"This game is free?" is something I hear a lot now. It is not my intent to hurt or undermine others.

I just like making things and having people enjoy them. I think value is subjective.

But I hope I am not making people angry.

Given the choice between making a small amount of money or having five times as many people play the game, I think the latter is more fulfilling.

2023 was pretty good.

Astra Hunter Zosma is complete and pretty much ready to go this upcoming Friday. I'm glad we could get it done this year.

The game marks a lot of firsts. It's the first non-remake, non-sequel game we've done in a long time, and it's the first to feature sideview battles.

I've decided that 2024 is likely going to be an off-year for gamedev for me, for various reasons that I'll go over some other time. So I'm committing myself to a break. Even if it doesn't end up lasting the whole year, I definitely need a rest after doing games almost nonstop for 9+ years.

I think if I take some time away from it, I'll be able to come back to it with a fresh perspective.

I'll have more to say after the game comes out this Friday. Please look forward to this new adventure.
