SO- uh.... there's a lot to catch up on huh? Lemme break this down into little sections.

1. I'll be leaving hiveworks. I'm sure yall have seen some inklings of things happening with other creators and basically I'm joining the bandwagon and leaving. Not until later in the year (cause I need to sort out hosting not just one but THREE sites lol...) In the meantime, in case ANYTHING happens, I've made backup sites on Comic Fury! Just in case haha

2. I've officially wrapped up my work for Harper Alley's "I Witnessed" Series. The Lizzie Bordon Story is out at bookstores now and you can request it at your local library too. And if you have time, leave a review on Goodreads! They're always appreciated. And expect to hear about The Great Train Robbery next year! 

3. I still need to finish my little short story for that anthology I hinted about....like months ago at this point OH GOD LOL. I'll.... try and chip away at that soon. I swear!

4. I just storyboarded my little One-Shot for Viz! It's not no script, just vibes lol. Future me will figure out the finer details later this week. But in the meantime, the've been posted on Patreon if you're curious! 

5. MY WEBCOMICS. SO. I'm already slowly chipping away at inking and coloring again! But man, I'm RUSTY. It's been a hot minute and it's taking me a good while to get used to drawing my own characters again??? (Especially Freakshow!!) But I'm aiming for late Fall/Early Winter to start updates again. And I wanna try something new this time around: Update less times a month but in exchange longer singular updates similar to how I Tigress Queen by Alli Shaw handles it (Which you should totally go read).

I'll experiment a bit with it but yah, it's something I've always wanted to try cause I think batch updates read way better but due to Ad Rev and how things were setup with Hiveworks, it was not something that was particularly encouraged. But now I'm free to just do it so screw it! Let's try it out for fun!!!

6. I've got some other pitch stuff in the oven! One is a sci-fi retelling of a classic story that has been cooking for YEARS and now that I'm done with my other obligations, it's ready to pitch again so cross your fingers it peaks an editors interest cause I'm DYING to work on this lol. I'm also slowly making some pitch packages for my webcomics! It was something that again, wasn't really encouraged by Hiveworks for various reasons but now I'm free to do as I please and have been tinkering with some things behind the scenes. Nothing fancy but yah, there seems to be some interest from publishers for webcomics so I might as well try~! 

And I think that's it. Yeah, that's all I can think of atm haha but yes, keep an eye out for webcomic updates! I'm already posting wips and finished pages on Patreon so go check those out and I'll see ya soon~~

In case anyone finds it helpful because mobility aids are horrifically expensive and inaccessible…

And for those people who have access to mobility devices but might benefit from a second chair they can abuse without risking expensive damage…

Erik Kondo has made a website, Open Source Innovations, that details plans for DIY wheelchairs. These wheelchairs can be made from common materials like wood, plastic, and pvc. They are lightweight and can be custom fit to the user allowing from the same degree of movement you would get from a custom chair. And they are durable and easily repairable. (he has been stress testing his latest design by dropping it down stairs, dropping it out of a car, launching it across a driveway, and throwing it off a deck). Its 12lbs and I think he said its was in the $200 ish range for parts.

He also is working on cheap, open source, accessible designs for beach chairs, off road chairs, motorized attachments (think smart drive), and so on. Plus he skateboards in his wheelchair. Cool dude, helpful info, pass it on.

I think every computer user needs to read this because holy fucking shit this is fucking horrible.

So Windows has a new feature incoming called Recall where your computer will first, monitor everything you do with screenshots every couple of seconds and "process that" with an AI.

Hey, errrr, fuck no? This isn't merely because AI is really energy intensive to the point that it causes environmental damage. This is because it's basically surveilling what you are doing on your fucking desktop.

This AI is not going to be on your desktop, like all AI, it's going to be done on another server, "in the cloud" to be precise, so all those data and screenshot? They're going to go off to Microsoft. Microsoft are going to be monitoring what you do on your own computer.

Now of course Microsoft are going to be all "oooh, it's okay, we'll keep your data safe". They won't. Let me just remind you that evidence given over from Facebook has been used to prosecute a mother and daughter for an "illegal abortion", Microsoft will likely do the same.

And before someone goes "durrr, nuthin' to fear, nuthin to hide", let me remind you that you can be doing completely legal and righteous acts and still have the police on your arse. Are you an activist? Don't even need to be a hackivist, you can just be very vocal about something concerning and have the fucking police on your arse. They did this with environmental protesters in the UK. The culture war against transgender people looks likely to be heading in a direction wherein people looking for information on transgender people or help transitioning will be tracked down too. You have plenty to hide from the government, including your opinions and ideas.

Again, look into backing up your shit and switching to Linux Mint or Ubuntu to get away from Microsoft doing this shit.

My gay and trans fantasy webnovel, For a Horse and Horseman, is NOW LIVE with a printed edition of Volume 1 on Kickstarter!!

It's got 14 full-page b/w illustrations plus a fantasy map (I love a fantasy map!) plus all 55 unique chapter inset illustrations from the original run on Tapas. There are 3 books planned total, and Vol 1 is a character-motivated adventure story. This is a pretty barebones campaign, just the books (physical and ebook) plus a small selection of bespoke merch!
