8am-5pm with an hour break at 2pm. I see my friends in different courses have little adventures outside of campus and I honestly feel trapped ugh.

Got to meet most of my profs and thank God they all seem very nice and the material also seems like something I'm interested in.

I'm trying to be a bit more productive this semester since I wanna bring my grade up. I barely made it on the dean's list with a 3.40 (cutoff is 3.35) so I wanna change that. Following advice I got on this site, I joined a club activity and I'm not too sure what we'll be doing but I hope that I can get to talk to more people there. I also talked to my seatmate and we hung out after class, they're a bit different from me (in the sense that they're not chronically online lol) but I like their vibe and work ethic.

I really hope this sem turns out a bit better. I'll preface that I am not diagnosed with anything by a doctor, but I know that I may have some issue related to anxiety. Whatever that may be, it definitely got worse when I entered college, especially comparing how large it is compared to my previous schools. But anyway, I don't think I can get professional help anytime soon, so I'll find my own ways to manage it for the meantime.

Last Day of Break - 14/1/2025

Today is the last day of my Christmas break, and so far, I've been pretty well.

Gained a few pounds, talked to family, hung out with friends, even got to visit another country which was pretty fun. Normally by this point, I start to miss the routine of having classes. I won't lie and pretend I enjoy waking up at 6 for my 8 am class since I don't dorm or live near campus, but I haven't felt this much dread going back to classes ever.

I have had trouble making friends since college started, I can't tell if it's an issue of my own, or if it's just the people in my block not really vibing with me. It feels like I am constantly on a different page from everyone, and I don't know why. I heard people scoff at shy people my age, saying that we should get over it by now, but I still am very much insecure in myself and I want to change that by this year.

This is mostly gonna be a documentation of my college life, just for funsies. Though, I don't know if I'll be too active on this platform, since I don't want to feel pressured to post and get in the way of other hobbies/ actual school work. I also do music, art, writing, among other things, so you might see some fandom related stuff in my blog as well.

I never really had a more "personal" space in social media, since I use it mostly to stay connected with friends and family, or post stuff related to my hobbies. I wanted to try this as a sort of online journal, and hopefully meet cool people!! (though I am extremely shy both online and irl)

This is also my first time using tumblr (shocking, I know!) so I wanna try to do the funky stuff I see other blogs too
