“They’re the devil.” The whispers amongst the villagers whenever the twins weren’t around filled the air around them. Koe and Ai Suzui were only kids when it happened — however, the people around them , treated them as if they were the cause of the strange happenings.

Firstly, it was the death of their mother. The twin’s mother seemed to have come down with some type of illness — and without the technology to properly construct a cure, she succumbed to this mysterious illness a week after their birth.

Second off, The bear-like creature that had wondered its way into their village. It was the twin’s second birthday, and resulted in bloodshed. Their father unfortunately went off to battle the bear, and never returned, leaving the twins to become orphans.

And, finally, on the twin’s third birthday, the island split down the middle and lava began pouring out from beneath it, burning all of the villagers hard work down.

The villagers began begging the god’s for forgiveness, and accusing Ai and Koe of being the devil. In secret, they all agreed to abandon the both of them — it would be best.
