James Poetry

I have a weird headcanon. Like specifically an idea of what James would say if he was dared to come up with some poetry on the spot:

No marble could capture your beauty. No painting could capture your likeness. Your wisdom, your grace, your personality; All of which, the still image cannot truly embrace.

Your spontaneity, your playfulness, your movement. There is no video quality that can show it in its full glory. There is no animation that can show it in its true fluidity.

Your beauty will never be captured in history. But even if it is lost to time. I will be the blessed one that gets to see it forever more.

I'm here to yap!! I've brought 1 word to describe each characters arc (minus erik Damien and Diana sorry babes)

Basically what inspired me to do this is a tiktok trend to the lyrics of the song "let down" by radiohead which i absolutely love, the lyric in particular is "one day I am gonna grow wings" which is symbolizing overcoming the bad shit in life.

The trend basically is people putting clips of that character to that song, and using a word to describe what that lyric would mean for each character. So like, what they get as a result of overcoming everything, usually something they wanted.

Here's what I have rn, I'll also give explanations

James has 2 because I'm undecided. His are "freedom" or "control."

Now, freedom is kind of obvious. Yes he was the "favorite" son, but he had absolutely no control over his own life and was forced to do things he didn't want to. Naturally he craves *some* kind of control (which in my canon is partly contributing to his compulsive behavior)

So it could either be freedom or control. Either works and they could be used together. I'd even argue that him gaining freedom and leaving was him also gaining control.

Matthew's is closure. This one was a little difficult but I've been really trying to work on my understanding of Matthew to expand my own canon of him, and a head canon I have for him, is that he feels a deep lack of closure from his childhood.

There's multiple things that he feels this way about,

1. If he ever actually could be capable of running the throne

2. His complicated relationship with his brothers (especially James of course)

3. The most obvious one i think, his relationship with his mother.

Sam's is acceptance.

A contradiction Ive noticed in sams character is his longing for acceptence while simultaneously sabatoging it.

(And I should add, I'm not using the word contradiction in a bad way. People in general have contradictions against their own thoughts and its one of the things that make people interesting in my opinion.)

He wants to be accepted and cared for, to not be seen as a "monster," but that's all he's ever known. I can see him also being very reasonably angry at the treatment he received and the racism towards him because of him being a brute demon, and that made him more against trying to become accepted.

Arons is contentment. She spent so long being in situations where she couldn't be content, where things where always going wrong. And even when good things are happening, she's still worried, waiting for the next bar thing. And like I've said before, in contributes to her commitment issues. She wasn't always content in a safe and healthy relationship, despite wanting to be.

I also say contentment rather than "success" or "happiness" because 1. Aron could be successful and still be not content with her life. And 2. Aron doesn't strive for happiness.

The contentment comes when she learns to be okay and *content* with life
