Princess Guard-
My Daisy drawing the other day spawned an idea in my noggin. So I grabbed me some intercecors and some custom heads and ta-da. 5 lady marines in Daisy colours.
Obviously they still have some work to be done, but I like the way it's going. I think it's a good scheme.

The Iron Lords (Custom Chapter Background)
Tumblr media
Being a collection of documents and statements attributed to the successor Chapter of the Iron hands 10th Legion. However, facts are rare against the weight of thousands of years. Known here are the few of them. The Iron Lords are of an unknown founding who follow in the footsteps of their parent chapter and have an affinity for cybernetics and machines, as well as a stern and cold logical nature which manifests in warfare as excessively brutal tactics and doctrine.
Origins
The Iron Hands chapter, at the close of the Horus Heresy, are said to have stayed their hand in the era that is known to history as The Great Scouring.
The Legion pulled back it’s forces to regroup and take council within its offices as to the future of the Legion and it’s leadership. After a time, a course was agreed on, and the Legion’s surviving Astartes were divided into new successor chapters, with the remainder of the Legion’s core staying on as the Iron Hands. Little is known of this division of strength outside the Chapter’s records and it is speculated on whether or not the Iron Lords were indeed part of this second founding as no two sources agree.
What is known is that the Iron Lords were first mentioned in detail within Imperial records sometime during the 35th millennium, which has led some with leave to speculate such matters that the Chapter may in fact have it’s origins in the shadowy 13th or ‘Dark Founding’ which occurred between M35 and M36.
Since their appearance, the Chapter has made a name for itself across the Eastern Fringe, with a reputation for extreme xenophobia, and uncompromising defense of those realms of man they rule over.
Home World
The mega planet Parthenon Prime, located in a solar system near the Grendl Stars on the Easter Fringe has been claimed by the Iron Lords since the waning years of M39 as their primary home world and source of recruitment.
The planet was officially declared the fife of the Chapter after it was tasked with defense of the Grendl Stars region of space, also known as “The Wings of Sanguinius” from the particularly violent alien species known as the Barghesi. Following this order, the Chapter took control of Parthenon Prime and created a defensive cordon around the Grendl Stars made up of fourteen fortresses which they use to strike against any who violate the safety of the area.
Parthenon Prime itself is a fitting realm for the rule of such morose masters, it’s surface nothing more than a barren solid rock encrusted desert broken only by the single oasis at the north of it’s equatorial zone where the entire population of the world lives under a cast of warrior noble houses.
Yet the world’s barren landscape is also the source of it’s usefulness to the wider Imperium, for the rock which makes up it’s surface is a rare blue hued marbled stone, quarried in vast amounts and used for the construction of thousands of Ministorum and Imperial palaces across the sub-sector and beyond, a trade which has insured the vast wealth of it’s feudal nobility.
Each Noble house presides over a swath of farm-able land and vast troves of archeotech that often dates back to the first expansion of mankind across the galaxy. It is these noble houses which are the source of the Chapter’s recruits, for each of the thousands of houses, both great and small is tithed to offer up its first born son as a candidate for initiation.
These children are trained from the moment they can walk in the arts of war and strategic doctrine, drilled without mercy to fight through the worst of conditions on their barren world and to ignore pain that would cripple an average human. The training builds the aspirant to resist the final test of devotion, whereupon the father of the child, on his 12th year will take his son and mutilate a portion of his body, either by hand or device.
These mutilations can vary in their form, encompassing ears, nose, eye, tongue, jaw even feet or entire arms. Some documents suggest those houses with expansive archeo-technology will even remove organs or nerve clusters. Whatever the case, the aspirant must endure with no drugs or assistance without crying out in pain during the procedure. Should he succeed, he is accepted by the officers of the Chapter for induction into the reserve company of scouts. Few make it even to this final test, fewer still survive it.
Once accepted, the initiate has their mutilated body part replaced by cybernetics taken from the noble house’s vaults of archeotech, making it their first lesson; that the Flesh is Weak.
Geneseed
As with their parent chapter, the geneseed of the Iron Lords has few if any mutations or defects, though speculation persists there may be a psychological factor that causes them, as with many of their brethren to view their bodies as weak despite their station as Astartes.
The geno-magi of Holy Terra are also at a lost to explain the truly extensive length of the Chapter’s stern and almost callous demeanor, which has only aided in theories of their ties to the Dark Founding of Astartes Chapters in M35.
Combat Doctrine
The Iron Lords generally follow the tactical doctrines of their founding Legion, the battle brothers of the chapter engaging in massive cerebral downloads of war-data and battlefield tactics during long voyages through warp space or times of rest between campaigns, and then applying this knowledge with cold calculated precision when deployed.
The Iron Lords have a tendency for heavy frontal assaults with brutal and well calculated armored and orbital strikes that grind down their opponents without mercy, ignoring any fear or pain in pursuit of total victory over the opposition, even viewing themselves and civilians or allies as expendable in the calculations of victory.
Initiates are especially prone to be used in the vanguard of these assaults to insure only the strongest live to join the Chapter’s most esteemed ranks.
One divergence noted by eyewitnesses during these conflicts, is the Iron Lord’s use of fighter aircraft formations.
Made up primarily of the ancient Xiphon Interceptor craft used by the Legions prior to and during the Horus Heresy, the Iron Hands utilize squadrons of highly trained fighter wings known as ‘Terror Ace Squadrons’ to decimate enemy command structures and targets of opportunity.
These aerial shock formations enter from low orbit or engage targets in void space at near super sonic speeds, spearheading towards designated targets and flattening them and the surrounding area with well aimed lascannon strafes and bombing runs. Some Imperial Naval officers and fighter assets have noted the almost stomach churning enjoyment these terror pilots seem to take in their deployment, often vying and wagering on which ace will score the most kills in the smallest amount of time to encourage competition between squadrons.
When the Terror Ace formations are unleashed, the last thing many enemy command bunkers, defense silos or even civil shelters hear is the roar of the Xiphon’s engines approaching before they are left in a choking cloud of disorienting devastation and fear as the squadrons scream past on full afterburn.
Organization
The Iron Lords adhere to the standard structure of the Codex Astartes set down by the Primarch of the Ultramarines, Robute Guilliman, with only a few deviations that mirror their founding Legion. Like the Iron hands, the Lords replace the standard office of Chaplain with the well trained and experienced Techmarines known as Iron Fathers. They also elect their Chapter Master based on time and need from their council of captains and other officers.
They do not however organize their battle companies by the Clans structure used by their founders, instead until recent years they have used the standard Battle Company doctrine of the Codex. Since their defense of the Grendl stars however, the Chapter now organizes it’s Companies by the fourteen fortresses used to defend their domain, with ten acting as Company HQs, training and fabrication centers, two more acting as Chapter Fleet star ports and the last two as resource gathering and staging areas.
Beliefs
“Only when the last xenos has been scoured from the galaxy shall the Imperium know peace.”
-Captain Do'tharri, Iron Lords 4th Company
The Iron Lords have a well earned reputation for being incredibly xenophobic, unwilling to allow any alien life to exist if they can do anything about it. This disposition is what many believe has lead to the Chapter’s station in the Grendl Stars to contain the Barghesi until resources can be fully mounted to exterminate this vicious race of xenos.
The Chapter is also extremely atheistic in it’s views of the Imperium and the wider galaxy (much to the rankling of the Ecclesiarchy), seeing the Emperor of Mankind as the embodiment of mankind’s supremacy but a man none the less, and their Primarch Ferrus Manus as an icon of veneration for his strength of character and bravery. This atheistic view extends even to matters warp related, as the Chapter sees the “Gods and daemons” of the empyrean realms as nothing more than yet another alien form of life needing to be destroyed for the good of all mankind.
Battle Cry
“Break Upon Us and Despair!” (Often times added as a follow up to the statements; “We are the Warriors of the Fourteen” or
“The Lords of Iron have Come,”)

Codex: Thunderbearers
Tumblr media
The Thunderbearers
“I invoke thee, Machine-Spirit; awaken anew,
Hear this anointment and be reborn,
Contained within thine shell shall be not the spirit of a weapon, but the spirit of Man,
For you are not a weapon; you are a vessel of all wrath,
Within every man unfairly slain,
Every life stolen,
Every dream shattered,
Every hope extinguished,
Every cry of terror, pain, or anguish, offered in woe unto the silent void
For you are not a weapon; you are retribution, and we its deliverers,
Blessed be this weapon.”
Excerpt from the “Psalm of the 1st Tempest,” the first in a cycle of many blessings that the Chaplains administer on a daily basis unto every bolter in the Chapter’s possession
Tumblr media
Sons of the Hero Unremembered
“Nos tempestas sumus.”
These are the Thunderbearers, a monastic Successor Chapter of shadowy origin who worship the bolter and specialize in utilizing drop pod shock tactics and heavy ballistics.
The Thunderbearers were my first 40k army and are still my favorite to this day. They’ve been my main dudes since I started in the hobby, and over the last few years, I’ve written a lot of completely unnecessarily in-depth fluff for them. On this page you’ll find various lore posts diving into the Chapter’s structure, culture, and history, as well as periodic update posts documenting my progress working on their tabletop presence, alongside other stuff like my World Eaters, Crusades, and other more general hobby things.
Tumblr media
Felled Chapter-Master Lucius Harold, now contained within the Venerable Aurum Eternatus, also known as “Big Harold”
The tag Codex: Thunderbearers will contain exclusively more semi-polished loreposts about the Thunderbearers and their inner workings, whether that be character profiles, remembrancer logs, or tidbits on Chapter structure. The rest of the blog will be whatever else, who care
Thanks for stopping by!

I have a fresh blue notebook that I plan to use to put both the lore and stats of my Carcinisers space marine chapter but i've been putting it off for one crucial detail.
I forgot I don't own a pencil.
Whole armies on pause because I don't got the device to write stuff down on the fly. This will be a grave quest that I must embark on so that the deeds of my chapter will not go unknown.
In the meantime I will attempt to post my slightly customized chaplain for you lot to help me name him. On computer right now so I gotta switch to my phone so I may take this picture

Legion Name: The Dragons of Man (Salamander successor chapter)
Codex Compliant: no (Codex-Divergent/Deviant)
Specialization: much like other Salamanders, The Dragons of Man make heavy use of fire based weaponry but specializing in close quarters combat making regular use with Loi-Pattern Burning Blade power swords and Flamestorm Gauntlets, leading to them having far more Aggressor Squads than other chapters, with a small amount of the other members using the Ryza Pattern Hot-shot Lasgun to help support their brothers from a distance while still delivering the blazing fury of the imperium that they are known for, and living up to their name, most members of this chapter always include a Jump Pack among their wargear, allow them to bring death from above and have greater mobility than they would otherwise have.
Chapter Appearance: Much like other Salamander chapters but with much more use of ornate looking dragon themed armor, their chapter symbol is golden salamander icon with a black background, and their armor is typically with some exceptions an inverted version of the Salamander's original color scheme in such a way that it presented an appearance reminiscent of the Gorladon of the Salamander's homeworld of Nocturne.
Chapter Origins/Founding: Unknown (suspected to be sometime after the Ulima Founding).
Gene Seed: Vulkan.
Chapter Size: Being a rather recent chapter The Dragons of Man are only known to have about 900 Astartes, still attempting to recruit more where able but are often being called to offer aid to worlds with extreme environments or dangerous levels of radiation where their skills are needed. The chapter's fleet consists of 1 Battle Barge, 4 Strike Cruisers, and only has mere 6 Escorts (Frigates and Destroyers). [5:46 PM] Homeworld: Pellaelrius Prime (a radioactive world rich in minerals and rare elements located in the Segmentum Ultima, causing their base of operation on the planet to need to require special shielding and needing to prioritize anti-radiation materials and defenses so that they have a safe place for non Astartes of their chapter to take shelter, rest, and or meet among other things.)
Chapter Recruitment: Candidates are taken to the Salamander homeworld of Nocturne and tasked with not only slaying a Leo'nid but also fashioning it's scaled hide into armor to which the Chapter Master will personally view the craftsmanship of and depending on the quality will either allow the candidate to progress to the transhuman process of becoming an Astartes or flunk them in which case they must either return home in shame or if they wish attempt the trial again.
Combat Doctrine: Extremely similar to those of the Salamander's but with a greater focus on close quarters combat and not unnecessarily sacrificing qualities of a warrior unnecessarily, thus they also prepare themselves with regular training and meditation, this also allowing them to resist their Primarch's Curse of Unyielding more than other chapters, but should they succumb to it and become too injured in combat do to their own stubbornness, their brothers will make every attempt to save their life and to allow them to continue to serve along side one another will have them put into a dreadnaught and forge and modify it to their preferences making it as resilient as possible, should one of these dreadnaughts be destroyed, the whole chapter takes it as a personal failing and great shame that their work was lacking and it caused one of their brothers their life.
Notable Heroes:
Chapter Master Echun Dragonfury (Former member of the Firedrakes, his war gear of choice consists of his Terminator Armor, Indomitus Pattern Tactical Dreadnought Armour, which has a custom modified helmet that resembles the head of a dragon, two custom made Lightning Claws with Auxiliary Meltaguns, Dragonscale Pattern Storm Shield, and a custom forged jump pack he calls the Wings of The Dragon, which has ornate dragon wings to help steer mid air and concealed compartments that allow him to drop Melta Bombs on foes when flying over head).
Egart Firehand (Venerable Dreadnought with reinforced ornate dragon skull that makes the cockpit look like a fearsome dragon headed golem of sorts, fitted with 2 Dreadfire Fists for it's arms, a dreadnaught sized jump pack with a mounted Macro Plasma Incinerator, extra armor plating, and in place of a built in bolter has a built in Vengor Launcher).
Chief Librarian Rynist Dragonfang (Renowned for his mastery of the Pyromancy Discipline, his own Artificer Armour which shares some similarities with the Grey Knight's Aegis Armour, wielding two Force Swords in battle in combination with his psychic powers, making use of a custom made Psychic hood that resembles that back of a dragon's skull).

Adoption notice
Some time ago I adopted brother-captain-aodhan's custom chapter the Cobalt Dragons. The reason was he'd lost interest in them. I pin this message to my tumblr so as to avoid any confusion in roleplays featuring them.
