After spending all day today DIGGING for any, ANY active Gotham TV Series role-playing blogs I've come to the determination I shall not be blessed. So therefore I am going to write a fanfic. I'll post the first chapters link here.

An in depth discussion on Alex's dear companion Shu-Shu and her love of the rodent variety.

Replaying and rewatching Life Is Strange: True Colors really reminds me of how don't nod really sprinkles in ALL of the symbolism.

As we all know- rats are commonly seen as pests, thieves, disease carriers, etc. Something many shy away from.

However in Chinese culture, they often symbolize many things of which reflect positivity. I.E: Wisdom, Health and Prosperity. Something Alex ALWAYS strives for. It is also the first of the Chinese Zodiac.

Now onto my personal ideas on this: I think Alex always wanted something to care for. A pet. To be needed. Of course, it stemmed from a simple childhood wish but grew into something deeper.

I think Alex has a sincere kinship with that of rats considering the immense disregard she's experienced through the majority of her life. The way people have abandoned her or even tried to end her life for the sake of interference.

She certainly values their resourcefulness and intelligence. And just like rats, she seems to have incredible survivability (*cough* shot and thrown down a ventilation shaft *cough*)
