Okay so here’s the quick and dirty story behind this build; one day I was just minding my own business (not likely) scrolling across my tumblr dash and I came across this post by Towniefashions about how we needed a “Dating Game” for all the ugly Townies.  I was bored and didn’t have anything to do (I was probably looking to avoid a real life chore) so I figured why not build an actual The Dating Game set in an actual Television Station.

This build can be repurposed for so many things (including an actual cinema), and I am seriously contemplating making some rooms that can take the place of The Dating Game set on the stage. Someone mentioned a News Room, and I’m thinking a Late Night Talk Show set might be fun too.

This is intended to function as a set only! It is not functional for gameplay. But! It has lots of cute areas for you to take screenies, and to help with that, I have made a pose pack specifically for the objects on this lot which you can find on my main @something-wicked-sims here: POSE PACK. The Fortune Teller’s Wagon and Plumbob’s Diner will be fully furnished and released separately. You’ll be able to place them on this lot, or any lot of your choosing. To install:

Download and extract the files to your tray.

Download all CC required and place in your mods folder before loading the lot.

Turn on your bb.moveobjects cheat BEFORE placing the lot or items will not place properly.

Some pieces WILL MOVE during placement, namely the circus tent top segments. They will appear on the ground after placing the lot. Simply use your 0/9 keys to lift and lower them until they fit into place on top of the tent walls.

The Sims 4 Go to School: Builder Tools

This mod unlocks the new venue types* used by the new version of Go to School, as well as the podium and NPC sticker objects.

*Since the new version has very different requirements from the old, I decided not to make the new versions of the venues backwards-compatible.

I’ve wasted probably several days worth of time trying and failing to build pre-made lots for the new version of Go to School, but it’s very difficult to force myself into a building mood when I have the mod itself to worry about. I’ve decided to release an early mod for players to create their own lots before the full mod is released.

You will need the LATEST version of Venue Changes in order for the new venue types to appear.

Building a School Lot

There are two custom objects that must be placed: the podium, and the NPC stickers. Obviously, teachers will spawn at the podium. The Principal and Counsellor will spawn near the NPC sticker and use any object within a 5-tile radius. Generally, there should be a computer in this area.

I strongly recommended that you place objects close to each other. Otherwise, completing goals may become annoying. Generally, you should place all objects on the same floor with the possible exception of the Observatory and Pool (and even then, these objects should still be as quick to access as possible).

The school has a Caterer NPC and a “Call to Meal/Eat Food” goal, so you should include cooking equipment and seating.

You should also include a vending machine as backup in case something goes wrong and the Caterer isn’t able to finish cooking.

Only include one podium in the school! Having more than one will not spawn more teachers, but will cause classmates to go to random podiums.

Although the list below contains all the required objects needed for school venues, I could end up adding more optional objects before release (either for goals or side features). Therefore, it might not be a bad idea to hold off uploading your lot to the gallery, although it’s your choice.

In either case, you should leave room for the lot to be expanded in case new optional objects are added in the future.
