Legion Name: The Dragons of Man (Salamander successor chapter)

Codex Compliant: no (Codex-Divergent/Deviant)

Specialization: much like other Salamanders, The Dragons of Man make heavy use of fire based weaponry but specializing in close quarters combat making regular use with Loi-Pattern Burning Blade power swords and Flamestorm Gauntlets, leading to them having far more Aggressor Squads than other chapters, with a small amount of the other members using the Ryza Pattern Hot-shot Lasgun to help support their brothers from a distance while still delivering the blazing fury of the imperium that they are known for, and living up to their name, most members of this chapter always include a Jump Pack among their wargear, allow them to bring death from above and have greater mobility than they would otherwise have.

Chapter Appearance: Much like other Salamander chapters but with much more use of ornate looking dragon themed armor, their chapter symbol is golden salamander icon with a black background, and their armor is typically with some exceptions an inverted version of the Salamander's original color scheme in such a way that it presented an appearance reminiscent of the Gorladon of the Salamander's homeworld of Nocturne.

Chapter Origins/Founding: Unknown (suspected to be sometime after the Ulima Founding).

Gene Seed: Vulkan.

Chapter Size: Being a rather recent chapter The Dragons of Man are only known to have about 900 Astartes, still attempting to recruit more where able but are often being called to offer aid to worlds with extreme environments or dangerous levels of radiation where their skills are needed. The chapter's fleet consists of 1 Battle Barge, 4 Strike Cruisers, and only has mere 6 Escorts (Frigates and Destroyers). [5:46 PM] Homeworld: Pellaelrius Prime (a radioactive world rich in minerals and rare elements located in the Segmentum Ultima, causing their base of operation on the planet to need to require special shielding and needing to prioritize anti-radiation materials and defenses so that they have a safe place for non Astartes of their chapter to take shelter, rest, and or meet among other things.)

Chapter Recruitment: Candidates are taken to the Salamander homeworld of Nocturne and tasked with not only slaying a Leo'nid but also fashioning it's scaled hide into armor to which the Chapter Master will personally view the craftsmanship of and depending on the quality will either allow the candidate to progress to the transhuman process of becoming an Astartes or flunk them in which case they must either return home in shame or if they wish attempt the trial again.

Combat Doctrine: Extremely similar to those of the Salamander's but with a greater focus on close quarters combat and not unnecessarily sacrificing qualities of a warrior unnecessarily, thus they also prepare themselves with regular training and meditation, this also allowing them to resist their Primarch's Curse of Unyielding more than other chapters, but should they succumb to it and become too injured in combat do to their own stubbornness, their brothers will make every attempt to save their life and to allow them to continue to serve along side one another will have them put into a dreadnaught and forge and modify it to their preferences making it as resilient as possible, should one of these dreadnaughts be destroyed, the whole chapter takes it as a personal failing and great shame that their work was lacking and it caused one of their brothers their life.

Chapter Master Echun Dragonfury (Former member of the Firedrakes, his war gear of choice consists of his Terminator Armor, Indomitus Pattern Tactical Dreadnought Armour, which has a custom modified helmet that resembles the head of a dragon, two custom made Lightning Claws with Auxiliary Meltaguns, Dragonscale Pattern Storm Shield, and a custom forged jump pack he calls the Wings of The Dragon, which has ornate dragon wings to help steer mid air and concealed compartments that allow him to drop Melta Bombs on foes when flying over head).

Egart Firehand (Venerable Dreadnought with reinforced ornate dragon skull that makes the cockpit look like a fearsome dragon headed golem of sorts, fitted with 2 Dreadfire Fists for it's arms, a dreadnaught sized jump pack with a mounted Macro Plasma Incinerator, extra armor plating, and in place of a built in bolter has a built in Vengor Launcher).

Chief Librarian Rynist Dragonfang (Renowned for his mastery of the Pyromancy Discipline, his own Artificer Armour which shares some similarities with the Grey Knight's Aegis Armour, wielding two Force Swords in battle in combination with his psychic powers, making use of a custom made Psychic hood that resembles that back of a dragon's skull).
