There are some people who exist out there that think not keeping 100% to a media’s canon is despicable. That clearly they didn’t correctly interpret said media, therefore are ‘fake fans’ of something and their work isn’t true to form,

I am not one of these people.

I think, if changing a character or canon part of media makes it more enjoyable for you, go right ahead. Fan artists and fan writers share what they make out of their enjoyment of something that speaks to them. Getting into that media because a movie was made doesn’t make those fans have any less right to enjoy the fandom space as those who were ‘there first’ and ‘know it better’. Bashing one another over what is and isn’t acceptable in a fandom space regarding canon is a waste of time.

If you don’t like something because it doesn’t adhere to canon, that’s fine. DON’T FUCKING INTERACT WITH IT??!? The internet is a place of free will.
