Hey, fellow Severitus lovers!

Potions and Snithces, THE archive for Severitus fiction, is due for renewal this year, and is in need of your help!

If you have a knut to spare, or a moment of your time to reblog, please consider giving it to P&S. To me, the archive opened doors to worlds I had not previously known, and cemented my love for Severitus. Dare I even say, I wouldn't be in fandom still. Heck, I'm not sure I'd have ever posted my first fanfic, not to mention all following fanworks.

I, for one, am grateful to all the contributors, especially mod @jan-aq who gives all her spare time - and, if I had to guess, quite some of her money - for maintaining this archive.

Don't hesitate! Round 3 will be our last round, and there are still 26 spots open across all pitches!

Here are some details about Round 3:

Round 3 is the last round of claiming and will begin in approximately 17 hours. (Feb 10th, 11:59 UTC – Feb 11th, 11:59 UTC)

Like the two previous rounds, it will last for 24 hours.

UNlike the previous rounds, every claimer can decide whether they wish to claim one, two or three pitches (Question 2).

Icebreaker questions!

You have just contacted a complete stranger and don’t know what to talk about? Fear not! Here are some questions that might spike conversation and hopefully will let you get to know them better.

Teambuilding:

Preferred name, pronouns, fandom handle(s)

Since we already covered the DNWs: List 5 things you especially enjoy in stories (e.g. a kind of trope, story line, etc.).

What strengths will you bring to the group?

What things do you struggle with when it comes to group work? How can your collaborators help you with these things?

Have you ever collaborated on a fanwork with someone before? If so, describe what it was like, which things worked for you, which things didn't work as well.

If you feel comfortable, suggest ways that your collaborators might be involved in your creation process that would work well for you.

What are you hoping for from this collaboration experience? What would your dream version of SeveritusBB collaboration look like?

Tell your partner(s) about a good and a bad group work experience you've had, either in fandom or at school or work (or other). What made the good one good? What made the bad one bad? What did you learn about what makes group work successful for you?

What's one thing your partner(s) could say or do that would feel really good to you? (For example, compliment your fanwork, offer to help with organisation/beta/cheerleading, reach out to you to say hi every few days, etc.)

If one or more group members become unhappy or uncomfortable with how the collaboration is going, what are your preferences for how it be handled? (For example, a preference that your partner(s) tell you right away if something bothers them, a preference that they give you some time after telling you something heavy for you to process and respond, etc. Please note that for any conflict that cannot be resolved within a single conversation, we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE coming to the mods for support and not allowing things to escalate! Participants should also all feel welcome and encouraged to come straight to the mods without having talked to their partner first if that feels safer/better!)

Pitching has ended! And How To Claim!

Thank you, to all who pitched! We received 17 wonderful pitches (writing, art, podcast, a bit of music), and now, we are all trembling in anticipation for claiming, beginning in less than a week!!!

Here's the How-To-Claim document

detailing the claiming process. Please read it carefully before filling out the claiming form linked in this doc once claiming is open.

There will be three rounds of claiming (I don't know what it is with UNIX timestamps and tumblr, but they don't like each other): -- Round 1: Feb 3rd, 11:59 UTC – Feb 4th, 11:59 UTC -- Round 2: Feb 7th, 11:59 UTC – Feb 8th, 11:59 UTC -- Round 3: Feb 10th, 11:59 UTC – Feb 11/12th, 11:59 UTC [there is a chance that this round will be extended to 48 hours if there are still many open pitches by then]

Each round, every claimer can express interest in up to 3 pitches, in descending priority.

Teams will not be created according to “first come, first serve” - so there's no need to rush filling out the form as long as your response arrives within the timeframe.

You will receive news on whether your claim was successful within 48-72 hours of each claim round's end.

Each round, you may change your claims ONCE, as long as the form is open.

Pitching is now OPEN!!! (thanks to one particular mod's impatience XD)

We can’t believe it is 2024 already and that means: Pitching for the Severitus Big Bang is now open!

You can submit your pitches via the form up until January 28th, your bedtime.

Please read the rules and FAQ carefully before doing so.

If you decide that you want to change your pitch, you can also do so until Jan 28th, your bedtime. You have time until Feb 3rd, 10:59 AM UTC ( <t:1706961540:F> [Unix timestamp, can be converted to local time] ; 1h before claiming starts), to withdraw your pitch should you wish to do so.
