Mist over saltwater is turning 2 years old at the end of the month! As such, I wanted to show off the art I've received for it, be it commissioned or gifted, because I love it so much! Happy mermay!

I couldn’t help but to imagine a scenario inspired by that 1980’s reincarnation Songxue fic from the mini bang. I’d love to think Xue Yang would give him something in return to protect himself too.

For my second TGCF Reverse Big Bang collab, we have what's left of the light, a lovely bittersweet fic about Fenglian by miss_coverly. Go check it out!

I loved making this one. I had spent a while wishing to make something a bit angsty about Fenglian (they have that inherent first love, right person, wrong time kind of angst, don't they?). At some point I was listening to All I Ask by Adele once again and decided I wanted to participate in the TGCF RBB with a piece inspired by those lyrics.

Huge thanks to my writer for making it as bittersweet as I had envisioned it.

And thanks to my dear friends who stared at these feet for a while and let me know if they were no longer looking weird.

This is the art I made for Tempered in Green Embers, a story by Serpex about the troubles of sharing custody with your runaway nemesis and having to keep a leash on him.

And then there he was. 

Waiting to cross the oddly striped street, standing beside a mother and her child while looking vaguely tired. Hair still long, though not as long as it had once been, free of stiffness and of off-putting smells. The shirt he wore did not seem like something he'd do by choice, with its tighter fit and dull pink color, without making mention of the goofy crest so boldly plastered on its front. 

Song Lan. Song Lan was here, unmistakable in his stance and his downturned lips, somehow integrated into this new reality yet not quite a part of it, mere feet from Xue Yang yet an eternity away. 

Song Lan was here, and his heartbeat rang beautifully in Xue Yang's ears. 

He'd tried not to think so much about him throughout the years, not fond of the way his body demanded he reach out for the darkness or worse, but now that he was seeing him again, Xue Yang couldn't help but begin to walk after him as soon as he started to leave. 

He'd never liked seeing Song Lan's back. It was one of the last things he'd seen before he died, before this new state of being had begun. It was what had cemented that the dream, the nightmare, was truly over, and that he'd never be allowed to return to how things were. It was what had finally proven to him that he was alone. As such, he wanted to reach out to him and turn him around. 

Nothing more than that. Just turn him around and get a good look at his face, the face he'd studied for seven years several lifetimes ago. Would he be able to express his emotions again? 

Could he talk?

Happy Halloween! Thus concludes my fic for the SongXue minibang, a story in which Xue Yang is cursed to devour people's hearts! He crosses paths with a reincarnated Song Lan, a thousand years after the end of the Yi City arc, and will do anything to be by his side (which in this case means getting a job)! It's creepy, it's fluffy, it's emotional... And it is over 💔

I really hope you've enjoyed this story, or that you will enjoy it if you wish to pick it up! A thousand thanks to @heebiebeebies as usual for being my partner in this event!! Their art is featured here once more, since I felt it only fitting to end where we began.

Nearly a month has since gone by since Xue Yang's reunion with Song Lan, and after putting off their excursion to the old town around five times, they finally visit together. Xue Yang makes a risky decision once Song Lan asks him a question, which leads to a night of light and warmth. As the moon rises and osmanthus flowers bloom, puzzle pieces begin to fall into place.

The third chapter of my fic for the SongXue minibang is out! The boys go up to Song Lan's family's temple for dinner and moon viewing for the Mid-Autumn festival, where things don't quite turn out how either of them expected.
