uhhhh, help, one of my co-players made the mistake of prototyping the SA-X from metroid, and our Witch of Time had to vaccinate everyone so a doomed timeline didn't occur, what do I do, do I just hide while our Witch of Time, Knight of Life, and Heir of Space jury rig the ectobiology frogbreeding process to spit out a metroid?
I know...vanishingly little about "Metroid," truth be told. However, if your Time and Space players are in agreement of something, their plan is likely the best possible course of action. I would recommend doing whatever they tell you to do--if they say to hide and wait, then do so. I am not sure what your classpect is, so I'm not sure if you would be able to assist in some way, unfortunately. It does seem like your Witch has things under control, so I would not worry too much!

hi my godteir bed has heart AND light symbols..
couple possible things this could be, im gonna need a liiiiittle more info than this.
things ive seen cause that before:
systems occasionally will have dual aspects for whoever the primary two alters are. never more than two, idk why. not a glitch though, this seems to be a feature.
you and another player were in too close proximity to each other when you entered the medium (and this distance is farther than youd think) and it merged your lands and you now have a dual quest bed. shouldnt be game-breaking, but a lot of things meant to be for one or the other of you will combine, and some dialogue may break. you also may encounter cities or ruins spliced in half by like mountains and stuff. your denizens might...well, thats more info than you needed. if this is you ill elaborate. glitch.
youre a mist player and your land is fucking with you. feature. or glitch. i dont know its mist.
either way, goodluck. this is going to be an interesting session for you.

Please help, I'm in a session with a Knight of Space, Seer of Time, Bard of Hope, Mage of Void, and Witch of Mind. When i wasnt looking, The Knight seems to have duplicated themself while God-tiering (with a self-prototyped sprite)? (I'm not sure but i feel like The Seer is involved too) Is something bad going to happen because of this?
space players are weird and self-prototyping is weirder. usually, self-prototyped sprites dont cause any negative impact, aside from their penchant for self-loathing (although that may just be the ones ive met). but theres this weird feature with self-prototyped sprites where they can god tier and become human(ish) again, meant to be a failsafe incase some bullshit happens to whoever the actual alpha timeline player was. so you dont end up with a crucial player (like space or time) missing.
now, heres where the glitch comes in.
what you discovered is a very specific problem that only space and mist can encounter, but for different reasons. mists seems obvious--weird bullshit with the system recognizing them and the sprite as both them and not them, gets confused, spits out two god-tiered versions of your player. you can actually get up to 4 if you have a player with the double-dreamself bug. note that this does not happen to players of other classes with the double-dreamself bug, just mist. weirdos.
for space, its a weird error where if the self-prototyped space player's sprite is on the slab with them at the moment they ascend, the game gets spatially confused in the moment where the player isnt controlling space. it doesnt know where to put the dreamself into, and...bam. two very alive space players.
sburb has a way of working out the timeline, kinda like a dog shaking fleas off. one of your knights is going to die or the timeline will be doomed. you cant have your knight and eat them too.

Old SBURB theorists used to postulate that Mist was the inverse aspect of V-wo d. Now that the code scriers have confirmed that Light is V-w rd's true inverse, where does that leave Mist? Does it not have a counterpart?
Law. It was an old common misconception that Light|Law and v̷̠̺̇ō̵̙̋ï̴̖̏̄d̸̼̳͂̂̐|ṃ̵̂i̶̦͈̹̋s̴̳̦̈́̂t̴̯͔̑̓, but you are correct, Light|v̷̗́̾̾͑̎̇̌̓̈́̆̚͠ơ̶̗̗̰̤͂̈́̿̀͐͛̀̀̆̂͠ỉ̶̢͈͔̭͙͈͕̓́͌͐͂̚d̷̡͚̯͎͇̖̪̺͙̣̭̪̉̎̿̽ and, by extension, Law|m̸̛̰̖̫̹̠͖̓̀̍̊̀̆̉͂̈͘͠i̶̱̲̜̹̼̤̹̼̥͉̭̣̓ṣ̶̨̛̼̮̤͈̝̝̩̙̘̾̾͑̆̅͆̈́̕ṯ̷̡̺͙̤̤̭̦͍̺̈̌̂͋̾́́͂̊.
The explanation being this--m̸̛͕̘̭̙̪̦̣͈̳̋͂͌́͗͒͑́̈́̇̆̍͛̔͋͌͆̀̕͝͝ȉ̶̧̝̺͉̜̘̺͗̈́́̈́̀͊̚͜͠ș̵̡̢̨̢̖̫̫̙̞̮͇̩̥̥̟̥̝̳̠̌̌̀́̆̇̋͛̏̓̀̏̓̋̀͒̈͛̚͘͜ͅt̴̨̥̎̽̈̌̑͂̒̂̃̏̊ is chaos and confusion, Law is order and rules.
As a native Law player, I have no clue how this misconception first occurred. Although, in fairness, I once believed it as well. When you look at it that way, however, it seems fairly evident.

witch of blood here. some friends are discussing that I should be able to alter people's DNA, thoughts? (I think it's bs)
nope. blood is bonds, not like actual physical blood. i mean, you probably can still do some sicknasty stuff with real blood, but not altering dna. i wonder if you can use your [Awakening] ability on a pool of blood? ive never seen a blood player try, but tbe fair ive also never met a witch of blood. not sure if youd want to tho.

Hello, I’m a Page of Rage, my session-mates are Seer of Breath, Heir of Space, Thief of Doom, Prince of Time and Knight of Void, i think we may have a glitch.
Our First Guardian has forced themselves into our session, taking their moon with them to serve as their planet. They’ve assassinated both kingdoms but left the moons intact, so they have both rings, thankfully nothing powerful was put into the rings, but it’s still a concern.
We’ve reviewed the option of me reaching a full-potential page state, but our seer has foreseen that a full realization as the Page of Rage would equate to a total loss of control, and I’d kill all my session mates if I ever realized myself to full.
We need help, I see the Guardian’s moon in the sky and it’s pulsing green with energy, I don’t know how long we’ll be able to survive without help.
that sounds less like a moon, more like a sun. its not ideal by anyones circumstances, but talk to your seer about a scratch. and talk fast--it seems like youre running out of time. if youd come to us oh, say, when this first happened? we maybe couldve troubleshot what was happening. but youre way past that point now. find your beat mesa--your prince should know where it is. and they should be very good at causing a scratch.
for archival purposes, cuz em is always bugging me about that, heres whats happening--a first guardian is meant to act as a failsafe for the game. if all else goes wrong, the first guardian is there. its not supposed to have enough consciousness as a game construct to do more than intervene in emergencies. but shit happens. for this particular shit to have happened, someone must have fucked up in a way where the game saw taking over and ultimately forcing a scratch as the best option. not a glitch, just a really extreme case of the rules.
if you want to fix it without scratching, try time travel. take a good long look at your coplayers and figure out who did what that caused this. if time travel doesnt work, scratch scratch away.

"turn it off and on again" works for sburb, sometimes. sometimes the "turn it off" is just percussive maintenance tho.

my (prince of light, prospit) matesprit (seer of blood, derse) connected to my moirail (prince of time), but my matesprit's screen is completely black!! he can't see my moirail's house at all ;0-0
Bit of a simple issue, but there was likely a problem initializing on whatever device you're using! While SBURB installs initially on only one computer, it will carry forwards on any computer-device you use. Try a different device and see if that helps!
If not, do you have a void or mist player in your session? Both of those classes are known for causing visual glitches, including but not limited to viewport errors. It could be that that is simply leaking over to other players!

Howdy! Sylph of Blood here! I got an issue with our Kight of Breath in our session. He's going on a bit of a rampage at the moment on his planet. He found a weird black orb and alchemized it into a pair of great swords, and so now he's destroying just about everything and kicking up a storm that won't let anyone into his atmosphere. And he apparently godtiered recently. I can't contact any of our other players at the moment, and I don't want to have to kill him. Any advice?
That sounds like what he's casting is [Wrath of the Storm God], which is Breath's arguably most powerful ability. This is likely caused by a SBURB mental disorder--I'm not a psychologist, and I don't know the full situation, so it's hard to say which one. Possibly Aggrievance, in which case the cure is a good ol' hug until the crying stops. If not that, then perhaps MeGaLoVania? That one is a bit harder to treat, really just doing your best to be there for them is all you can do.
Quite honestly, I'd let him be if you can't get close. He's not hurting anyone on your team, and if he's made it to God Tier, he's far enough that most of his important quests likely won't be affected by his little temper tantrum. Message him, be there for him, and try to get in there and see what's happening once he calms down.
Of course, this is not medical advice, and if he doesn't have Aggrievance or MeGaLoVania and you die trying to hug him, I am not liable for the outcome.

Are you related to the tech support blog, SNTechSupport?
Not in the slightest, nope! I'd not heard of them before--looks like we were started around the same time, but they're a lot more tech-focused than us. I don't think either of us could tell you error codes, it's all lived experience here! That, and a fair amount of time spent reading SBURB-help forums.

I clipped through a wall on my land and wound up in this backrooms place that's all green. Should I be concerned? Is this a place to be avoided?
technically no. what youve found is actually a pretty neat way to get from one place to another across your session--and i do mean across your session. walk in on your world, go one room over and step out there, and you might just get spit out on one of your co-players worlds. its consistent across your session, so you can really efficiently game the system if you can map it out. also if you can figure out how to replicate your little noclip trick. theres rumors about that place being haunted, but also like when isnt there haunted video game rumors. ive never seen any evidence to back that up.
godspeed either way dude.

A peculiar glitch! I've heard of people's dreamselves being swapped with other players, but never this! Fascinating.
FS is correct, in that the real potential problem here is what happens when you die. The last thing you want is Jack Noir running around in a player's body while you're stuck in dreambubble limbo. That being said, a glitch like this could be potentially enough to doom your timeline if you do die. Talk to your time player and set up a contingency plan for if that does happen. I agree that your hope player is your best chance at swapping bodies back, although I can't imagine how they'd do it.
Please, keep us updated on how this develops!
-eM
Uh, first-timer Knight of Space and our game got so glitched that Jack Noir is my dreamself and vice versa. I just figured this out by talking to a friend (Maid of Light) who researched SBURB before playing when I told her about my odd dreams. When I’m dreaming as Noir, I can influence him to varying degrees and collect information from the dream, and I’m pretty sure he can to when he sleeps. I also have a Heir of Time and a Rouge of Hope in my session as well.
What do I do? And are there any explanations for this or am I a shitty guinea pig for this one specific bug?
shitty guinea pig, sorry pal. if your maid doesnt have any insight, talk to your rogue of hope. they can do a lot of weird stuff, they might be able to just...hope it into fixing itself. or in this case i guess steal the problem from you? rogue and thief work a little wonky, but hope can do just about anything.
that bein said, this is a pretty sick advantage. knowing what jack noir is up to and being able to influence him is a good thing--although you might want to find your actual dreamself and trap it somewhere so he cant fuck with You. only real potential issue i can see comes in with death/godtiering since that requires a dreamself, but thats not my area of expertise so ill tap out to em for that one.

I'm having a hard time figuring this out. I'm in a 6 person session right now, the main problem is our Rage player. He somehow managed to get the Ultimate Alchemy grist without slaying his denizen, and now all his quest flags are fucked. How can we fix this?
describe “fucked.” are we talking like, all of them are showing and triggering at once, none of them are showing at all, they’re showing but nothing is triggering...theres a lot of things fucked could mean. we can help troubleshoot, but we need a little more info than that.
part of whats probably fucked it up is all that grist going to skaia way earlier than it should be. so any quest thats designed to become inaccessible before you access the hoard is now unable to be completed, but still showing. thats my best guess based on the information youve given. terraforming changes your entire land, and that includes the quests. if his denizen is still alive, send him there. he’ll need to apologize, probably grovel a lot, get made fun of by his denizen for sure, but then he should get the Choice. thatll for sure fix whatevers fucked up. but also like, if he already got the hoard and terraformed...he doesnt need it really? like, hes done, this part of the game is technically over for him. just send him down to get his land instrument and try to move on.
if that doesnt work lmk more info and i’ll take a crack at it.

It's 4/13, just about 7 years after I started this blog. So much has happened since then. If anyone remembers the SBURB Glitch FAQ and still wants help with their sessions...ask away.
