What high school do you go to provides JSTOR?! 😭
Write or Die is a great site/desktop app that's similar to The Most Dangerous Writing App but it also has a less scary mode where it just blares a loud sound ad flashes red when you stop typing!

Japanese would be great! I speak conversational Cantonese in addition to English, though I don't know if anyone's studying that.
Langblr's and Studyblr's where u at
We need to be making group chats with a common language so that both native speakers and people learning the language can learn. I sorta imagine this to include people with enough fluency to talk in the language and have some conversations but to learn phrases with, but realistically, it should just exist for people to talk and have fun. I speak conversational russian and i’d be down to help out some russian speaking people learn English, for example. So long as we have enough people in the chat to accomodate
I studied abroad for 2 weeks in ukraine and both me and the ukrainians learned from eachother best by talking. Language is best learned in immersion, rather than duolingo and rosetta stone teaching step by step with no grammatical explanation, this would seriously help out anyone here learning a new language, and that’s exactly why I came up with this idea

[Insert Studyblr Intro Header]
Intro:
Howdy! I’m Pyxell or Jami, depending which you feel more comfortable using. I have had this studyblr for a little while after remaking my blog many, many times over many years on this wonderful website. I’m a bit awkward but friendly! This semester I’m retaking some basic courses to make myself a more competitive applicant for my school’s dental hygiene program.
Information:
Almost 24 Years Old
Mexican-American.
ENTJ, Virgo, Water Rooster.
Slytherin/Wampus. Brown Hare patronus.
Technically only a junior in college despite a few years of on-and-off aimless studying.
Studying to become a dental hygienist. Also pursuing a bachelors in Health Science as well, and a minor in Spanish (previously a native speaker, years of disuse has made me rusty).
My son is almost two years old and is brilliant. He enjoys having me read ingredient lists to him and playing in water.
Hobbies:
Weight-lifting
Knitting
Gaming (handheld and MMORPG)
Virtual Pet Sites
Reading (manga, manhwa, fiction novels)
Fall ‘17 Courses
BIOL1130: Principles of Anatomy/Physiology
CHEM 1121: Principles of Chemistry
ENGL 1105: Composition And Argumentation
SOCI1101: Introduction to Sociology
MATH1200: College Algebra (which is a bit odd because I’ve taken Calculus II but hey)
I would love if other college studyblr’s reblog this or give it a Like so I can follow you, my dashboard is an inordinate amount of Animal Crossing for how close to the new semester I am!

Quick tip:
One way to get over the anxiety of ruining a new, pretty notebook is to just skip the first few pages. I find the first page hard to write on depending on the binding, anyway.

As a previous orientation leader in high school and university... no matter how big your school is, BRING A MAP. If a map of your school/campus isn't available online, check the student services office first. Never be afraid to ask directions, but bear in mind that some people may never have heard of the building or classroom you're looking for. Do your best to scope out where your classrooms (and the bathrooms of those buildings!) are before classes. Best of luck to all of you in the coming school year, old and new.

Orientation can be so exciting! It’s likely the first time you’ll visit your new school knowing it’s going to your home for the next few years. It can also be pretty overwhelming to receive a ton of information in such a short period of time. Here are a few tips for making the most of your orientation!
before you go
Do your research!
Go through your new school’s website and look at all the resources they offer and identify anything you want to learn more about.
Be prepared!
A few weeks before orientation, you’ll probably receive an email with more details about the day. Keep an eye out for it and make a note of any important information.
Make a plan of how you’ll get there the day-of. Will you need to spend the night at a hotel the night before? What time will you need to leave to arrive on time? What building is it in? Will you need to print a parking pass? Find out!
Make a list!
Every school does orientation differently, but you’ll likely have some free time either during or after to explore on your own. Make a list of everything you want to see while you’re on campus. Some suggestions: the library, student union, an academic building, and an example dorm if there is one.
Your orientation leader is a great resource! Make a list of everything you’ve been wondering about to ask them.
what to wear & bring
Orientation is a long day (or even two), so you’ll want to be comfortable! Research what the weather in the area is like so you’ll be able to dress appropriately.
Where something that makes you feel confident! You’ll be meeting a lot of people and doing a lot of new things, so wear something that will make you feel ready for whatever the day throws at you.
Wear comfy shoes. This is so important! Make sure they’re already broken in and your feet won’t hurt after a lot of walking.
Bring a roomy bag! You’ll probably be given a lot of papers and other materials, so bring a bag that can accommodate all of it. This is the bag that I brought, but there were also plenty of people with backpacks!
Be sure to bring a notebook and a pen! There will be plenty that you’ll want to write down.
You’ll likely want to buy something during the day (a snack, coffee, or a t shirt from the student store), so bring some cash!
If you’re going to a school with a lot of sun, bring some sunscreen and sunglasses.
orientation day
Get to know the orientation leader! They have a lot of great advice to share and they’re happy to do it.
Get to know your group! You’ll likely be split up into small groups, so get to know the people in yours and exchange numbers to stay in touch.
Take lots of notes! You think you’ll remember, but you won’t.
Ask all those questions you’ve been wondering about! Whether in an information session with a teach, or just while walking somewhere with your orientation leader there will be a chance to get some answers.
Don’t tune out the boring stuff. There will be sessions about things you really don’t care about, but it’s still important to know what resources you have and how to use them.
Explore the campus on your own a bit! Take a few minutes after orientation is over to check out your new home.
Say thank you! A lot of people gave up their summer to help new students like you feel welcome, so let them know you appreciate it.
Happy orientation, babes!

Do you other older studyblrs feel a weird mix of envy and pride when you see younger studyblrs? Like I wish I was that organised and aesthetic in high school.

I’m gathering a few ideas to start my new bullet journal. I really like this yearly overview from my old one, so I think I might keep it.
