I felt like talking about Rookanis sleep routine a bit so… Scraps of headcanons below!

After Endgame, Abel is prone to frequent nightmares. Most of the time, he relives a memory of the fade prison, or a variation. Other times, it’s just bad memories that come back over and over again. He doesn’t wake up with a jolt or anything, but he will mumble, wince and sweat a lot. Lucanis is a light sleeper and usually wakes up at the slightest sound to hold Rook a little tighter. Gently stroking his cheek to ground him out of the nightmare.

If Spite is here, he’ll stay nearby and observe in silence, or leave it to Lucanis if it gets too intense.

But as for their sleeping habits, there’s no assigned big spoon/little spoon. They switch all the time :)

Abel is a walking heater, and he clings a lot in his sleep. It does not bother Lucanis at all :)

I heard your concerns regarding my last post... It was not the last one but it was close 🙄

His trembling legs almost betrayed him, but he made one final effort to dismount from his horse, and managed to plant one foot on the paved ground. The pain in his muscles was sharp, and before he could take another step, Lucanis wrapped his arms around him like a shelter, lifting him effortlessly off the ground. The sudden lift drew a small grunt of pain from Abel, but he did not protest. Instead, he let himself sink into the warmth of Lucanis' hold, chasing away the chill of the northern winds that had frozen his bones, the stiffness in his shoulders slowly begining to ease. Lucanis pulled back slightly before gently setting Abel back down, noticing the brief flicker of discomfort in his eyes. But before he could speak, Rook shook his head, a small wry smile playing on his lips. "I'm alright," he said softly, brushing off the faint sting of his wounds. "I gave them a hard time too."

Lucanis' lips curved into a gentle smile, his eyes softening with quiet relief. "Tell me about it", he murmured, pulling Abel into a soft, unhurried kiss, grounding him in the moment, as if to remind him he was home.
