Updates and Changes

Hello lovelies~

To give you all a quick update after seeing the responses from the pole I posted recently, I'll be adding some new things to the library once I get home from work tonight! So please look out for those and, as always, thank you all for following this blog!

Also, if there are any fics I'm missing from the lists (I know there are ones that are only on tumblr and I can't find them all due to homework and work) so I would appreciate it if anyone can give me those links and I can archive them ^^

Hello lovelies! I just updated the entire blog with fics and authors! If you see anything that needs to be fixed please let me know to correct it ^^ I'm thinking of adding some new categories for potential future fics, so I'll make a poll later if you guys would be interested in some of the other sub categories I have in mind uwu

Okay, I've highly underestimated my time I thought I had before classes start next week. Would everyone be okay with me just archiving everything manually and if anyone wants something fixed or added in their section, they can message me. I'm going to assume it's all cool unless otherwise stated. So sorry this has taken forever and I'll update the blog as needed!

quite frankly you aren't gonna get a lot if you are only gonna post with the author's permission. and I don't see why they would care if you linked their fic without them giving an okay first. it is literally just promotion for them.

I know what you're saying anon, I understand completely where you're coming from, but I have my own reasons for asking author permission. I'm planning on personally asking around tomorrow evening when things calm down in my household and doing it manually. I only ask for author permission because I want to make sure the fic is from the person themselves and not someone posing as someone else, if that makes sense. I don't believe anyone in this community would try and do that, but I've seen it happen multiple times to people I know and have had it happen a few times myself in other communities.

Ideally, I'm trying to look out for the writers since on the internet it's so easy to steal from people and pretend to be somebody you're not since there aren't hard copies of things. Even with the author's page, for example, there are people who use pen names on fic posting sites (such as myself) that don't match up with their tumblr urls, so I might miss some people if neither correlate when posting and linking the community together, and I feel it seems rude of me to go and leave a comment on an author's story (whether I've had the time to actually read it or not because life is very busy for me right now) asking if they wouldn't mind their story being linked since, to my knowledge, ao3 doesn't have an actual message system like ff.net does. I only really want to make sure both parties are happy with their stuff being linked other places and that I get all the links correlated together ^^ 

I hope that answer suffices, I feel I rambled a bit in certain areas, and that it clears up why I want author permission before archiving ^^

Fic Rec Friday

Since today is the first Friday since the library has been open, I figured we could kick it off by starting the first Fic Rec Friday! To submit, follow the submission guide and add on why you reccomend the fic! I am also still in desperate need for people to submit their fics to be archived, and people to add to the author list, so please help a girl out! All I will be doing is linking people to your fics so there's no need to worry about them being reposted. If you're confused about how it either will be set up, I have my own work posted for examples so you guys can see what the final product will look like. Thanks!

Quick Update

Alright, since I haven't received any submissions of fics from anyone yet, I think I'm going to manually seek them out and ask if they can be archived here. Also another big thank you for following this blog and taking interest in it! I hope to have this thing fully up-to-date with all the latest Selfie fics by this weekend!

Who can submit an author page for archive? Anyone who writes Selfie centric fanfic can submit their link to be archived on the authors page.

What pairings are allowed in this library exactly? I’m assuming a good chunk of these fics being archived will fall under the Heliza pairing, but I’m open to accepting all ships from the show. I don’t see why I should exclude any fics from this library if they aren’t Heliza, so submit any fics you have written! Only requirement is that they fall into the Selfie fandom!

I want to submit a fic for someone else, either from someone not on tumblr/ao3/fanfiction.net or who is currently posting on said sites, is that allowed? Unfortunately, no. I believe that the author should have the final say in if they want their work archived or not.

But I really want to see their work archived here! If you feel this strongly about having an author’s work linked here, please give me a link to said author so I can contact them to ask them personally so they can be archived here.

I only have one Selfie fic, how can I archive that? Go to the submissions page and follow the format there to submit a fic!

Can I archive my fanfic on more than one archive page? Heck yeah! The more times a fic is cross archived means the more likely a person will find it. Not everything fits into one box, so a fic can belong to multiple archives. I only ask that you list each archive you want your fic to appear under in your submission.

I write for other fandoms too.  Does my author page that I archive here need to be JUST for Selife? Nope! Writing for other fandoms and having multiple fandoms is wonderful and helps more people connect! So long as you have Selfie in that link you send in, all will be well!

I don’t have a fic rec page.  How do I recommend fics to others? Make one! I’ll continuously update the Fan Rec List as much as I can, so send in all your Selfie fic recs!

I want to find fanfics about (insert genre here).  Can you recommend anything? Refer to the two tabs that are fic recs. I would do it myself but I also have things I need to do and life always finds a way to happen, and I’m sure there are many fans in this fandom that are willing to rec fics in the rec list pages ^^

Who can submit a fanfic for Fic Rec Friday? This list is open to all! The author of the fic itself or someone who read and enjoyed the fic.  This is one of the times where author permission is not required. If the fic fits an event the library is hosting, then by all means rec it!

Selfie Fic Library is officially open!

Hello all! I've finally got this library up and running in a somewhat working condition! It's still heavily under construction, but I figured I could at least get the word out now!

I've created this make-shift library of sorts as a place for all fans of abc's Selfie could have easy access for fics written by fans. In this library I'm taking any ships of any kind and any suggestions for improvement by fans. I essentially want to run this like an actual public library in the sense that it's free and everyone's welcome.

What you can expect to find here: any ship so long as it falls under the Selfie fandom. I'm one for shipping what you want, so I don't see any point in excluding fics that aren't solely catered around Heliza (though I know the majority of fics here are going to be Heliza). In the future, I would love to have events that we as a fandom can do that I've seen other similar tumblrs like this one do and like actual public libraries do. I want this to be a place where we can all share writing talents (either as an author or a reader) and many other things as a fandom in the most positive way. So please feel free to make suggestions for ideas or things you'd like to see here!
