i just saw a nostalgic instagram reel about 2021 kpop and ofc there were comments talking about the last good year of kpop or how that was when kpop still had normal music and like
i know for a fact these same people are the ones doing this exact thing in 2021 with like 2017 or 2019 kpop and they will continue to do it with the music from this year later down the line
i just can’t imagine having the energy for that. like it’s not a bad thing to look back or to prefer earlier releases, but it must be so sad to always be caught up with the present not being as good

saying this from a place of genuine confusion and not judgment, but why do people make content just to announce that they don’t like something anymore?
for example: as a fan of kpop i’ve stumbled upon many a video where it’s just called something like “why i stopped stanning ____” or like “groups i don’t stan anymore” or something along those lines
and then either today i saw this video on instagram of someone like removing decorations related to & packing up all of their heartstopper stuff and all i can think is why do you need other people to know this?
it just don’t really make sense to me, like the only reason i can think of is that you might want to complain about whatever media it is that you no longer like and are using this to connect with other people who feel the same, but the person on instagram was kinda just like “oh it’s just not my style anymore, maybe when the next season comes out it’ll reignite my interest, but for now i’m moving on.” so that disqualifies from the only reason i can imagine
#truly it just baffles me#why would you spend time talking about something you aren’t interested in anymore?#sure i get like if it’s a celebrity or something and they did something really bad and you want to spread awareness#but that’s jsut not what it is in most of the cases i’ve seen#anyways my mind is boggled#jae’s thoughts
